Well, we know that the budget is something like £2300 per week. Ross was on £140ish at Stamford, and came to you boys for more money, so I guess £150-200 is the average at the minute.

I don't think Ross was on that much with us, but I spoke to him days before he moved to you guys, when Clarke our manager at the time, as he did with the lad, refused to answer Watsons calls and you are right, he moved for a good deal more money than he was with us

As in any team, some will command more than others, and normally with forwards, as was the case with Defty, and just as likely Dunks and for no other reason than what they give a  team...goals, will be given better money than say, full backs, CH's, or  even midfield players. Its always been the same and always will

The secret is how then manages the budget for what's left over. For every player that may earn £300 there has to be two or three that play for £80.00/£140

I'm only basing the £140 on a conversation I had with Adam Weston's brother. Weston was on £125, so I assumed Rosco would be on a bit more.

and the proof of this? As for the gate price £10 in line with most teams. If the budget that everyone knows so much about is same as last season, cant see why price should change.

Everyone knows the budget, Ben, as the club published it at the start of the season when the punters through the gates dropped.

£150-200, wingwizard.

Edit: My bad. Playing budget was £116k. Over, say, 36 weeks, that's £3,200 a week. Over 18 people, that's £175/ week for every member of the the matchday travelling party.

I speculate that Jack was on £400ish?

Why would Spalding not match his Lynn wage setch got three players for the price of jack

You've done well there, loops.

I said Spalding will probably match Dunks's lynn wage.

It would appear Robins was at the play of final, but the thought of him as was whispered of him joining us would horrify me, and I cant believe you would welcome him at KL Kevin. That also pre-supposes that he is of the metal that would see him trek all the way from Leicester two, three times a week and on a 'clear road' a two hour each way journey

It would put his wages, and am guessing here, at around the £350 mark (£100.00 of that would go on petrol?)

As for Dunks, the chances are is will be either playing locally or in the UCL, that being the case, surely Spalding would be favourites to sign him

Ooh. I was just about to suggest Spalding. Pat will probably match his lynn wage and there'd be half the travelling for him (though no lift share as I don't think any of the current Spalding lot live Northampton way. Not to say one of next season's 40 odd players that they'll get through won't!)

Good to see you and Alan Biley enjoying yourselves on Friday night. Why did he have a Rod Stewart wig on?

Last season you bought a few in who had played at a higher level - Gulliver, Dunkley, Lee, Gay, Forshaw (didn't work, granted). I think you'll need to do the same. Not sure if Quigley or Bunting have played higher. I guess Quigley has age and endeavour on his side.

Didn't the board not realise they had to pay business rates, or something, and therefore hiked the entrance price at the turnstile at the turn of the year?

They do seem a bit of a shambles.

Would they definitely have gone up in second place? I think Step 4 was expanding by a couple of places, so they wouldn't have been subject to the same criteria as you lot last season.

AGL, Pop that fishing rod away... I cant think anyone would want to bite, can you ?

Ha! I'm not fishing. Just intrigued. There will need to be a decent hike in the budget to be competitive next season (look at Grantham) and the money will have to come from somewhere.

I actually think your attendances will increase next season.

How's the budget looking, does anyone know?

What was Buster's attendance figure to break even this season? Did the early season rallying cry / scaremongering work?

Can you afford to go up? Will the price go up?

These post still make me laugh...

How's the budget looking, does anyone know?..................... Whats it got to do with you ?

What was Buster's attendance figure to break even this season? Did the early season rallying cry / scaremongering work?..........Again , whats it got to do with you ? / I doubt it

Can you afford to go up? Will the price go up?........possibly...again possibly

Your chairman went very public with the fact that liabilities couldn't be met unless crowds improved / the budget was cut. The club's (simplistic) figures made no allowance for cup runs so I assume it is these monies that has filled the gap left by the drop in attendance.

looks like it's a question of motivation - beating Lynn and drawing with Coalville, yet losing to 'lesser' teams.

It's a shame - if you'd been at home i'd have popped along.

I must have watched Corby a dozen times this year and have to say few players stand out as good or consistent enough for you guys if as now expected you go up, to arguably the Evostick South, which I think is where they may be heading as well.

Pierganni, a Peterborough lad, and his fellow centre half Paul Malone who you tried to sign from us a couple of seasons ago would be two possibilities as perhaps would be the much travelled Ryan Semple their most consistent player this season by miles, but many are quite average, certainly by Conf North standards hence their relegation

You could have built a case for Josh Moreman who started off brilliantly but who has been dire since xmas, but most no, you wouldn't want

I'd echo what H says, though only saw them a couple of times.

I bet the boy is feeling a bit smug, H, but probably tempered by Stamford's phenomenal choking.

Truro away  600 miles aprox round trip lets hope it's an evening game in december (not )
Early august would be handy for a holiday.
But in all seriousness the cost of travelling in either the north or south divisions  will  be horrendous over the whole season.
I Expect the cost may have to go as 20% of all income goes straight to the VATman .
Could stay the same if more people come and watch home games.
Also what ground improvements will need to be done  and these arnt cheap
like all things the higher up the ladder you go the more expensive it gets

Isn't travel an expense? If the club bought / owned a mini-bus, you'd get the VAT back on the fuel straight off the bat, not to mention how much a capital asset can depreciate in a year!
