That Carl Crabtree was Frome’s man-of-the-match is indicative of Lynn having the better of the chances, particularly in the first half.
It was Crabtree’s second appearance of the season, his only other outing being on Boxing Day when he was also the Reds man-of-the-match in the 1-1 draw against Basingstoke.
Both teams were below full strength but Lynn stated brightly with Ryan Hawkins testing Crabtree in the first minute and Sam Gaughran heading Michael Clunan’s a free kick wide a few minutes later.
Further chances fell to Chris Ward and Clunan before Frome’s first real chance came on the half hour, Darren Jefferies firing over.
Crabtree then managed to get his face in the way to save a Chris Ward shot but in the next minute Ryan Hawkins burst into the area and was grounded but any thoughts of a penalty were not needed as Ryan Harwell put the ball into the net.
In the last minute of the first half Crabtree once again did well, this time denying Kegan Everington.
The visitors came more into the game after the restart with Jake Jackson forcing Alex Street into a good save while at the other end Crabtree saved well from Lynn’s man-of-the-match Kieran Shipp.
Frome continued to press and in the 78th minute Jackson scored from close range, his 20th of the season.
Lynn had a chance to make sure of he points but Sam Warburton’s shot hit the base of the upright and went to safety.
