Lynn returned to the top of the league with a fine first half performance seeing them to a two goal lead at the break.
Lynn were on the front foot from the start and penned the home side in their own half for long periods with Cameron Norman outstanding and Ryan Hawkins a threat down the opposite flank.
Lynn looked dangerous early on with a free kick and corner coming to nothing while at the other end Jack Self had Banbury's first effort but it went high.
Craig Parker should have given Lynn the lead on 15 minutes but his header was weak from Norman's run and cross and shortly after Hawkins shot over.
Lynn took the lead on 25 minutes from the penalty spot. The ever dangerous Norman was fouled by Matt Peake-Pijnen and Michael Clunan stepped up to score his fourth goal from the spot this season.
Alex Street did well to block a Conor McDonagh effort but on 34 minutes Lynn doubled their lead after a net passing move resulted in Clunan feeding the ball to Norman whose shot took a deflection on its way into the goal.

Two could have been three shortly before half time but Ryan Fryatt's header went over.
Banbury introduced Tom Winters on 41 minutes and his skills on the left gave the home side more of the play in what turned out to be a scrappy second half in which Lynn never reached the heights of the first.
Tom Ward crashed a shot against the bar soon after the restart but the Pilgrims were far more of a threat and they were grateful for Sam Gaughran's presence on the goal line to clear a effort as the home side began to pressure.
The game came to life on 65 minutes when Banbury pulled a goal back, Darren Pond getting a touch on McDonagh's cross.
There were a couple of chances at either end with Parker seeing his shot go straight at home 'keeper Jack Harding and at the other end a late Ryan Jarvis intervention prevented an equaliser.
