Perhaps it was only to be expected that when a side with the best defensive record visits that at a goalless draw might be the result.
Promotion chasing Leamington will no doubt be happy enough with the draw but Lynn might have won this game as they once again proved they can provide a good test for the teams in the higher reaches of the table.
The first half was more notable for is committed, going on feisty, play rather than for its goalmouth chances.
Lynn dominated territorially but neither keeper was particularly troubled.
The spectators had to wait until the 24th minute for the first chance of note, Ryan Hawkins doing well to control a high ball but he turned and fired straight at Brakes’ keeper Tony Beeden.
Michael Clunan’s corner found Sam Gaughran who headed goalward but the effort was blocked by the back of a defender and then cleared.
Clunan tried a long range effort on seeing Breeden stranded but his shot drifted wide.
Lynn continued to press after the restart and a break by Hawkins saw him latch on to a high ball and run through to shoot on goal but it was thwarted by Jamie Hood at the cost of a corner which came to nothing.
A moment of controversy followed on 55 minutes. Kurtis Revan was fouled but referee Mr Cutmore played advantage and Revan continued into the box and was fouled again only for play to be pulled back for the earlier foul.
Shaun McWilliams then rode a couple of challenges but his effort was put out for a corner.
Just past the hour Sam Warburton forced Beeden into a good save.
