I think Setch should be given another chance to get it right. Then even if we get over 100 points and are not winners then he would have to go.

Hows about if The Linnets adopt the Lynn Stars
Method of Management. Buster puts the team together then passes it on to a manager/coach. It's made the Stars successful throughout the noughties. Could it work in football ?

As I recall wasn't Chinn telling Webb to play Jochim ? Is that not the same kind of thing ?

If Setch was to leave, how many players would he ultimately take with him? We would be left with the players that he has identified as not up for it. Where would that leave any new manager?

When Carl Heggs took over what did he inherit ? Didn't seem to do him any harm

So every two years, when a manager fails to achieve he is sacked and we start the team from scratch again? Fine way to win anything/nothing - one step forward and one step back = stand still.

That happened quite a bit  in the  80's and early 90's. Got rather used to starting  a season with a new manager and team then half way through said manager  sacked, new one appointed.

If we gain promotion and get placed North, would many of these players want to stay anyway?

Hasn't it previously been the case that we have had to wait to see where we are playing, before the manager knows who he is going to try and sign?  :dontknow:

WTF!!!!!!!!

Are seriously suggesting that they sack a manager who only lost two games, and they were to the Champions.

Get over it.

We were not good enough, pick yourself up, and look forward to next season.

Man up!

So fans with a different opinion on the matter need to man up? Wouldn't manning up involve understanding others have different opinions, because you have an opinion why should you be calling what is the right opinion to have and what is wrong?

In my opinion it's ridiculous to think we have anything to be happy about just because we scored over 100 points, it's a bit of a stuck record that one and a little boring to read. I'm sure you think the same to my reply but that's the joy of life and internet forums, opinions will always differ.

Would be nice if a few more people on here were able to accept others thoughts and stop trying to rubbish anything people say that doesn't fit in with it.

The reason we gained in excess of 100 pts the last 2 seasons simply reveals what a relativly weak league we have contested. In the four league games that really, really mattered in that time, St Neots and Long Buckby X 2, we gained only 3 out of the 12 points. That meant failure.

You can't succeed without good motivation and discipline, and it's near impossible to achieve either if the manager is too pally with the players. Carl Heggs and the Sinclair fellow were brilliant at both. And they have unfinished business at King's Lynn FC.

I dont care whether the players are local. Where would the Manchester clubs be if they relied upon local players?
