Lynn strengthened their position in the play-off positions with this win over fourth placed Stratford and, with Stourbridge losing, put pressure on the Glassboys for the coveted second spot and home advantage in the league play-offs.
With Joe Robinson injured, new signing Ross Barrows made his debut - the only change to the starting eleven that defeated Alvechurch on Tuesday - and it was he that made Lynn’s opening goal on three minutes.
His long ball from the right found Michael Gash who flicked the ball into the path of Adam Marriott who slotted through the legs of Laurence Bilboe for his 19th goal of the season.
Stratford rallied and forced a couple of corners with Chris Cross getting the home side’s first shot on goal on nine minutes but Alex Street saved comfortably.
The remainder of the half saw chances at both ends. Chris Henderson sliced wide on twenty minutes while the Gash/Marriott combination nearly produced a carbon copy of the first goal just before the half hour.
At the other end a Wilson Carvalho cut-back found Will Grocott but he sided footed wide from seven yards and three minutes later
Street produced a good one-handed save to deny Nabil Shariff. Lynn produced the last chance of an entertaining first half when Barrows run into the box saw his shot saved by the legs of Bilboe and go wide.
The home side had the first real chance after the restart when, on 56 minutes, Carvalho tried his luck from distance only to see his shot go narrowly wide of the post and into the side netting.
Lynn responded with a long range shot from Frazer Blake-Tracy that failed to trouble the keeper and then on 68 minutes Michael Clunnan capitalised on a Carvalho mistake but his effort from 25 yards whistled over the bar.
Jordan Richards had a long range effort on target but Bilboe saved and soon after Stratford had their best chance of the half when substitute Dan Creaney got on the end of a Cox cross only to see his effort blocked by Street. Shariff was on hand with the follow-up but Ryan Fryatt blocked on the line.
Lynn had a Richards’ drive tipped over by Bilboe but Lynn made sure of the points with three minutes remaining when Stratford failed to clear from a corner, the ball falling to Gash to strike the ball home from the edge of the area.
