Matlock 3 Lynn 3

Paul Chapman slotted home two goals and helped win a penalty for the third as Lynn fought back to earn a point on Tuesday.
This puts Chapman on top of the early-seasons goal list with four in five games, his others coming in the midweek game at Worksop.
As Chapman joked afterwards: "Can we play all our games mid-week and under floodlights".
He was also guilty of missing some other chances - but not the only Linnet - which could have given the team a victory in this extraordinary game in which both sets of defences had their problems.
There was early indecision from the Linnets when Matlock attacked strongly on both wings, firing in hard low centres which led to several scrambles around the goal area.
So it was perhaps against the run of play when Keith Rudd set up the 15th minute chance for Chapman to put Lynn ahead, the striker taking advantage to run into an open space as he was played onside by an injured Matlock player. Although Chapman was forced to check back by a covering defender he was still able to guide in a strong shot.
Just after this Rudd attacked on the left flank and his penetrating run ended with a shot which flashed wide of the far post.

Then came the Matlock recovery, getting a fortunate equaliser in the 22nd minute when a shot from Walker was clearly deflected by Jimmy Wilson which left Ringwood completely stranded.
In the 35th minute a disputed free kick for Matlock found Lucasik who had a free header which he put accurately into the corner of the net, then in the 44th minute the defence opened alarmingly as Walker moved in and he powered a 25-yard shot past Ringwood.
But Lynn tightened up on the flanks in the second half and were soon asking all the questions. Rudd, Chapman (twice) and Pinkowski all had clear sights at goal before Chapman got the second goal in the 63rd minute, pushing the ball home from close range. Matlock appealed that the referee had awarded a penalty before the ball had gone into the net (which he appeared to do) but the goal was allowed.
Given this encouragement Lynn attacked strongly and now had Duncan Wiles in the front line for the injured Pinkowski. When Chapman was hauled down after making a run from the halfway line it was clearly a penalty and his 79th minute chance was put away by Wiles for the equaliser.
