We are pleased to confirm that today Mark Warren has agreed terms to play for the Linnets again next season.
He and Jack Defty will be signing a contract on Friday.
Friday 4 May
The club have contacted the FA for confirmation as to what league the club will be playing in next season.
At the moment the FA are 95% certain we will still be in the Southern League. A final decision is expected on Tuesday.
Today Steve Melton and Jack and Charlie Defty have all pledged themselves to the club for next season along with contracted players Danny Bloomfield and Greg Crane.
Other members of this seasons squad will be spoken to over the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Talks will be held on Tuesday with Mark Warren.
The decision has been taken to release Jamie Gould, Lewis Blois and Shaun Marshall. The club wishes to place on record its thanks to all 3 for their efforts over the past season.
As many of you may know Andrew Fisk has been released by Norwich City.
Andy has indicated to us that he is keen to gain a place at a league or Conference level club but he has not ruled out the possibility of a return to The Walks.
Finally Shaun Carey has stepped down from his role as assistant manager to concentrate on regaining full fitness for next season.
Thursday 3 May

Tuesday 1 May
King's Lynn 0 Maidenhead United 1
For the third time of asking Lynn failed in the play-offs in their bid for
Conference football - but had sufficient chances in the first half to have
wrapped the game up. Their first corner came after three minutes but Matt Nolan
headed over.
Lynn had the bulk of he pressure with a Frew ball into the area nearly becoming
an own goal but it went out out for a corner. On 33 minutes Lynn had a free kick
following a foul on O'Halloran from ex-Linnet Grant Cooper but Blois' free kick
went narrowly wide.
Chico Ramos then denied Matt O'Halloran twice within a minute but Maidenhead
began to counter - winning three successive corners with half time approaching.
Lynn best passing move of the first period eventually found Jack Defty but his
shot found the side netting - the angle being just too fine.
Matt Nolan became the first player to be booked by referee Mr Mason as he fouled
Brown in the opening minutes of the second half.
Scott Howie was called into serious action for the first tie to deny Lee and
then Newman shot just wide as Lynn seemed to have taken their foot off the
pedal.
Howie then denied Roach whilst Lynn's chances at the other end were either being
blocked or just finding the keeper.
Maidenhead's pressure looked sure to result in a goal and it duly arrived on 73
minutes from Nisbet - the player who scored against Lynn in December. His shot
from some 16 yards gave Howie no chance.
Lynn brought on Bloomfield for West as the went for broke.
Frew set up O'Halloran to a good opportunity but the ball came of his knee and gave Ramos an easy task.
Lynn increased the pressure and Crane's point-blank header went flew over and then Nolan shot wide with only Ramos to beat.
With everything committed to attack Lynn were exposed at the back and Roach nearly put the result beyond doubt but Howie
produced a fine stop in stoppage time.
Lynn: Howie, West (Bloomfield), Blois, Warren, Crane, Fisk, O'Halloran, Camm, J Defty (Gould), Nolan, Frew.

King's Lynn 1
Wealdstone 0
Lynn made several changes to the line up that defeated Team Bath on Wednesday
with players being rested or injured and others getting a chance to perform
after good performances in the reserves. The all important goal came in the
53rd minute - Danny Bloomfield crossing to the in-rushing Matt O'Halloran to
shoot home.
It was lead that Lynn deserved following a first half in which they had the
better of the possession. The best of Lynn's first half chances fell to Greg
Crane, first firing over after Danny Bloomfield's shot had been blocked by a
defender and then a back post header being saved by Mitch Swain in the
Wealdstone goal. Charlie Defty and Mark Heath-Preston (making his first league
start) also had good efforts n target. Having taken the lead Lynn looked as
if they had increased it almost immediately when Blois' cross was pushed away by
Swain and O'Halloran's
follow up was kicked off the line by Chappell. Charlie Defty then saw his header
saved.
Lynn introduced Frew whose first action was to see his shot get the slightest of
touches and go for a corner. Frew was soon in action again when his shot from
the Lynn right hit the underside of the bar and came out. Mark Camm, not
renowned for his goal scoring exploits, saw his shot was palmed away
by Swain. Wealdstone created an number of chances of their own and probably
had the most clear cut of the first half when Robinson thought too long about
his shot and Marshall bought off a good save. In the closing stage Wealdstone
tried to apply pressure and Marshall produced good saves from Montgomery and
Adegoite Lynn:

Felixstowe & Walton United 0 Lynn Reserves 0
Both sides played neat flowing box to box but with little goalmouth action neither keeper was tested until five minutes before the interval. A battling run from Andy Crump created an opening for Felixstowe with his shot well saved by McAnally at the expense of a corner.
Cudworth in the home goal tipped Spriggs' dipping shot over the bar and Harvey headed wide from the resulting corner kick just before the half time whistle.
McAnally turned Janacek's strike away for a corner and Cudworth saved with his feet to deny Spriggs but with the second half following a similar pattern to the first scoring opportunities were at a premium despite skilful moves from both sides.
Lynn A completed their season with a walkover against Woottons.
Thursday 26 April
King's Lynn Reserves 4 Dereham Town 0
Two goals by Luke Fell and strikes by Alex Vincent and a Steve Spriggs 30 yarder moved Lynn to 16th in the table and a major boost toward their fight against relegation.
Wednesday 25 April
King's Lynn 1 Team Bath 0
Any hopes Lynn had of Team Bath being tired after the extra time Cup win last
night looked unlikely as The Students took the game to Lynn in the opening of
this fast paced game.
Despite having the better possession the visitors were not getting many scoring
opportunities - after ten minutes Lynn got their first look at goal when Matt
O'Halloran shot over as the strength of Jack Defty was beginning to cause
trouble in the visitors' defence. Five minutes later an attempted clearance from
the Team Bath defence hit one of their own players fell kindly to Jack
Defty but he was denied by the visiting keeper.
An appeal for "hands" was waved away by the referee as Lynn had the
better of the chances whilst the game had become an end to end affair.
On 34 minutes Jamie Gould set up O'Halloran but he was denied by the keeper
diving to his right. Four minutes later Gould tried his luck from a free kick
from just outside the area but it was straight at the keeper.
In the first minute of the second half Matt Nolan set the theme for the
remainder of the match with a shot as little was to be seen of the visitors'
strike force.
On 53 minutes Lynn were awarded a penalty but Matt Nolan saw his shot saved by
the keeper's legs. On 61 minutes Lynn took a deserved lead when Jack Defty
finished at the far post after a Camm cross from the Lynn right.
Twice Matt O'Halloran was denied and then, when Charlie Defty replaced him, his
first touch was a header which the keeper saved. Nearing the end Mark
Heath-Preston put a stinging shot just over as Lynn made sure of third spot in the
league and a home tie in the play-offs next Tuesday.
Lynn: Howie, West, Blois, Warren, Crane, Fisk, O'Halloran (C Defty), Camm, J

Merthyr Tydfil 0 King's Lynn 0
On a difficult pitch, neither keeper was particularly troubled as Lynn gained a valuable point on what is one of their least successful hunting grounds.
Lynn had slightly the better of the opening exchanges with the home side coming
more into it as the first half progressed. On 52 minutes Lynn lost Michael
Frew with an injury - Jamie Gould replacing him.
Shortly afterwards a Charlie Defty corner saw Danny Hammond attempt an overhead
kick and from the resulting scramble Matt Nolan was inches wide. In the
closing stages Steins went down in the area under pressure from Hammond
but claims for a penalty were denied by referee Rushton.
Lynn have managed just one goal in six away games and must hope that the
play-offs will result in homes matches.
Lynn: Howie, West, Blois, Hammond, Crane, Camm, Frew (Gould), Melton, J Defty (Bloomfield), Nolan,
C Defty (Fisk). Unused Sub: Marshall.
Lynn Reserves 2 Norwich United 2
The fight against relegation goes on as Lynn salvaged a point but their dominance
should have resulted in all three. Lynn's first chance came on six minutes
when Mark Heath-Preston headed just wide from a free kick. On the quarter hour
Steve Spriggs was fouled as he cut in the Lynn right but his resultant penalty
kick was saved by the United keeper Marsden. On 23 minutes Adam Smith put the
visitors in front but Lynn pulled level seven minutes later with a delicate lob
from Alex Vincent.
On 38 minutes Ed Cussons saw his free kick go just wide.
Lynn were just edging the game in terms of possession but on 65 minutes Lynn had
a let off when Soames hit the upright and from the resultant scramble the ball
was cleared off the line. back came Lynn and two minutes later
Heath-Preston saw another shot go just over.
United took the lead again on 72 minutes - this time it was an own goal
following a free kick.
Lynn piled on the pressure and on 80 minutes Danny Buhlemann scored his first
goal of the season - a cracker from just outside the box on the Lynn right
following a short corner and a cross from Heath-Preston. Lynn continued to press
but could not find the winner and the fight goes on this Thursday against
Dereham Town.

Sunday 15 April
King's Lynn 4 Tiverton Town 1
Lynn had the first chance of note with Danny Bloomfield's shot going wide on 14
minutes.
Three minutes later Lynn were behind. Craig Alcock's cross found Scott Laird in
space just onside the Lynn area. His initial shot was blocked by Dean West but
the ball went straight back to him and his follow-up gave Scot Howie no chance.
Lynn drew level six minutes later when Dean West's cross found the head of
Charlie Defty at the far post for his first senior league goal for the club. On
38 minutes Lynn nearly increased their lead when Michael Frew, with his back to
goal, attempted an overhead bicycle kick which went just wide of the far post.
Lynn took the lead on 58 minutes with a goal similar to the first - this time
Danny Bloomfield putting in the cross that found Charlie Defty's head.
Lynn had further chances to increase their lead before Matt Nolan adopted a
shoot-on-sight policy on 67 minutes - hammering home from some 25 yards.
Jack Defty completed the scoring on 76 minutes with the visitors looking tired
after two away games in as many days.
Lynn: Howie, West, Blois, Hammond, Crane, Gaughran (Melton), Frew, Camm, J Defty,

Saturday 14 April
King's Lynn 3 Chippenham Town 0
Most of the action came at each end of this match with Chippenham having two goals disallowed in
the first six minutes. Dave Gilroy was the first to be denied following a long throw which caused
problems in the Lynn defence.
Minutes later Kes Metitiri scored following a goalmouth scramble but once again the effort was ruled out.
Chippenham continued to pile on the pressure but on ten minutes Lynn broke away with Matt Nolan receiving the ball on the
halfway line. He fed Jack Defty who lobbed the ball over visiting keeper Chris Snoddy.
Looking as it it was going wide, the ball took a diversion struck the post and went over the line before coming out again.
On 23 minutes Nolan's attempt to copy Defty's goal went wide Snoddy once again off his line.
Little goalmouth action of note followed with the Lynn defence, having looked vulnerable early on, now growing in confidence.
On 67 minutes Chippenham's Ian Herring was shown a second yellow card and Lynn applied the pressure.
Ten minutes later Lynn doubled their lead when Nolan chipped the ball over Snoddy from on the edge of
the 18-yard box - the ball hitting the inside of the post and bouncing into the net.
Melton was then denied by Snoddy, Gaughran had a good chance with his first kick of the match and Frew put a shot wide before
putting the result beyond doubt with two minutes left when he beat Snoddy with a chipped shot.

Monday 9 April
Rugby Town 1 King's Lynn 0
Jack Defty (strain) and Mark Warren (ankle) were missing from today's line-up.
Lynn dominated the first half with the first chance falling to Michael Frew on
12 minutes forcing a good save from the home keeper. Lynn lost Steve Melton to
injury on the quarter hour and was replaced by Mark Camm and Lynn continued to
have the better of the game. Matt O'Halloran then went close with an angled
drive and Andrew Fisk was wide from a free kick.
David Stone produced the home side's best effort with a 20 yard shot.
Disaster struck for Lynn on 52 minutes when a Stone shot was spilled by Howie
and Jason Taylor was on hand to prod the ball home. Lynn continued to dominate
and had many chances - the best probably being right at the end with a Charlie
Defty header which grazed the post - but the goal failed to come.
Lynn:
Howie, West, Hammond, Crane, Blois, Fisk, O'Halloran (C Defty 71), Melton
(Camm 23), Nolan, Frew, Gould (Bloomfield 58). Sub not used: Marshall.

Stephen Harvey and Alex Vincent saw Lynn Reserves come back from one goal down.
Saturday 7 April
King's Lynn 1 Hitchin Town 0
A 17th minute goal was all that separated the teams. Dean West's cross from the
Lynn right deceived Canaries keeper Rob Beckwith who seem to think it was going
out - but instead it found Jack Defty's head at the far post.
Chances were, however, at a premium and Lynn failed to find the killer goal with
Hitchin coming back into the match in the closing minutes. Davis Deeney put in a
dipping shot on 87 minutes - probably their best effort at that stage, and Scott
Howie did well to push out a swerving Cunnington corner in injury time.
Lynn were without Matt Nolan who was ill.

Saturday 31 March
Tiverton Town 1 King's Lynn 0
Lynn lost the 100% record at Ladysmead and in doing so recorded their third
successive away defeat - their fourth away game without scoring. Jamie Mudge got
the deciding goal on 78 minutes after Mark Warren was adjudged to have tripped
him. Worse was to follow with Matt O'Halloran being dismissed for a elbow
offence and then both captains, Mark Warren for Lynn and Nathan Rudge for the
home side, being shown red cards after an altercation. The suspensions will come
into effect for Lynn's "Double Weekend" and the potentially
tricky visit of play off rivals Chippenham Town.

Lynn had the worst possible start -
going a goal behind on four minutes and then losing Steve Spriggs to injury on
ten minutes. Lynn did pull a goal back on 38 minutes when Seamus Kelleher scored
from outside the area. Stanway restored their lead some five minutes later and
went further ahead ten minutes into the second half.

Lynn A defeated Woottons 6-0 in the league - which should give confidence
for Thursday's meeting of the teams in the League Cup at Downham.
Lynn have signed 'keeper Scott Howie.
Glasgow born Howie started his league career in Scotland with Clyde in 1991. He
made 55 appearances before joining Norwich City for £300,000 in August 1993 as an understudy for
Bryan Gunn.
He made just two appearances for Norwich (one start and one sub) before moving on to Motherwell in October
1994 for whom he made 69 appearances.
He had a loan period with Coventry City in early 1998 and then signed for
Reading where he made 85 appearances over four seasons.
He signed for Bristol Rovers in August 2001 making 90 appearances and then
a further forty for Shrewsbury Town having joined them two years later.
He then joined Cambridge United and was first choice keeper for the 2005-06
season making 33 appearances but retired in May 2006 in order to concentrate on his business interests - making himself available for Cambridge as required.
The former Scotland Under 21 'keeper is now 35.

Frustration at keeper deal
Lynn's attempt to sign a new keeper have been frustrated at the eleventh hour.
A deal had been struck with the un-named stopper on Thursday but with secretary Martin Davis over half way to his destination to sign the player in time for Saturday's Tiverton fixture a call was made to boss Keith Webb indicating that the player had had second thoughts and would not now be signing.
Travelling was reported to be the stumbling block.
Wednesday 28 March
JAMIE GOULD SIGNS IN
The Linnets have today completed the signing of Jamie Gould from Bedford Town.
The 25 year old is a left sided midfield player.
In view of what is now an injury crisis with players such as Mark Warren, Greg Crane, Steve Melton, Sam McMahon and the Defty brothers plus the departure of Alex Notman it leaves us down to the bare bones and
we felt the need to make this addition to the squad. As a club we feel that ANY team, be it in non league or premiership would struggle in these very difficult circumstances.
Further efforts will be made to strengthen the team before transfer deadline day.
Jamie Gould's previous clubs include Northampton Town, Boston United, Stevenage Boro and Kettering Town.
A product of the Cobblers Youth side he joined Boston United in June 2001 and spent two years their making 40 starts and a total of 54 appearances, scoring 4 goals.
He moved on to Stevenage in June 2003 - making 29 appearances up to December 2004. This period also saw a loan spell with Welling United
He then moved to Kettering making 22 starts in the 2005-06 season.
He joined Bedford Town in December 2006 and made 11 appearances - scoring once.
Lynn Reserves 5 Histon Reserves 1
Despite the visitors taking an early lead Lynn Reserves went nap for the second
successive time at The Walks to lift themselves above Diss Town in the scrap to avoid relegation.
There were three goals from Mark Heath-Preston plus strikes from the returning Simon Bush and Ed Cussons.
Tuesday 27 March
Yate Town 3 King's Lynn 0
Lynn are still without a win at Lodge Road from five visits and failed to score for the four time against
the Bluebells. After an even opening Lynn fell behind on 40 minutes with a
goal from Adam Sims following in Paul Chenoweth's 20.
Jake Reid increased the home side's lead on 55 minutes after a corner and Aaron Blakemore completed the scoring
8 minutes later when he curled a free kick into the corner of the net.
ALEX NOTMAN DEPARTS
Alex Notman has today left KLFC. Alex has said that quite simply he isn't enjoying his football at the moment
and has asked to be released.
KLFC wish to thank Alex for all of his efforts whilst at the Walks and we wish him well for the future.
Monday 26 March
Blackstones 3 Kings Lynn 1
Lynn scorer: Alex Vincent. This game hinged on two crucial decisions, both of which went against the young 'Linnets',
indirectly and directly leading to the two second half goals which clinched victory for the Stamford side.
The result leaves Keith Rudd's lads with a mountain to climb if they are to take the title
although they have completed their away league programme. Next Monday it is
second versus third when Lynn entertain Grantham.
Saturday 24 March
King's Lynn 2 Hemel Hempstead 1
Lynn ended Hemel's run of six league victories in one of the best games of the season against a confident, well-organised Tudors team.
The visitors nearly opened the scoring in the first minute - Marshall saving well after a long throw into the Lynn
box..
Lynn's first effort came on 11 minutes when Frew shot just over the bar.
Hitchin took the lead on 28 minutes with a goal from nothing. Gary Sippetts found himself in space on the Lynn left and his shot found the far side of the Lynn goal - giving Marshall no
chance.
Lynn were level within four minutes with a simple header from Danny Bloomfield after good work by Nolan and Frew.
This gave Lynn the pickup they needed as the visitors had shown that they were not afraid to take the game to Lynn.
Another long throw on 38 minutes struck the Lynn upright and then minutes
before half time Marshall did well with a reflex save from Anthony Thomas.
The visitors dominated the early stages of the second half and on the hour Mark
Edgeworth hit the top of the bar with a long range effort.
A superb individual effort from Michael Frew on 66 minutes gave Lynn the lead.
Running at the visiting defence he unleashed a left footer which gave Smith no
chance. It was the tonic Lynn needed and with the crowd behind them they began
to look as if they deserved victory. Danny Bloomfield and, later, Sam Gaughran
both had good chances and although Hemel came back in search of an equaliser
Lynn gained an important victory.
Matt Nolan and Michael Frew were booked for Lynn - the latter for taking off his
shirt when he celebrated the goal whilst five of the visitors had their names
inserted into referee Mr George's notebook.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Crane, Fisk, O'Halloran (J Defty), Camm, Nolan, Bloomfield (Gaughran), Frew. Unused subs: Notman, Harvey, D Crane.
Att: 793.
Saturday 21 March Corby Town 3 King's Lynn 0
Lynn's disappointing run of league results at Corby continued. Lynn have now managed
just three draws from eight visits -
conceding 24 goals in the process. A goal in the first minute fro Steve
Towers and a brace from Chris Difante in
the last two minutes leaves Lynn 3 points behind the cherished second spot in
the league (and home games in the play-offs) with two games in hand but a clash
with Team Bath still to come.
Saturday 17 March
Mangotsfield Utd 0 King's Lynn 0
Lynn preserved their unbeaten league record against Mangotsfield but it was the hard pitch and
strong wind that were the winners as Lynn recorded their first away goalless
draw of the season whilst the two Bath clubs managed to
increase their lead at the top of the division.
Lynn started with the wind and slope against them, their best chance of
the first half coming from Louis Blois whose shot was well saved by home 'keeper
Steve Book. Shaun Marshall, making his return to the side, did well to deny
Robbie Claridge Chris Lane and Kristian Witcombe before a Greg Crane header,
following a Blois free kick, was punched out by Book, Sam McMahon heading the
rebound over. Following half time Lynn began to dominate and Mangotsfield's
Gary Warren cleared the ball off the line after McMahon's shot had taken a
deflection from Lynn's Mark Warren but Lynn were finding it hard to get their
shots on target. Lynn were awarded a free kick in the final minutes after
Fisk had been brought down but Blois's effort was well saved by Book.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, M Warren, Crane, Fisk, Frew (Notman), McMahon (Gaughran), Jack Defty,
Nolan (Bloomfield), Camm. Subs - Fell, D Crane. Booked: Fisk, J Defty
Lynn Reserves 5 Clacton Town 1
Danny Hammond returned to Lynn colours as Lynn Reserves gained three points in their battle against
relegation.
Lynn dominated the early stages and Martin Rudd missed a good chance on 12 minutes after the visiting keeper had only parried Mark Heath-Preston's shot.
The next minute, however, saw Lynn take the lead after Steve Spriggs headed home at the far post after a cross from the left.
Clacton came more into the game and Duncan McAnally did well to save from a free kick - the rebound being cleared for a corner.
On 23 minutes Lynn increased their lead - Steve Spriggs went on a long run and although his final shot lacked pace it was turned into the net by a Clacton defender.
Another good save from McAnally denied the visitors on 28 minutes and then Lynn went three up. Matty Peters was fouled on the edge of the area
and Ed Cussons scored from the free kick on 32 minutes.
The second half produced more of the same. Rudd missed a good chance on 55 minutes when a Clacton defender's back header found him with just the keeper to beat.
He made amends 10 minutes later when he headed home Spriggs' cross.
Heath-Preston put a 25 yard effort just over shortly afterwards and on 75 minutes substitute Tom White scored after Spriggs had put in another excellent cross.
Lynn began to tire and Clacton got a deserved consolation in the final minute from substitute Craven.
Disappointingly it was the Reserves lowest league gate of the season - a little surprising given that the first team were on one of their longer travels.
Lynn: McAnally, Buhlemann, Cussons (Gilchrist 81), Miller, Hammond, Harvey, Spriggs, Peters, Rudd (Vincent 78), Heath-Preston, Keleher (White 72).

Thursday 15 March
Under the terms of the loan arrangement Cambridge Utd have recalled Paul
Crichton from The Walks.
In respect of this Lynn have moved quickly to sign 22 year old keeper Danny
Crane who has been released by Cambridge Utd.
As a youngster Danny rose through the ranks at West Bromwich Albion before
joining Burton Albion and having a loan spell at Moor Green.
He then went on to Rushden & Diamonds.
Tuesday 13 March
King's Lynn 4 Cheshunt 1
Lynn moved up to third in the league table and closed the gap on leaders Bath City thanks to four goals from
Matt Nolan.
Lynn dominated the first half and easily won on corners and shots on goal - but few efforts were on target - a 25 yarder from Matt Nolan being the only shot that required any effort from the visiting keeper.
Cheshunt were tough tackling and quite verbal keeping referee Mr McCaul busy whilst Lynn lost Charlie Defty to an early injury.
Lynn took the lead from the penalty spot after Greg Crane was adjudged to have been pushed following a
corner - Matt Nolan blasting the ball straight down the middle.
Despite their dominance Lynn were not playing their best - too many times there were high balls into the visitor's half which were gratefully
accepted by the physically larger opposition.
Cheshunt pulled a goal back just before half time when ex-Linnet Michael Deane made a run down the Cheshunt left and centred for another ex-Linnet, Lee Allen, to score at the near post.
Cheshunt might have taken heart from their goal as they began to venture further
forward and looked dangerous - Keith Webb admonishing his defence when neither
of the two tall Cheshunt forwards were picked up in the box as the ball
was crossed in. Lynn, however, provided the perfect answer when a Frew centre
from the right was spilled by the keeper and Nolan was on hand to put Lynn back
into the lead.
Lynn introduced Jack Defty and his physical presence gave Lynn more options in
attack.
Nolan could have completed his hat trick when he rounded the keeper but his
delayed shot was blocked by a defender.
Lynn won a second penalty when Jack Defty was fouled and Matt Nolan put
the ball to the keeper's right. On 81 minutes Lynn competed the scoring - Jack
Defty setting up Matt Nolan for a simple tap in. Jack Defty then had a chance to
add his name to the scoresheet but shot over as Lynn ended well in control.
Lynn: Crichton, West, C Defty (McMahon), Warren, Crane, Fisk, Fell, Camm, Nolan,
Bloomfield (J Defty), Melton (Frew). Unused Subs: Harvey, Marshall.

Saturday 10 March
King's Lynn 2 Northwood 1
Lynn maintained their 100 per cent record against Northwood and continued with a
one goal margin which had been a feature of the three previous encounters. .
Lynn started the brighter of the two teams with Jack Defty shooting wide after two
minutes. It was Defty who looked to have given Lynn the lead on ten minutes when
he headed home Notman's corner but the number 7's swirling kick was adjudged to
have gone out of play before reaching the big number 9.
Neither side produced much in the way of worthwhile chances in the first half -
Lynn perhaps being rusty after the recent call-offs.
Melton forced Jaimez-Ruiz into a good save on 25 minutes with a long range
effort and three minutes later Frew's first time shot from 25 yards hit
the underside of the woodwork.
Just after the half hour Alex Notman was replaced by Danny Bloomfield to begin
his third spell at the club.
It was, however, the visitors that took a shock lead on 46 minutes when, direct
from a Damon Ming corner, the ball swerved its way into the back of the Lynn
net.
Six minutes later it was another corner and another goal - this time to Lynn. Stephen
Melton's kick was met at the far post by the diving head of Mark Warren to put
the scores level.
Lynn continued to have the better of the chances but had few efforts on target.
Then on 75 minutes Lynn went ahead when Jaimez-Ruiz's attempt to smother a long
range shot was spilled and Danny Bloomfield was on hand to score a trademark
opportunist's goal.
Northwood, however, were far from out of it and substitute Harry Hunt sent in
a stinging shot
which forced keeper Crichton into a tremendous one handed save.
Northwood continued to look dangerous on corners but there was no repeat of
Ming's earlier effort.
In the closing minutes Lee
Holland saw his effort hit the crossbar and Lynn were happy to play keep-ball in
the final seconds.

Re-Arranged Games
The Club feels the need to respond to the concern amongst some supporters into the impending rush of fixtures over the next few weeks
Firstly, we must stress that we have very little say in the dates for re-arranged away fixtures.
When offered various dates by Corby Town there were only two choices available.
The Wealdstone situation is a very difficult one.
As you all know they are only tenants of the ground that belongs to Northwood. When it appeared obvious that there was a major doubt over Tuesday's fixture, we quickly made representations to Wealdstone to try to play the game on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Following a meeting of the Wealdstone Directors, we were informed that this was not possible and that the ground could not be made ready in time.
With the current weather forecast set to continue for a time we felt the need to re-arrange these fixtures as soon as possible.
It is obvious that many other fixtures will fall foul of the elements and we expect to see many other teams having to play three games a week in the near future.
The Southern League have no plans to extend the season, they have always managed to complete their campaigns within the allotted time span and expect this season to be no different.
A further consideration is the refurbishment of the Main Stand, due to commence as soon as possible after the final ball of the season is kicked.
Any delays in doing this may well result in the stand being out of action for the start of the 2007-8 season.
Friday 2 March
Grant Cooper has accepted an offer from Maidenhead United and has left the club
- the transfer being completed at 13.50 this afternoon.
The club would like to thank him for all his efforts.
Thursday 1 March
Lynn have completed the signing of Danny Bloomfield from Heybridge Swifts for an
undisclosed fee. Danny who has a greed a contract to the end of the 2007-08
season, is expected to make his debut against Corby Town on Saturday.
Danny joined Heybridge at the end of December 2006 for £5,000 having departed from
Lynn to Histon for the same amount the previous February.
Making his debut for Heybridge on December 30th against East Thurrock he made
nine starts (plus two as sub), scoring once.
This will be Danny's third spell at The Walks having initially joined on loan
from Norwich City in November 2001 in a spell which saw him net seven goals in ten appearances.
He returned to Lynn in August 2004 making a further 84 appearances and scored 45 goals before moving on to Histon.
Saturday 24 February
King's Lynn 2 Banbury United 0
Ten minutes into this match there were just two questions - how long will it take Lynn to score and how many goals will they
get?
Such was Lynn's dominance and chances created in the opening stages.
Jack Defty, in his first start in a league match since 23 December, was the first to test Banbury keeper Judge and then Crane forced a good save with a header from
Luke Fell's corner.
Michael Frew, Dean West and Steve Melton all went close before Lynn went ahead on 31 minutes.
Defty's knock down found Sam McMahon whose controlled shot from just inside the box gave Lynn a deserved and long overdue lead.
In the next minute Lynn went further ahead when Frew set up Fell who finished from 10 yards
for Lynn's 50th league goal of the season.
Melton then tried his luck with an acrobatic overhead kick which went wide of
its intended target.
Banbury had their chances with Gardiner and Baird both forcing Crichton into a sharp saves.
The second half was, however, something more forgettable with Lynn's best chance falling to Nolan on 67 minutes but,
with only the keeper to beat, his shot went wide.
Alex Notman was introduced for the last ten minutes and had one goal attempt but this was over the bar from some 20 yards.
Banbury possibly deserved a consolation but it never came. Crichton did well to save a close-range header from Baird and in the final minutes Gardener had a
mazy run which allowed
him to again test Crichton who again dealt well with the chance.

Tuesday 20 February
Halesowen Town 2 King's Lynn 3
Halesowen lost for the first time since early December. Matt Nolan and Jack
Defty gave Lynn a 2-0 lead but The Yeltz pulled it back to 2-2. Then Matt Nolan
extended Lynn's unbeaten run to six games with a 90th minute goal.
Saturday 17 February
Cheshunt 2 King's Lynn 2
Both teams extended their unbeaten runs but the result will be one that neither
team particularly wanted.
The first half was a dour affair with Cheshunt taking the lead on 41 minutes -
ex-Linnet Lee Allen's corner being forced over the line by the Division's
leading scorer Darrell Cox in the resulting scramble. Lynn's efforts on goal in
the first half were few and far between - the best being a Matt Nolan effort
straight at the keeper on 37 minutes.
Three minutes into the second half and Lynn drew level when Andrew Fisk drove
home from the edge of the area.
Lynn introduced Jack Defty and his physical presence began to reap benefits.
His header finding Nolan who, in turn, fed leading scorer Matt O'Halloran but he
put his shot wide of an open goal.
Lynn were playing with ore determination and took the lead on 78 minutes.
Alex Notman's corner was half cleared to Camm, who played it back in for Defty to head across goal for Matt
Nolan to score from close range with a spectacular overhead kick.
The lead, however, lasted just two minutes - Darrell Cox once ore getting on the
scoresheet with a low shot from the edge of the area.
Lynn: Crichton, West, Blois, Cooper, Crane, Fisk (McMahon), O'Halloran (Notman),
Camm, Nolan, Frew (J Defty), Melton. Unused Subs: Cave-Brown, C

Central defender Grant Cooper has confirmed that he will be staying at the Walks for the remainder of the season. Cooper was the subject of an approach by Margate but following talks with club officials he has decided to remain a Linnet.
Steve Diggin has returned to Cogenhoe.
Wednesday 14 February
Lynn Youth drew at Downham Market to put them three points behind Division North leaders Blackstones with a game in hand but an inferior goal difference.
With five home and three away matches remaining anything can happen but the trip to Blackstones
(Stamford) on March 26 could be the decider.
Tuesday 13 February
King's Lynn 0 Rugby Town 1
Lynn have yet to beat Rugby Town in the Southern League Cup.
This was the seventh time of asking and Lynn, fielding a young team with only two players from the line-up that started against Bath on
Saturday, missed a number of chances before falling to a goal in the third
minute of injury time.
Lynn gave a debut to new signing Steve Diggin who was denied by a goal
line clearance as Lynn applied the pressure after a goalless first half.
Prior to the break Rugby's former Azerbaijan U21 keeper Farhad
Afandiyev had smothered a shot from Luke Fell whilst Jack Defty had also gone
close with a long range effort.
The second half saw more Lynn chances. Andrew Cave-Brown, Stephen Harvey going
close and Luke Fell hitting the woodwork.
At the other end Charlie Defty was on hand on two occasions to deny first Matt Gearing's goalbound
effort and then David Stone.
With the match looking to be heading towards a draw Jack Defty's effort was
cleared by Aaron Stringfellow with the keeper beaten.
Then Gearing's quickly taken free kick
caught out the Lynn's defence for skipper Craig Herbert to give the visitors a
victory they hardly deserved.
Lynn: McAnally, Cave-Brown, Buhlemann, Harvey, C Defty, Miller, Kelleher
(Spriggs 57), Fisk, Diggin, J Defty, Fell. Subs (not used): Hyde, Cussons, Rudd.

DIGGIN IN
Kings Lynn have today signed highly rated striker Steve Diggin from Cogenhoe.
The 19 year old has scored 25 goals this season for the UCL side. Diggin started
at Aston Villa and then had a spell at Wycombe.
He has also had trials with MK Dons and briefly with Bournemouth. He is expected to be involved
in Tuesday's league cup tie with Rugby at The Walks.
Saturday 10 February
King's Lynn 1 Bath City 1
A Matt Nolan penalty on 73 minutes gave Lynn an important point so that that gap between them and league leaders Bath City
remains the same.
Lynn were without captain Mark Warren who failed a late fitness test and started with the club's leading scorers Matt O'Halloran and Jack Defty on the bench.
Lynn had the better of the opening exchanges with Nolan having the perfect chance
on nine minutes when he beat the defenders, rounded the keeper but somehow his shot went just wide of the upright.
Grant Cooper and Michael Frew squandered free kick opportunities from just outside the area before Bath took the
lead on 23 minutes.
Mark McKeevor's free kick found Chris Holland whose glancing header went just inside the post.
The goal seemed to hit Lynn's confidence and it was not until well into the second half that they had another decent chance on goal.
Lynn had seen another free kick opportunity from Frew not produce the results but then a Dean West free kick from further out found the head of
substitute Jack Defty. His effort hit the upright with Bath 'keeper Paul Evans claiming the ball on the line.
On 73 minutes Matt Nolan fed the ball to Matt O'Halloran who was adjudged to have been fouled by City captain Jim Rollo and Matt Nolan converted the spot kick.
Lynn at last began to play with more confidence and urgency. Grant Cooper had an excellent chance when he beat the offside but, possibly not realising he had the time to chest the ball down and shoot, put his header wide.
Bath will, no doubt, be happier with the result than Lynn but there is still
much to play for.
Lynn: Chrichton, West, Blois, Cooper, Crane, Fisk (Notman 60), Cave-Brown (O'Halloran h/t), Camm, Nolan, Frew (J Defty), Melton. Unused subs: McMahon, Toms.
Att: 1203
It was confirmed after today's match that Frazer Toms has been released
by King's Lynn football club. We wish to thank Frazer for his efforts and wish
him well for the future.
Matt O'Halloran's booking today means he will miss the Banbury United game.
A goal at the end of each half saw Lynn Reserves slip to defeat at Needham
Market.
Lynn should have been two up in the first 20 minutes but home 'keeper Liam Jones denied Matty Peters with a great save and then Stephen Harvey missed from 15 yards.
Duncan McAnally produced an excellent save from a shot which took a wicked deflection and Lynn survived another scare when a Chris Tracy effort was cleared off the line.
Matt Banham scored for the home side from 18 yards on half time following a clearance from a corner.
Lynn had the better of possession in the second half but Jon Thorogood put the result beyond doubt with 8 minutes remaining.
Leaving Lynn are Ashley Keegan (Downham Market) and Liam Forshaw (CRC)
Lynn A won 5-3 at home to Gaywood.
Monday 5 February
Northwood 1 King's Lynn 2
Lynn moved up to third in the table thanks to two second half goals.
Northwood took the lead on six minutes and despite and number of chances falling
to Jack Defty, Alex Notman and Fraser Toms Lynn were still trailing at half
time.
Substitute Michael Frew sparked extra life into Lynn's attack - making the goal
that Steve Melton smashed home on 58 minutes and then being fouled some four
minutes later - Matt O'Halloran making no mistake from the resultant penalty to
become Lynn's leading scorer.
Saturday 3 February
Gloucester City 0 King's Lynn 2
Lynn gave a debut to loan signing Paul Crichton in goal for the injured
Marshall.
Greg Crane, who in midweek had signed and 18-month contract, kept his place at
the centre of defence with Grant Cooper back after suspension taking a place on
the bench. Andrew Cave-Brown was unavailable - at training camp in Malaga with
the Scottish Under 19 squad whilst Matt O'Halloran was on the bench still
recovering from a suspect hamstring injury.
Gloucester started brightly with Mustoe having an early shooting
chance after the ball came out to him following a clearance from a free
kick.
Lynn's first goal attempt came from a Toms header after West had supplied the
cross. Goalkeeper Johnston easily held his effort.
Lynn began to settle and on 26 minutes took the lead from a Frazer Toms corner
was flicked on by Nolan whose effort was saved by Johnston but the ball went to
Frew at the far post and his cheeky back-heel found the net.
The Tigers appealed for a penalty for hands by Crane but referee Amphlett would
have none of it.
On 50 minutes Michael Frew tried a lob from some 50 yards with home keeper
Johnston off his line but the goalkeeper recovered well to clutch the ball
just under the bar.
On the hour mark a snap shot from 25 yards by Gloucester's Webb caught out
Crichton in the Lynn goal but the ball crashed against the bar and was cleared
for a corner .
Lynn introduced Jack Defty for Frew and on 73 minutes he was involved in a
move which resulted in Andrew Fisk scoring with a rising drive from 20 yards.
A third almost came about just three minutes later but Defty fired over the
bar.
Defty then set up Alex Notman whose low drive was palmed round the post by
goalkeeper Johnston. Gloucester had two late attempts for a consolation goal but
Crichton saved well with his legs and Fisk cleared the rebound.
Lynn - Crichton, West, Blois, Warren, Crane, Fisk, Melton, Camm, Nolan, Frew ( J
Defty), Toms (Notman). Subs: Cooper, O'Halloran, McAnally. Booked:
Toms
Referee M Amphlett. Attendance 284.
Lynn Reserves 0 Lowestoft Town 2
Sometimes football can be cruel - and this defeat was both unkind and undeserved.
Lynn started brightly with Ed Cussons seeing his free kick from the edge of the area pushed over the bar by 'keeper Reynolds on five minutes.
Then on ten minutes Stephen Harvey had a shot just wide of the upright.
From the resultant goal kick Lowestoft took the lead through ex-Linnet Russell Stock who found
himself in space to easily push the ball past Rix in the Lynn goal.
For the remainder of the half Lynn continued to dominate but could not find the finishing touch with McMahon and Fell both going close.
Lowestoft were restricted to just the one serious shot which was straight at Rix.
On 44 minutes Lowestoft broke through and Stock and Carl Poppy found themselves 2 on 1 against Tom Rix.
Poppy rounded Rix but was felled as Rix tried to reach the ball.
Tom Rix, making his first appearance for the Reserves this season and ex-Linnet
Richard Woodward beat Dean Miller from the spot.
Despite the inferior numbers, Lynn still managed to create the better chances in
the opening period of the second half as Lowestoft seem to settle for the points
and created very little going forward. Dean Miller was only required to get his
knees dirty once and then did well to punch away one in-swinging corner. Both
teams introduced substitutes and Lowestoft came more into the game but, as
defending champions and hopefuls for this season, they disappointed.
Lynn: Rix, Buhlemann, Cussons, McMahon (Gaughran 66), Miller, C Defty, Spriggs
(Dwyer 58), Harvey, Rudd (Peters 77), Fell, Keleher.
Lynn A defeated Terrington in the League Cup 1-0
Friday 2 February
Lynn's main stand will be re-developed during the summer months in a £350,000 project.
The plans to renovate the 50-year-old stand were announced after securing a £150,000 grant from
the Football Foundation's 'football stadia improvement fund' (FSIF) in a
successful joint bid with partners West Norfolk council.
Council officials had already earmarked £200,000 of capital funding
towards the project which will provide a new roof, modern seating,
changing rooms and provision for a disabled supporters' section.
Building work is set to commence at the end this season and continue
throughout the summer ahead of the scheduled 2007/08 kick off in August.
“We are planning for the next five years - not just the current season
and this is further proof,” said Lynn chairman Ken Bobbins. “With a few minor
modifications we view it as another stage in bringing the ground up to a
7,500 football league standard stadium. We've been working on this
particular project for over two years. Floodlighting is another aspect
we need to address and that's something we are costing out at the
moment. When it's financially viable we will look to upgrade.
Bobbins revealed the club are poised to sign a new 25-year lease on the
council-owned facility.
Wednesday 31 January
With Shaun Marshall picking up an ankle injury, Lynn have moved quickly to sign Paul
Crichton from Cambridge United on loan to the end of the season.
Paul began his career at Nottingham Forest, although he made his league debut whilst on loan at Notts County (5 apps). He moved on to Peterborough (51), Doncaster (77), Grimsby (133) and West Brom (32). Loan spells have also been spent with Darlington (8), Swindon (4), Rotherham (6), Torquay (13) and Aston Villa. Joining Burnley during the 1998/99 season, he was first choice in their promotion season of 1999/2000
and made 92 appearances in total.
Signing for Norwich in June 2001 from Burnley for £150,000 he made his debut the
following January and went on to make six appearances.
Spells with York City, Stafford Rangers, Leigh RMI, Accrington Stanley and
Gillingham followed before signing for Cambridge United as player-coach in June
2006.
Tuesday 30 January
This evening prior to training defender Greg Crane put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at

Monday 29 January
Lynn Youth moved to within 5 points of leaders Blackstones tonight with a
4-3 win over the Division North pacesetters. It was Blackstones' second defeat of
the season whilst Lynn, unbeaten in the league, have three games in hand
although they still have to travel to Blackstones. Lynn scorers Vincent 3, Spittlehouse
Saturday 27 January
King's Lynn 4 Yate Town 0
The opening of this game gave little indication of what was to come as Yate started
the brighter of the two sides and keeper Marshall looked far from confident as
the visitors put in early crosses whilst going forward Lynn were again failing
to string their passes together and early shots failed to test Court in the Yate
goal.
A quickly taken free kick on twelve minutes gave Lynn the
lead. A shot pass to Nolan found him wrong footed and, unable to shoot allowed
the ball to brake to Andrew Fisk who
netted with a fierce shot off the underside of the bar from 20 yards.
Despite the goal, play continued to be scrappy but Lynn managed a second
goal when their seemed little danger, Steve Melton turning in a Michael Frew cross at the near post. Lynn
went further ahead two minutes into the second half when matt Nolan glanced home
Toms' corner at the near post to end the contest. In fact there was little seen
of the visitors attack until the closing stages whilst Lynn produced a number of
chances but often Lynn were arriving too early or too late to get the final
touch to their crosses. Within a few minutes of the introduction of Jack
Defty Lynn scored their fourth when he shrugged off the attentions of a defender
to cross the ball and, for once, there was someone their to receive it - Andrew Cave-Brown who took his time to score with some ease from close
range.
A deserved win and, eventually, a much improved performance but another stiff
task ahead with two away games in three days for the "big one" against
Bath City. Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Crane, Fisk, O'Halloran (Toms 30),
Camm, Nolan (J Defty 75), Frew, Melton (Cave-Brown h/t). Unused Subs: Notman,
McAnally
Booked: Frew. Att 703.
It was a good day all round with Lynn Reserves winning 2-1 at Ipswich Wanderers
to complete their first double of the season. All the goals came in the second
half - Martin Rudd and Luke Fell scoring within a minute after the home
side had taken the lead. Lynn A defeating Millfleet 6-0 (Webber 4, Hookes 2).
Tuesday 23 January
King's Lynn 2 Corby Town 1
Lynn had Norwich City trialist Lawrence Hunter in the team this 4th Round errea
cup match. He is the son of Norwich City coach Martin Hunter.
Steve Spriggs, making his first team debut, gave Lynn a 2-0 half time lead.
Hallows pulled a goal back for The Steelmen with 11 minutes remaining fro the
penalty spot.

Saturday 20 January
Team Bath 2 King's Lynn 1
Lynn lost their 100% record against Team Bath to a last minute effort three
minutes into time added on.
Lynn, without Alex Notman, started with Michael Frew
up front whilst Mark warren returned from suspension and Louis Blois following
the birth of his first child.
Lynn had a chance as early as the third minute when
Matt O'Halloran's header was punched away by the home keeper for a corner.
Nolan than had a header which deserved a better finish and Cooper forced a
fine diving save.
On 28 minutes Steve Melton saw his volley, following
Toms corner, blocked on the line and Nolan's follow-up was saved by the 'keeper.
Lynn took the lead on the half hour following a Team
Bath corner which was cleared by dean West and his ball found Michael Frew who held off the challenge of Metitiri to burst into the penalty area and shoot giving
Chitty no chance.
At the other end Marshall made a fine save to deny
Taylor's header. Lynn were worthy of their half time lead but the students were
proving quick in attack.
Lynn's lead lasted just three minutes into the
second half when Shaun Marshall juggled and then dropped a cross - the ball
falling to Neil Saunders who fired home through a crowd of
players.
Lynn's inability to make something from free kicks - so evident in their last
home match - once again proved a failing with Toms and Cooper the guilty
parties.
The home side were more of a force to be reckoned
with
and Lynn introduced all three substitutes as play
swung from end to end.
Then came the killer goal, Steve Abbott applying
the finishing touch to a Matt Townley cross after
Brian Tinnion's first shot was blocked.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Cooper, Camm , O’Halloran (Defty, 66),
Melton, Matt Nolan (Cave-Brown, 68) Frew, Toms (Fisk, 58). Subs (not used):
Crane, McAnally
Lynn A's league cup match at Terrington was postponed.
Friday 19 January
Andrew Cave-Brown's loan from Norwich City has been extended by a further month
which will mean he is available for the re-arranged game against Halesowen on 20
February.
Leaving Lynn for personal reasons is 'keeper John Higgs who looks likely to join
Dereham Town.
Monday 15 January
Lynn's Youth side kept up the pressure on the North Division leaders Blackstones with a 4-0 victory against Wisbech Town.
Lynn scorers Vincent 2, Browning 2
Saturday 13 January
King's Lynn 0 Clevedon Town 0
If Lynn's confidence had returned following their win at Chippenham last week, it evaporated
after the first ten minutes.
It started brightly enough with Alex Notman scuffing his shot having received a pass from
Nolan in the opening minute.
A couple of minutes later Nolan was through but opted out of a challenge from the
advancing keeper.
Clevedon then came back into the game and were twice denied by goal line clearances.
Firstly Haines' cross was
headed towards goal by Pitcher but Andrew Cave-Brown was on
hand to clear off the line and then minutes later Sheppard saw a header
cleared off the line by Cooper.
Lynn survived and created further chances but invariably shots were going hide or wide and
their passing often inaccurate. The best of these chances was from an O'Halloran corner
which found Crane but he somehow managed to side-foot wide from two yards.
Lynn won a number of free kicks around the visitor's penalty area but failed to create a serious chance on goal from these - Notman, Toms
and Cooper failing.
The second half produced little of note. Jack Defty was introduced at the
expense of Nolan but this only succeeded in reducing Lynn's attacking pace.
This was later remedied when Frew was introduced for Notman
and both he and Defty continued began to inject the pace and urgency that had
been lacking for so long.
Frew had a late effort which was saved by the visiting keeper - probably his
only serious save on the game. Three visitors players were booked along with
Cooper who will now be suspended for the Yate Town game Lynn: Marshall, West, Cave-Brown (Fisk), Cooper, Crane, Camm,
O'Halloran, Melton, Nolan (Defty), Notman (Frew), Toms, Subs: J Defty, Frew, Fisk, Higgs.
Andrew Cave-Brown
was withdrawn from the match as he picked up a knock for which he is now
receiving treatment at Carrow Road. He is a doubt for the match at Halesowen on
Tuesday. Louis Blois was not involved on Saturday as his wife went into labour.
Elsewhere Lynn Reserves went down 3-0 at Harwich & Parkeston whilst the A
team won 3-1 away at Watlington.
Wednesday 10 January
Following protracted talks, the club have had to accept defeat over their pursuit of Hitchin's striker Chris Dillon.
With the playing being contracted to The Canaries talks never progressed as far
as financial matters.
The search continues . . .
Saturday 6 January
Chippenham 1 King's Lynn 3
Lynn came under early pressure as they looked for the first win at Hardenhuish
Park and the home side forced three corners in two minutes.
Lynn began to
gain control
and a Fisk cross fell to Toms but his fierce shot was charged down with appeals
for a penalty falling on deaf ears.
Lynn took the lead on 29 minutes when Alex Notman's through ball found Matt O'Halloran
who scored his third goal in two games with a chip over the advancing
Snoddy.
Lynn went further ahead three minutes into the second half when Matt Nolan
blasted home from the penalty spot after Andrew Fisk had been brought down.
Chippenham used all three substitutes in a bid to get back into the game and
were awarded a penalty for hand ball against Warren. Shaun Marshall, however,
guessed correctly and Herring's kick was saved only to go back to him but his
second attempt was high over the bar.
Lynn introduced Jack Defty for Alex Notman and he scored his 60th goal for
Lynn after a 65th minute pass from Nolan.
Chippenham responded and O'Halloran cleared a goal-bound header off the
line with Marshall beaten. Chippenham weren't to be denied a consolation and
this arrived in the last minute through Milson following a goalmouth
scramble.
Lynn - Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Crane, Fisk, O'Halloran, Melton, Nolan
(Cave-Brown), Notman (J Defty), Toms. Subs: Camm, Harvey, Higgs. Booked:
Crane, Warren
Lynn Reserves 2 Needham Market 3
Needham Market went joint top of the league after coming back from a 2-0
half-time deficit.
Goals by Mark Heath-Preston and Martin Rudd had put Lynn ahead. Despite missing
a penalty on 53 minutes, Needham pulled a goal back five minutes later and drew
level the next minute through Jonathan Thorogood. Joint manager Chris Tracey got
the winner forcing the ball home following a corner.
Monday 1 January
King's Lynn 2 Rugby Town 1
Two goals by Matt O'Halloran
gave Lynn a much needed win.
The first half was something of a non-event. Lynn won territorially but only had two efforts worthy of note.
A back heel from Notman set up Nolan whose cross to the far post was met by Toms but his effort was saved.
Then two minutes before half time Matt O'Halloran was through with a one-on-one with the keeper but the ball went just too far in front of him and the keeper was able to gather.
Matt O'Halloran had been a thorn in the side of a disappointing Rugby team but his crosses were to often either gathered
up by the keeper or missed at the far post.
Lynn took the lead early in the second half when a foul on Toms resulted in a quickly taken free kick.
Nolan's cross in front of goal look to have evaded defenders and attackers alike but Matt O'Halloran was at the far side of the area to score.
The play became more open as Rugby had to go forward although their equaliser, on 57 minutes, came as something of a surprise when a high cross to the far post from Tullin went over the head of Shaun Marshall and hit the far upright and went into the net.
Lynn retook the lead five minutes later, once again through O'Halloran who had
been set-up by Notman, but had
two saves by Marshall, the upright and a disallowed goal to thank for their
three points. A deserved, if nervy, win for Lynn's first half domination but
Lynn will need to be on the mettle if they are to get anything from Chippenham
on Saturday.
Lynn: Marshall, Cave-Brown (West), Blois, Warren, Crane, Camm, O'Halloran,
McMahon (Melton), Nolan, Notman (J Defty), Toms. Unused subs: Fisk, Higgs.
