Chesham's on-loan striker Joe Iaciofano made it eight goals from nine appearances as he condemned Lynn to defeat.
Manager Ian Culverhouse spring one surprise in the starting line-up with Ryan Hawkins, who had been ever-present in league matches this season, dropping down to the bench and Simon Lappin making his first league start.
The opening 25 minutes of this game were only notable in so far that nothing of any note happened. The visitors did have an effort on goal on 27 minutes when Jhai Dhillon's ball into the box found Jon-Jo Bates whose shot hit the underside of the bar and Iaciofano's follow-up went well wide.
Michael Gash responded for Lynn but his header from Lappin's cross was weak. On the half-hour a Michael Clunan corner found Sam Gaughran but his header was off target. Five minutes before the break Alex Street did well with a double save to thwart the efforts of David Hutton.
At the other end a Ryan Fryatt header was tipped over the bar and the resulting Clunan corner fell to Leon Mettam whose effort was cleared from the line by Benji Crilley. Mettam then had a shot that hit the side netting as the half ended goalless.
The second half continued in much the same vein with chances at either end. Frazer Blake-Tracy did well to block in a 2-on-1 break and at the other end Gash headed wide. Penalty appeals were equal with Mettam for Lynn and Lewis Toomey for the Generals both being grounded.
Lynn applied pressure and won a succession of corners but could not find the finishing touch. Then on 81 minutes Gash was dispossessed by Hutton and Iciofano showed why he is on the books of Northampton Town with a well taken goal to send Lynn to their first home defeat of the season.
