Lynn completed their second league double of the season as manager Ian Culverhouse took the opportunity to have a look at some of the younger players.
Lynn, without the suspended Alex Street, gave Luke Pearson and Kieran Shipp their first league starts.
In an uneventful opening half the first effort towards goal that was of note fell to the visitors on 31 minutes when Sam Deadfield broke through but shot well wide. The same player tried his luck again on 35 minutes but this quickly taken free kick was again wide of the goal.
Four minutes later Lynn managed their first effort when kegan Everington got on the end of a Michael Clunan free kick was also wide.
the best chance of the first half went to Basingstoke, when a well worked move resulted in Ashley Atwell getting an effort in but it drifted wide.
A livelier second half saw the visitors with an early chance but it was Lynn who took the lead on 51 minutes Chris Ward headed home from a Clunan free kick.
A mistake by Tom Ward 15 minutes later allowed Aaron Jarvis the opportunities to head home the equaliser, giving Pearson no chance.
Tom Ward made amends three minutes later when he put Lynn back in front. Once again it was a Clunan kick from a set piece the ball finding Toby Hilliard who set up Ward to stab home from two yards.
Jarvis had a chance late on to steal a point but Pearson, who had a sound debut, was equal to it.
