St Neots 2 Lynn 4
A scintilating second half showing saw the Linnets bring an end to big-spending Saints' 46-match unbeaten run which, before Saturday, extended back to October 2009.
And Boon revealed Setchell's half-time team talk inspired the Linnets to their best display of the season in front of the biggest UCL crowd for than than 35 years.
Boon said: "Gary (Setchell) is so professional in the changing rooms and he is the only one who talks to the players before, during and after the game.
"At half-time he gave one of the most inspired team talks he has delivered all season and the players took on board what he said and responded in such a fantastic manner in the second half."
Boon drew comparison with the club's final-day Eastern Division title triumph at Fisher back in 2004 after more than 900 travelling fans saw Town stun the team widely-known as ‘St Notes'.
"Our fans were absolutely fantastic and our performance and them reminded me of the day at Fisher, but better," said Boon.
"That crowd was worth at least a goal to us. In the second half the atmosphere lifted the players and they responded. They are such a massive asset to this club and I hope they will make as much noise when we play them at home in the FA Vase next Saturday."
Fellow joint boss Gary Setchell admitted his side continue to set the standards when it comes to the big games.
"Over the last few weeks we've continued to raise the bar every big game we've played in,"said Setchell.
"We did it at Beckenham, raised it again at both Wroxham and Norton and Stockton and have raised it even further by beating St Neots today.
“I felt we showed St Neots too much respect in the first half but Kevin and myself still felt we had the players who could hurt them with Jack, Spriggsy and people like that. We felt we could get at them.
“At half-time we said to them we didn't look like we believed in ourselves enough. I know we'd been against the wind, but I said if we had a real go at them second half we can win the game.”
After an early effort from Jack Defty had been ruled out for a clear hand ball, St Neots swiftly broke up field and Town defender Ross Watson took out Stefan Moore in the box and Lewis Webb fired home the resulting spot kick.
Alex Street pulled off a fine double save to deny both Stefan Moore and Webb's follow-up as the Saints looked to double their early advantage.
The Linnets levelled matters when Chris Bacon, a surprise inclusion in the side ahead of Robbie Harris, picked out Spriggs on the right before drilling the ball home.
Three minutes before the interval Moore produced a clinical finish to fire St Neots back in front.
But the Linnets, encouraged by some magnificent travelling support, were far from finished.
Spriggs calmly beat Hogan, who remained glued to his line, for his and Town's second after Defty flicked-on Ross Watson's throw.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, a long goal-kick from Street found Defty, who outpaced the leggy-looking Glen Fuff before sidefooting the ball past a hesitant Hogan.
Defty headed against the post with a snap header but, shortly after, Spriggs completed his hat-trick when he drilled a past a bemused Hogan just inside the box.
Street's magnificent reaction stop foiled Kieron Davies but so were Lynn in control there were few scares for Th Walks outfit in the final 25 minutes.

Kings Lynn Town Reserves 8, Rothwell Corinthians Reserves 2
Despite being without their Norfolk County Youth Team Players, the Reserves Management elected to play the game against Rothwell
Corinthians, with whom they had drawn 3-3 at Rothwell earlier in the season.
In blustery conditions, Lynn got off to a flying start, after just seven minutes, Adam Reeve beat his full back, crossed to the back post, where
young Nathan Daw, rose to head into the bottom corner. After two more chances for Lynn, the visitors equalised after 20 minutes. James
Spittlehouse headed clear, but the ball was returned for Jack Johnson to parry, with a Rothwell forward being first to the rebound. Lynn
regained the lead after 29 mins. Beales and Moreira combining to deliver a centre which Adam Reeve headed into the net. A third goal
followed just three mins. later when good play by Luis Duarte and Reeve saw the latter's cross headed home by Nelson Moreira. Rothwell pulled
another goal back after 34 mins. when some poor Lynn defensive play saw a powerfull shot rip past Johnson. Lynn restored their two goal
margin with a goal on 40 mins. when Kevin White supplied Nelson Moreira with superb defence splitting ball which the Lynn centre forward
drilled past Waters in the visitors goal. H.T.: Kings Lynn 4, Rothwell Corinthians 2.
Johnson was the first keeper to defend his charge in the second period, coming quickly off his line to block a through ball. Just after the hour mark,
Lynn put the game beyond the visitors reach, with 3 goals in the space of just four minutes, all scored by Nathan Daw. First, he converted a low cross from Duarte, then, following a free kick, a quick turn and shot into the bottom corner. Finally, Matthew Franks, on a as a substitute, lifted
a ball over the defence for Daw to run through and force the ball past Waters.
Rothwell's final attacking ploy came to nought after 72 minutes, when after a foul awarded agains Ed Paterson, they were awarded a penalty
kick. The Rothwell player striking the cross bar with his shot, the ball rebounding clear. Lynn still had one more shot in their locker. A long,
wind assisted goal kick from Johnson bounced over the Rothwell defence for Nelson Moreira to flick the ball past Waters into an empty net.
Lynn's younger players has taken their opportunity well and fully deserved their success. The victory was the Reserves eighth successive win
and took the Team to the top of UCL Reserve Division 2. Next week, with their County players back, they travel to Boston Town Reserves.
Team: Johnson, Rawlings, Duarte, J.Spittlehouse, Paterson, K.White, Biles, Daw, Moreira, Beales (Franks), Reeve. Sub: N.u. Hawes.
Attendance: 45.
