Lee Beevers joins Lynn
Tuesday 3rd July
Lynn have announced the signing Lee Beevers who will undertake the role of player/assistant manager.
The 34 year old Doncaster born defender/midfielder joined Ipswich Town as a full-time scholar in July 2000 and although being offered a contract in March 2001 it was not to be renewed at the end of the 2002-03 season and he saw out the season on loan to Boston United.
The loan resulted in a contract which saw him make 82 appearances scoring five goals for the Pilgrims and selection for the Welsh Under 21 team. He moved on to Lincoln City in February 2005 making 175 appearances for the Imps in all competitions between 2005 and 2009.
He moved to Colchester United in June 2009 but his spell there was hit with injuries and he was released at the end of the 2010-11 season.
The following season saw him at Walsall but after making 40 appearances he failed to agree a new contract and moved to Mansfield Town where he made 110 appearances between 2012 and May 2015.
A return to Lincoln City followed but a ruptured patella tendon in October 2016 ruled him out for the remainder of the season by which time his appearance total for the Imps had reached 229 starts plus 16 appearances on the bench. The start of the 2017 season saw Lincoln take on Walsall in a benefit match for Beevers.
After a period of retirement he then signed for Gainsborough Trinity on 5 January 2018 but left two weeks later to take on a player/coaching role at Alfreton Town making 14 appearances but he was not retained by new manager Billy Heath at the end of the season.
