Simon Clark appointed manager
Wednesday 23rd May
Lynn have appointed a former player as their new manager.
Simon Clark had two spells at The Walks with a gap of 14 years between them, making his debut in the 1990-91 season
and appearing 37 times.
He began his playing career as a junior with Lincoln City and then joined Boston Town.
He went on to play for Holbeach United, King’s Lynn, Hendon and Stevenage Borough.
He began his professional career with Peterborough United in 1993 and made 107 appearances for the Posh.
He subsequently turned out on 98 occasions for Leyton Orient and 64 for Colchester United.

A spell in Singapore with Woodlands Wellington FC as player-coach and then player manager was followed by a return to Lynn
in January 2005 and ending in August of that year having made 21 appearances, scoring once. After leaving he had a brief spell as player-manager at the then Ryman League Premier Division club Leyton where he was dismissed after a few weeks in charge and then as player-coach at Malden.

Clark had a number of roles in a coaching capacity beginning at schoolboy and youth level at Lincoln City and Peterborough United, and later becoming a first team coach at the Imps.
In September 2009 he stepped up to take caretaker charge at Sincil Bank for five games and left the club when Chris Sutton was appointed.
After roles in coaching and as a personal trainer he returned to management in May 2010 at Stamford and took a step up to manage Worksop Town a year later but although he guided Tigers to an impressive FA Trophy run, and won the Sheffield Senior Cup the aim of a play-off place was not achieved and with a reduced budget looming Clark
and assistant Dave Frecklington resigned in April 2013.

His next role was as Youth Development Phase Coach Under 16 with Notts County taking on a similar role with Under 15s at Charlton in 2014 progressing via Under 18s and Under 21s to first team coach.
He returned to Notts County as Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Under 18 in May 2017.
Returning to The Walks as Clark's assistant is Sam Gaughran who saw last season out with Royston Town having left Lynn in January.

In other news, Ryan Fryatt has agreed a two year contract with the club while the departure of Leon Mettam and Tom Siddons has been announced on social media, and Simon Lappin took to BBC Radio Norfolk to announce his departure.
