Do you know if the Club Chairman has put his weight behind this in favour of Mick gaining this award?
As he has been in contact with these people very recently on other matters, he must be on reasonable speaking terms with them.
Do you think it would assist if the Chairman of the Club publicly backed the campaign (if he's not already done so)?

I wold hope Mr Bland has been putting forward the case. Mr Cleeve's backing might be useful but as he wasn't around when Mick was playing it would be rather hollow.

As a born and raised linnet he was major name in the town and a absolute credit to his career, oh and he is in the quiness book of records, enough said!!!

Mick was a true sportsman in the broadest sense and a wonderful role model and the council's decision was illogical and unreasonable and just plain stupid!! But what else would one expect from a body of public (self) servants!?
