Linnets go top

Lynn moved to the top of the league and ended Stratford Town's unbeaten start to the season with a deserved victory that could easily have been by a greater margin.
The Linnets line-up showed just the one change from the 4-1 victory over Coleshill with Michael Gash coming in for Tom Siddons who took a place on the bench.
Lynn attacked from the start forcing visiting 'keeper Louis Connor into action in their first attack on 30 seconds forcing him to parry away Ryan Hawkins drive, the rebound being pounced on by Michael Clunan but he fired wide from the edge of the box.
Two further chances fell to Lynn with Craig Parker heading over a good cross from Cameron Norman and then Ryan Fryatt headed Clunan's free kick wide.
On 13 minutes Stratford had their first chance of the game Michael Taylor firing just wide from the edge of the box.
Lynn took a deserved lead on 25 minutes when Michael Gash headed home Clunan's free kick. Lynn continued to create the better chances and doubled their lead from the penalty spot on 36 minutes. Clunan as reliable as ever with the kick following Thomas's foul on Norman.
In first half time added on, Leon Mettam, unmarked, scored Lynn's third, with a low strike from Norman's cross. The second half was slightly more even with Street making a smart save to deny Edwin Ahenkorah shortly after Taylor had headed high and wide from close range. On 68 minutes Jaz Luckie was adjudged to have been fouled in the box by Fryatt and substitute Ben Stephens scored from the spot. Any ideas of Stratford comeback were ended ten minutes later when a run from Gash down the left saw him charge into the box, brushing off the attentions of Guy Clark, and pulling the back for Mettam to fire home.
There was still time for Sam Gaughran to take the field to make his 100th appearance for the club.
