For the second successive match Lynn faced a full team that had reached the play-offs last season and, once again, they were on the end of a heavy defeat.
Manager Ian Culverhouse made four changes from the team that lost 5-0 to Solihull Borough with Michael Clunan, Sam Kelly and Jama Loza promoted from the bench and Simon Power returning from injury whilst Adam Marriott, Cameron King and Ross Barrows dropped to the bench where Kyle Barker was added. There was no place for Ryan Jarvis and Alex Street.
An early chance fell to Zaine Francis-Angol who fired wide while an early Clunan free kick flew across the Wood goal but there was no one there to apply the vital touch. This was followed by a second kick but this time it flew over the bar.
On ten minutes Lynn had what turned out to be their best chance of the game when Dayle Southwell struck from distance but his shot was straight at Nathan Ashmore who gathered at the second attempt.
Archie Mair made the first of a number of fine saves soon after to deny Matt Rhead's header and the theme was set for the rest of the match.
The physical presence of Rhead and the trickery of Kabongo Tshimanga was causing Lynn problems and kept Mair busy as did a 21 minute strike from Corey Whitely.
The inevitable goal came on 27 minutes when Kane Smith, in acres of space on the right hand side, drove forward and delivered an inch perfect cross for Rhead to stroke home.
The second goal arrived from the penalty spot on 32 minutes when Mair brought down Tshimanga got up to score Wood's second.
Mair made two further saves and Tshimanga had a goal ruled offside before Loza picked up his second yellow card of the evening.
Perhaps had the referee realised it was Loza's second yellow he might have let him off with a final warning but it was his assistant that had to point this out before the red card was shown.
The second half was damage limitation for Lynn and game management for Boreham with the home side seldom getting out of their own half.
Mair made further saves but could do little about the third goal just after the hour when Tshimanga's shot deflected off the boot of Aaron Jones and over the head of Mair.
