A draw was a fair result for Lynn away from home to a team that were looking to secure their place in their first season in the Premier Division after three successive promotions, although Lynn might have stole the points at the end.
Lynn got off to a perfect start with a goal on three minutes. A lofted pass from Lee Stevenson found man-of-the-match Shaun McWilliams, who drilled the ball across the goal from the by-line where it bounced off the helpless Mayo Balogi and into the net.
Ryan Hawkins saw his shot saved but the home side did not have to wait long to level matters. On twelve minutes Jack Pattison’s cross from the right into the box found Stephen Ward who headed into the corner of the net.
James Verney hit the Lynn post and just after the half hour Hawkins had another effort for Lynn that went straight at ’keeper Xavi Comas.
Lynn started the second half brightly with McWilliams breaking clear on 47 minutes, his shot squirming under the body of Comas but the ball was hacked off the line by Gary Connolly.
Two minutes later Stevenson tried a run but his shot went wide. At the other end Lewis Toomey had a shot which came back off the post and was cleared.
The home side were awarded a penalty on 62 minutes when Sam Gaughran fouled Steve Ward and Lewis Toomey sent Alex Street the wrong way from the spot.
Lynn equalised with thirteen minutes remaining when a corner was not cleared and McWilliams’ shot took a deflection into the top corner of the net.
The final chances belonged to Lynn with Comas doing well to deny Gaughran’s header at the back post and then Michael Clunan blazed over from eight yards.
Comas then denied Kurtis Revan at point blank range to ensure a share of the points.
