Danny Hammond (Defender)
Born: 08/04/85
Playing debut: 21 February 2004 v Sittingbourne (H) League won 5-2
Signed on a two year two year contract in June 2004 after a possible opportunity in abroad fell through.
Hammond - who started in Sunday League football as a midfielder and striker - was called up to the England Under 16
training camp whilst at Cambridge United and had trials with Doncaster Rovers before joining Lynn in the autumn of 2003.
Chris Bacon (Forward)
Born: 24/01/84
Playing Debut: 24 August 2002 v Erith & Belvedere (H) League Won 3-0
Progressed through the ranks, a regular scorer in the youth and reserve sides.
Scored on his debut when coming on as substitute.
Made 30 appearances in the 2002-03 season plus 16 as used sub. Scored 19 goals.
Jack Defty (Midfield)
Born: 07/09/81
Playing Debut: 16 April 2002 v Dorchester (H) Dr Martens League Cup Lost 0-1
Progressing through the ranks, Jack made quite an impact in midfield on reaching the first team.
Made 34 appearances in the 2002-03 plus 2 as sub and scored seven goals.
In total 39 appearances, 7 goals.
Simon Bush (Forward)
Playing Debut: 5 February 2000 v Crawley Town (Away, League) Won 2-1
Born in Lynn. Another player who spent
time as a youth with the Woottons. Signed from Hunstanton Town - a proven goalscorer.
A regular with the reserves but has made a total of eleven first team league appearances, plus six as
sub, and has scored four goals. A further threen goals have come in cup competitions from three
appearances - plus seven as sub.
Adam Jones (Defender)
Born: 18/03/82
Playing Debut: 17 August 2002 v Dartford (a) League lost 0-3
Signed July 2002 on a one-year contract, he began his career as a professional
on the books at Mansfield Town, but had to retire from the full-time game after
injury.
Although fit again a return to a professional career is not straightforward as he
received compensation from the Professional Footballers Association when he "retired".
Gary Setchell (Midfield/Defence)
Born: 08/05/75 King’s Lynn
Playing Debut:
Played for Lynn, Fakenham and Wisbech in his early career before joining Conference side Kettering Town in 1999.
Played in then 2000 FA Trophy Final at Wembley before moving to close neighbours Rushden shortly afterwards.
Helped Diamonds to two promotions before being released at the end of the 2002/03 season.
Moved on to Tamworth where he was club captain but personal circumstances saw a move nearer "home" and a return
to The Walks in December 2003.
Carl Holmes (Midfield)
Born: 20/02/80
Playing Debut: 17 August 2002 v Dartford (a) League lost 0-3
Signed Summer 2002 from Stamford where he scored 18 goals in the 2001-02
season. Prior to that spent three seasons at Wealdstone where he was top scorer
for two of them. Started his footballing career at Northampton Spencer where
he also managed to be top scorer despite being aged 17.
Danny Bloomfield (Forward)
Born: 28/07/82
Playing Debut:
Returning to the club with a two year deal in May 2004. First signed on loan in the 2001-02 season from Norwich City
which saw him net seven goals in ten appearances.
Bloomfield’s career started with Felixstowe and Walton and he made his debut for Norwich City Reserves in December 2000.
Signed by the Canaries in January 2001 on a contract to last until the end of the season and eventually given a one year
contract in May 2001.
Joined Lynn on loan in November 2001, scoring on his debut against Grantham.
Injury in his last game for Lynn (against Morecambe) resulted in him missing the end of the season. Released by the
Canaries in March 2002.
Trialled with Cambridge United, Southend United, Cambridge City and Bournemouth where he eventually signed a one
year rolling contract in August 2002.
Loaned to Cambridge City for whom he signed permanently in November 2002.
In November 2003, Kings Lynn agreed a 4 figure fee with Cambridge City to take Danny back to the Walks.
This however fell through with Cambridge retaining their leading scorer who finished the season with 30 goals in 53 appearances,
finishing as the division’s top scorer along with Weymouth’s player-manager Steve Claridge.
In May 2005.top scorer Bloomfield turned down the chance to remain with Cambridge City for another year even though
they would be playing in the new Conference South.

Signed during the summer of 2003 from Ridgeons’ League club Swaffham where he was club captain.
Craig Fishlock (Midfield)
Born: 23/02/83 Middlesborough
Playing Debut : 17 February 2004 v Erith & Belvedere (a) League won 5-0
Signed February 2004. Released by Bradford at the end of the 2002-03 season and more recently
played for Guisborough Town.
Scored on his debut.
Mark Camm (Defender/Midfield)
Born: 0/10/81
Playing Debut: 21 October 203 v Banbury United (A) League won 3-0
Signed on a permanent basis in January 2004 following a successful loan spell.
Started his career at Sheffield United and then joined Lincoln City in the summer of 2000.
Made 14 starts for Lincoln City since joining the Imps, making his debut in November 2000 although in the 2003-04 season he was
been limited to one appearance on the bench.
Also spent time on loan to Gainsborough Trinity in the 2003-04 season.
Mark Angel (Forward)
Born: 23/08/1975
Playing Debut: 14 August 2004 v Team Bath (A) Southern League Won 5-0
Signed August 2004. Angel made 24 appearances for Boston United in the 2003-04 season in a career which
has also seen him make league appearances for West Brom, Queen of the South, Darlington and Oxford United.
Tony Battersby (Forward)
Born: 30/08/75 Doncaster
Playing Debut: 14 August 2004 v Team Bath (A) Southern League Won 5-0
Signed May 2004. Started as a trainee with Sheffield United in 1993 and then embarked on a
career which saw him at Southend, Notts County, Bury, Lincoln City and Northampton. He joined Boston United in
October 2002 and then moved on to Rushden, Hucknall, Stevenage and Gravesend and ended the 2003-04 season
at Cambridge City. In all he has made over 250 Football League appearances scoring nearly fifty goals.
Tom Doughty (Midfield)

Playing Debut: 30 August 2003 v Long Buckby (A) FA Cup Won 5-1
Joined from Swaffham Town towards the end of the 2001-02 season.
Previously with Watton. Midfield, wide player with plenty of skill and pace.

Aaron Osborne (Goalkeeper)

Playing Debut:
Signed August 2004. Norwich City Academy Scholar at Carrow Road in 2001 and played
for the reserves in the 2002-03 season.
At the end of November 2003, Norwich announced that they would not be giving Aaron a professional contract and he had
trails at Oxford United and then Bristol Rovers. Signed for Great Yarmouth in December 2003.
Steve Wilson (Goalkeeper)

First signed from Kettering Town in May 2001. During the 2000-01 campaign
Wilson made 17 league appearances for the Poppies, mostly at the start of last season plus
three in other cup competitions. In the 1999-2000 campaign Wilson made just three appearances -
playing understudy to Adam Sollitt.
In total Wilson made 21 appearances for the Poppies having signed for them on 13 Aug 1998. Prior
to that he was with Leicester City for four years, where he made 15 appearance for the reserves.
Left Lynn in May 2002 and joined Bedford Town but rejoined, initially on loan but then on a
permanent basis, in early 2003.
Made 15 appearances for Lynn in the 2002-03 season and, going into the 2003-04 season, 68 in his
two spells with the club
Mark Burrows (Defender)
Born: 14/08/80 Kettering
Playing Debut: 12 October 2002 v Ilkeston Town (A) FA Cup lost 1-6
The 6’ 3" central defender whose footballing career began as
a trainee with Coventry City’s Youth Academy.
His was on Coventry’s books from August 1998 to July 2000 when he was given a free transfer to Exeter City.
During his spell at Coventry he captained the City Youth team that won the FA Youth Cup in 1999.
He made 30 starts plus 11 appearances from the bench for Exeter (9 in the 2001-2002 season) before
being loaned to Merthyr Tydfil towards the end of 2001-02 season but returned to Exeter in April - his last
appearance being in the 2-0 defeat against Hartlepool in the last match of the season.
Burrows, who was on a short term contract with The Grecians, was released in September and has trained,
and made one appearance for Rothwell in to 2002-03 season (in the 2-2 with Dorchester).
Scored on his Lynn debut and made 39 appearances in the 2002-03 season, scoring 7 goals.
Robbie Harris (Forward)

Academy member who played for Wisbech Reserves during the 2001-02 season. Previously with Warboys.
Made 1 start plus 9 as used substitute in the 2002-03 season and scored four goals.
Daryl Sutch (Midfield/Defence)
Born: 11/09/71
Playing Debut: 14 August 2004 v Team Bath (A) Southern League Won 5-0
Signed August 2004 having made seven starts for Boston United plus two appearances as substitute in the 2003-04 season.
Prior to joining Boston Sutch was with Southend United for who he made sixteen appearances during the first five
months of 2003, scoring one goal. It is, however, Norwich City with whom Sutch is best remembered making 349 appearances,
scoring nine goals, between July 1990 and January 2003.
IN RESERVE
DEAN MAYES - goalkeeper, made good progress last season after joining the club from junior football. Important member
of promotion winning squad.
DANIEL BUHLEMANN - defender, composed player equally at home at centre half or full back. Has a good future at the club
if he maintains current progress.
PAUL HUNT - Midfield, football in the community officer and club coach as well as providing the experience in the side.
Great appetite for the game.
CHARLIE DEFTY - (b. 17/11/83) Younger brother of Jack and another player who has progressed from the
Youth and Reserve teams. Stylish, confident defender.
ROBBIE PALMER - 21, defender, former captain of youth team. Developed last season in to a very effective centre half.
SHAUN BELTON - (b. 07/01/84) midfield player, product of club academy system. Hard working player who also had a spell with Fakenham.
LUKE BRENDLING - 19, forward, joined club after a period at Rushden & Diamonds. Strong, hard working player with a good
first touch. Needs to score more goals.
MICHAEL WITHERS - (b. 03/01/86) defender, youth team skipper. Made good progress last season looking to become a regular starter this time round.
Previously with Ingoldisthorpe.
JACK REDHEAD - (b. 07/05/84) midfield, very skilful with an eye for goal. Dead ball specialist. Needs to stay clear of injuries to cement a regular
starting place in the side.
ALAN MURRAY - centre half, back with the club after a season abroad. Strong defender and a good organiser. A good run in the team
should see him back to his best.
LIAM FORSHAW - forward, youth team player who was in and around the squad last season. If he continues to progress should
get more opportunities this time round. Made first team debut at the age of 16 - v Newport IoW 20 September 2003
ADAM BURTON - defender, youth team player who can play at full back or centre half.
MARK HEATH-PRESTON - midfield, 17 year old who has joined from Downham where he last year played a full season.
Made first team debut at the age of 17 - v Corinthian Casuals (FA Trophy) 4 October 2003 Won 2-0
DARREN BLOODWORTH - Joint manager with Kevin Boon.
Began his second spell looking after Lynn on 14th November 2003 when he took on the caretaker role, with Kevin Boon,
following the sacking of Peter Morris. Their role was made permanent in February 2004 as Lynn topped the Dr Martens
Eastern Division - only to be beaten 3-1 by Tonbrige in Kevin and Darren’s first official match in charge. Despite this initial setback,
Lynn went on to win the Eastern Division title with a 2-0 win at Fisher Athletic on the final day of the season.
As a player started at Deeping and moved on to Holbeach United and then Bourne Town. Signed for Kettering Town in the season
they finished Conference runners-up and reached the 4th Round of the FA Cup.
Played in Hong Kong for KUI-TAN where he was selected to play in the league representative side against Norway and China.
On returning to England he signed for Boston United and then moved to Lynn toi be part of Peter Morris’s side that won promotion
to the Southern League Premier Division in 1996.
On retiring from playing regularly he became Youth Team (U16) coach at Cambridge United and then Reserve Team manger at Wisbech Town.
Became first team nanager at Fenland Park. Rejoined Lynn as assistant managed under Tony Spearing but left when Gary Mills took over as manager.
Returned to The Walks on Mills departure as Reserve Team manager.
Darren is now working as Director of the College of West Anglia’s football academy which is run in conjunction with Kings Lynn
Football club.
