Is this the Dan Quigley playing Sunday football for Northampton Sunnyside Corinthians who starts the season suspended from all football for two matches?

  perhaps you should give the club a hand and check out the other new arrivals just in case as its not a strong point of theirs.

So after 7 1/2 pages of whether Mr Quigley is or isn't a nice bloke (and I really don't have much of an opinion either way), my biggest concern is yet again we have gone to the UCL when recruiting.  Why is everyone, from Buster downwards, talking about mounting a promotion challenge at step 4 with what amounts to nothing more than 'good' step 5 players?  The only player I would exempt from that comment is Dunkley as he was a class apart that day at Buckley, but perhaps that also says a lot about the standard of player we have retained/signed.

I know many Lynn fans (and owners) love to be the big fish in the little pond, but if we are serious about pushing on in the northern leagues why do we seem to have centred our recruitment in Northamptonshire, could no one at the club provide Setch with a map in the off season?

Sounds like good business especially with the loss of Sam Gauran. The past is exactly that. Give the lad the chance to prove himself.

My thoughts exactly! We are signing step 5 players to mount a challenge at step 4?

If it keeps going like this, we'll be recruiting from local leagues, then Step 5 players will look like a luxury.

fair enough point of view but 100% disagree. With anything in life you can go so far. This one went too far.Rather him not be here.
It is not very often I make a comment on this forum; but here goes; I like to take you up on that logical comment of yours vulcan Quote;"fair enough point of view" you own words; so if you a fair enough point of view then you can,t be 100% right because by saying the word fair youare less than 100% right , wo let be honest none of us are 100% right other wise we would be Gods; and that we are not; so let us all not elevate ourself and stop being hypocrites, notice I am putting myself in this category as wel; this lad has reach his nadir if you don,t know what that word means it means the bottomless pit and once again all of us have reached that unsavoury distinction in our livesl;2nd point; your quote again " you can go so far" well we hope he will go that far witha positive attitude and perhap take this club with him to much higher level; that is his zenith . opposite to nadir; remember the old saying ; he that has no sin cast the first stone; ok he did abuse some portion of the crowd but don,t you think he had the courage to come to a club where he will face the same crowd he confronted with a sense of passion; iam not a football strategist; as some of you wise gents are; this boy is not a pirlo or gerrard but if he click for this club then this club is going to benefit; rather him than cousins; webb; or even gaughran; give him a chance ; give him a clean start with a fresh club he wants to play for; and don,t judge him before he has even kicked a ball; treat him right and he could be saintwith us; put our demons and his demons to rest once and for all

I was one of the Lynn supporters abused by Mr Quigley at LB so I think I have earned a three pence worth. I have read all the rhetoric in the last few days I saw the banter and abuse the LB players got from a partizan Lynn crowd as should be expected he reacted very badly BUT as has been said let him channel his passion and anger to our cause. I have watched football at all levels for 50 years and players I have abused one week have played for my team the next, that is life. WE SHOULD BE BIGGER THAN HIM GIVE HIM A CHANCE IF WE DRIVE HIM OUT MAYBE THE OTHER LB PLAYERS WILL FOLLOW. Be careful of what you wish for.

Equally, if they are prepared to give it out they should not be surprised if they get it back. I really can't believe that any big strong footballer would be the slightest bit worried about comment's on a fans forum. Of course, it can be used as an excuse for people changing their minds about joining, but I would never believe that.
On that point, it may be convenient for some to point the finger at this forum, but the comments on here have been very mild compared to some comments posted on other social sites by some well known fans, about this episode and other ones.
What they did was monstrous.
And they have created a monster.

If anyone tries to blame forum comments for players departing before kicking a ball should read comments. Out of the 3 players discussed in any great depth on the forum,2 got nothing but positive comments, the other one got slagged off, which one is still a Lynn player? :dontknow:

You're getting far too observant and logical!

Does it come with age?

I agree informed comment on the Forum is a sign of a healthy Football Club but when it spills on to the Football Pitch when any player whether Mr Quigley or any others are abused for mistakes it wiil erode confidence and results. We do not turn on our own even if we do not like them.

Duke, I think that the point is that some would like to blame this forum for everything, whereas there have also been comments on other social sites. The content of some of those comments would not have been permitted on here.
