Lynn got a very useful point at Leamington after a two week lay-off with York’s surprise defeat at home to Hereford putting Lynn just two points behind the leaders with four games in hand.
Tom Ward returned after injury and Dayle Southwell was given his first start while the Brakes had Lewis Gwilliams in goal for only his second appearance for the Brakes, his first coming in 2017.
Gwilliams wasn’t really tested in the first half with Lynn not managing to get a shot on target although the Brakes did only marginally better with just the one long range effort from Morley forcing a save from Alex Street although the home side did manage one effort from Mark Edwards whose header hit the post.
Ward had Lynn’s best chance, side footing wide having been set up by Southwell whilst Ross Barrows fired narrowly wide just before the break.
Street dropped an early second half home corner but was quick to fall on the ball to deny James Mace. Adam Marriott was denied by blocks from Jack Lane and Joe Clarke. Michael Gash had a couple of efforts, the first lacking the power to trouble Gwiliiams and the second going just over while the Brakes nearly snatched all three points
when Josh Martin tried to force the ball in only to see it blocked on the line and the clearance eventually found Kaiman Anderson whose shot was saved by Street.
