Thought they deserved it after some tremendous defending, good goal keeping, excellent counter attacking and a fortunate penalty. Sometimes you have to remember how young these lads are and the quality of football that they play - well done to them although i 'follow' Chelsea.

Just goes to prove that anything
Can happen in the play offs. I would have put Stamford at the longest odds of all the 4 teams but congratulations to them for beating the two teams which were in the best form. If it is Northern for us at least the smallest amount of travelling

Have a look at this map, wherever we go there is a fair amount of travelling but i think Whitby and Blyth are a bit closer than Bideford and Truro (as lovely as Bideford and Truro are)!

Linnets' Forum / Re: Observations from The Game

Yes it was very tense, particularly in the second half when Sheffield put us on the back foot for long periods of the game and we looked nervy with some misplaced passes. When it became 1-1 i just wondered how it would turn out. At the beginning i thought Sheffield were just going through the motions but they were a very good side.

Well the referee certainly wasn't doing an East Anglian old pals act and overall although thought he got most decisions correct. As Rod says a hard job at the best of times.

Although i haven't seen too many matches this season, Setch has created a very workmanlike side with a solid centre back pair and a battling and skilled midfield. Of the last 11 matches, they didn't concede any in 7 matches and only 1 each in 3 others.

Chuffed to bits for all at King's Lynn FC, these are very special days!!

Mick, nobody  could have seen Coalville's result coming i know they are on a bad run but Newcastle hadn't won in 9 games. I am glad the Market Drayton one is on a saturday.  Mr Setchell keeping the right frame of mind just thinking about the next game. I enjoyed yesterdays even though i thought we gave the ball away too easily at the back, just felt we needed a bit more organisation there. Otherwise solid - I enjoyed Danny Beaumonts performance

Linnets' Forum / hard run in
« on: March 31, 2013, 12:32:26 PM »
Coalville have at home: Gresley, Halesowen, Market Drayton, King's Lynn and Chasetown
away:  Stamford, Leek, Rainworth MW and Newcastle

Lynn have home: Sutton Coldfield, Sheffield and Loughborough
away: Stamford, Halesowen, Coalville, Market Drayton and Belper

outsiders Belper have home: Northwich Victoria and King's Lynn
away Mickleover, Hucknall, Romulus and Leek

Top two have equally hard run in, still lots to do but i think the momentum is with us at the moment

Linnets' Forum / Re: Kidsgrove Ath Tuesday Night
« on: March 27, 2013, 08:35:07 AM »
Well first time i have been for ages, financial reasons - it was perishingly cold last night, i am sure that kept numbers down as well as England playing a 'vital' qualifier.
I thought the defence played well especially Mr Lee, Jepson very busy in midfield, some superb touches and passes by Jacob and i thought Tolley battled well. I think the disappointing element was our passing which drastically needs improving, Kidsgrove were far better on that score and on occasions did look threatening.
Referee did well but missed our defender who got the ball but caught their number 11 with his studs - that tackle made me take a deep breath in.
Another deserved win though and i am sure a fillip for teacher Steve who sits in the main stand who is recuperating at the moment. Get well soon!!
