After stepping out of the closet, 25-year-old winger Robbie Rogers promptly resigned. Why did he feel he couldn’t go on? Attitude’s Colin Crummy investigates the taboo of homosexuality in football You are a gay professional footballer and thinking of coming out, so you’d probably do what anyone does in 2013 and Google it. Always got an answer, the internet. There, you’d find the good news that former Leeds United player Robbie Rogers just came out. And simultaneously, the 25-year-old US international retired from the game. You feeling like a glass half-full kind of guy? You’d probably think about gay heroes in the other sports. Rugby union has former Welsh international Gareth Thomas. England cricketer Steven Davies came out in 2011. The sky didn’t fall in. more in the article http://www.shortlist.com/entertainment/sport/cultured-left-foot-great-engine-dates-men

Ha ha .. More positive ? The promotion of this club is never more than a button away all day long in one way or the other.
Tomato / Tomatoe . The joy of interpretation of the written word.
Please feel free to actually highlight the other non/less positive posts about the club please Chris.

Certainly was, Bath on a Tuesday night all good fun. Good nostalgia. The tactical use of Shaun Carey that night was spot on.

I don't think Braggers is dragging the trust into things, more questioning your opinions Julian, well thats the way i read it anyway.IMHO.
Perhaps, I should therefore point out my support of Hospital Radio, the general soul of football , the fight to save Hucknall Town or the issue against Bubble policing then all in my last 20 posts and not a mention of the B&G S/Trust. http://www.thelinnets.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=2539

Once again Julian you have managed to p**s on the parade.Do you ever have anything positive say?Unless it involves the trust you are always very negative about peoples ideas.... And that's my 100% personal opinion
Not at all Chris. Please feel free to point out my other negative views on here. Would you rather me plant roses around the issue then fail to water them, rather than be honest. I wish all involved in the project the best and I will of course support in whichever way I find personally appropriate. The Trust has nothing to do with this issue, and tbh cannot remember the last time I sang the praise of it on here but as usual it took a long while for someone to drag it into the subject one way or the other. Please feel free to use my post as a "I will bloody show him" post.

Jules. I can't really see that really being an issue, as I can't see a single penny coming from that area anyway.
I believe the best that could be expected is cooperation and the use of the facilities to achieve what some of the fans are aiming for. As we all know how the facilities were funded, I would like to think it would not be a problem.
Lets see if Grissles can work some magic on that one.

I don't disagree. just clarifying the accounts issue, history wise, so far . Finding a venue to hold an initial meeting should not be problematic, nor the club cooperation wise in a vocal support way, unfortunately in my opinion putting the whole package of this project together will be, in all directions. With crowds of only just over 600 and a more than adequate ground on all 4 sides , I personally see this whole idea as a folly. In general terms ensuring we have a club, supporting/funding a team (in various ways not all financial) to get promoted and then holding that level for the long term / foreseeable future would be much higher on any agenda for all fans than a singing corner that a few people will use to shelter from the rain in silence - from my point of view. Just to clarify this is a 100% personal opinion.

Home & Away, if he has added value, then surely you would expect him to claw that back if and when the time comes for him to bow out.
The 2 sets of accounts show no investment left in to claw back ... both sets are clear of director loans and shares , still worth £1 in share value. Any money put in was gifted or put in as cash and taken back during each separate year . Would any one be happy if the money put in to build a new (not in my personal view necessary) stand was put in as director loan ?

What the bar question? Well we all know that the club reads the forum,so maybe someone could come back with an answer?
Surely a phone call would be more appropriate.

Column by Ian Herbert on Sporting Intelligence website Obtained under FOI and just 4 days before the judgement Tell me why … the South Yorkshire Police can’t stop distorting the truth on Hillsborough David Crompton, the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police, had apologised for “inappropriate and insensitive” remarks in an email last year that essentially accused the families of the Hillsborough victims of lying about the disaster. Ian Herbert reflects on another depressing setback in the struggle for truth and transparency about a disaster that claimed 96 lives – and reveals what the principal author of the HIP report, Professor Phil Scraton, says Crompton’s email tells us about the police’s attitude. . Tell me why the South Yorkshire Police force can’t stop trying to manufacture a version of events about what happened at Hillsborough – and instead let the truth speak its own name. The force has been compelled to release under Freedom of Information legislation an email that South Yorkshire’s chief constable David Crompton dispatched early on a Saturday morning last September, four days before the publication of the Hillsborough Independent Panel’s report. Crompton was seeking a meeting with his assistant chief constable, Andy Holt, and head of media, Mark Thompson – or “Gents,” as he calls them. http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2013/02/25/tell-me-why-the-south-yorkshire-police-cannot-stop-trying-to-distort-the-truth-about-hillsborough-250201/

Provision of pre made parts does not need a specialist builder . The builder merely assembles the parts they order. I see it as this, establish a real working group with the necessary skill set involved from the start and see where it goes from there. No one in the working group should benefit financially from the project. Get a proper plan of action and costings for each stage, find out the pitfalls, how to raise the money and the list goes on. If its for the fans by the fans then keep the fans involved every step of the way, nothing is commercially sensitive about it.
This is well before a penny is raised.
In all truth this will establish how the project needs to go on. I raised the topic of tender for transparency reasons. Lets not get hung up on it.
I will just clarify this is from a 100% personal viewpoint , before anyone twists it.

The base premise is fine John. Doesn't need a specialist builder at all. It is not a necessary complicated build.
If it ever got that far , it would need to got through planning and all that comes with that first. Costs involved at this stage. It does need to go out to general tender for reasons of transparency. In a utopian world, a fan may step in to do the build at cost of material and it could of course, insurance allowing utilise fan involvement in all stages to save monies.
