I'm with Linnet71 on the subject of gates. I'd say that a good few will inevitably drift off if we're not challenging at the top. League standards aside, people have got used to a team that wins the majority of its games over the last two years. It's easy for people to get carried away and some may find the step up in standards a shock to the system.

From more recent experiences such as the two years in the DM Eastern and the subsequent four in the Southern Premier, there were only ever a small minority of clubs that brought away fans to The Walks, and certainly never enough to significantly swell the attendance figures.

Speaking to a few St Neots fans and they told me that the standard of football wasn't that much higher, having watched a few games there last year i have to agree, one team they walked all over, the other they struggled to play against.

Different league Griss?  Much as there has to be a 'levelling' at step 5 or 4 or whatever, do you really think the UCL was the same standard as (say) the Northern League that contained both Vase finalists?  I would suggest there are enough 'names' in the Evostick One South to suggest we will come across teams considerably harder than the club faced this season

TonyM    It's all  about catchment areas also, teams Lynn will be facing are able to draw from more good quality league clubs in the Midlands ie. retiring pro's and academy players who didn't make it.

If we play to our potential, don't see any reason why we should not be challenging for a play off place.

A few months ago some were saying that last season's team would have beaten Heggs' team from 2009.

Going to be a case of wait and see, although I must admit I'm excited about pre-season already. Hate all this no football lark.

I think not! Even with the new additions.

I would go as far as to say that the Heggs team would have been at least conference by now. :scarf:  :scarf:  :scarf:

we'll win more than we loose and we'll finish in the top half.
It's only words at the end of the day.

Difficult to call this. Last time we played at this level we were dropping down a league rather than coming up. It's dificult to compare the two linnet teams as they were playing vastly different standards the season before.
I would be disappointed if we weren't approaching top 6. We should have a healthy budget (there's that word again) compared to alot of teams.

I''m going to go with being happy to survive. I think mid table is a good year. Play-offs or automatic promotion then its been an amazing year.

I must say, I'd have been disappointed with mid-table, BEFORE the recent signings!
Play offs should surely be the lowest expectation?

Does anyone know how this league sets its fixture list? Will it be like UCL who announced a few games at a time and seemed to set up for a grand finale?
Remember Team: if your attack is going well - it's an ambush! and: dominate the ground of tactical importance - that's the whole pitch guys!
