Lynn thoroughly deserved their opening day victory, dominating possession and playing a passing game which gave Gosport few chances.
The visitors have two players left from the team that was relegated last season and at times the young team looked overwhelmed.
Lynn, with five players making their Southern League debuts for the club, got off to the best possible start.
Ryan Hawkins was grounded in the opening minute and when he was fouled again in the area in the next minute by Chin Vine the Linnets were awarded a penalty and Michael Clunan made no mistake from the spot despite 'keeper Sam Grey guessing the right way.
Lynn continued to create chances Hawkins shot straight at Grey and then the impressive Cameron Norman set up a rejuvenated Leon Mettam who forced Grey into a point blank save.
Lynn then had the ball in the net twice through Michael Gash but both were ruled out, the first for offside and the second because his hand was adjudged to have put the ball into the net, for which Gash was booked.
A Clunan free kick was then headed just wide by Gash but on 39 minutes Lynn deservedly doubled their lead when Norman's solo run ended with a cross which gave Craig Parker an easy tap home.
The second half failed to live up to the first although Lynn were still well in control and on the odd occasion Gosport did threaten Alex Street was little troubled - a save to deny Aaron Dawson being one of the few of note.
The crowd of 827 was the highest opening day attendance since the club reformed (by two).

On Friday evening King's Lynn Town Reserves defeated Norwich CBS 2-0 but the priceof victory was the loss of Ryan Harnwell with a fractured leg. With Keiren Shipp sidelined for around three months with knee ligament damage this is not that start manager Robbie Back wanted.
Substitute Jack Frohawk earned a penalty for Lynn which Eion McQuade converted and added a second through Ryan Lennon by which time the home side had seen Charlton Halliday sent off for a lunge on Nathan Daw.
