Lynn’s third visit to Coles Lane ended, like those of the previous two, in defeat
Joe Robinson was the only change to the Lynn starting line-up that defeated Coalville with Rory McAuley dropping to the bench.
Taking a place on the bench was Harry Limb who returned from a loan spell at Pinchbeck where he had scored four goals from ten appearances (nine starts).
The home side shaded the first half in terms of possession and Lynn were fortunate to go into the break with a 1-0 lead.
The first chance of the me came on nine minutes Sam Whittall for the Pics heading a Joe Hull flick-on just over the bar and then on 24 minutes Danny Waldren nipped in between Alex Street and Ryan Fryatt but his lob over Street hit the top of the bar.
Shouts for a home penalty on 34 minutes for a foul on Joe Hull were waved away by the referee Jamie O’Connor and five minutes later Lynn took the lead with their only shot of the first half that was on target. Adam Marriott played the ball to Chris Henderson who drew Matthew Sargeant in the home goal to finish with a neat angled shot.
There were a couple of chances at either end after the restart, Aaron Jones seeing a free kick going inches over the bar and , two minutes later, Street tipped a curling distance shot from Ash Sammons over.
Lynn introduced substitutes Ryan Hawkins and Craig Parker on 70 minutes and they had hardly settled when the home side got a deserved equaliser when a Tyler Lyttle pull-back was thumped home by Hull.
With nine minutes remaining Lyttle turned from provider to scorer when his free kick from the edge of the box gave Street no chance.
The Pics nearly extended their lead on 79 minutes when Orrin Pendley’s shot was blocked.
With to minutes remaining Lynn looked to have been handed a lifeline when home substitute and former Linnet Messiah McDonald was adjudge to have handled the ball but Michael Clunan saw hit shot saved by Sargeant diving to his left.
Worse was to follow when Jones received a straight red for a late tackle on Ben Lund.
