Royston Town 1 King's Lynn Town 5
Saturday 5th September
Lynn completed their fourth pre-season friendly with a 5-1 win over Southern League Premier Division Royston Town.
It was, however, the home side that created the better first half chances with early efforts from Edwards and Adams hitting the bar in the opening ten minutes.
The hosts continued to press with Brandon Adams and Josh Castiglione linking well before testing Alex Street. Royston had the ball in the net on 24 minutes but the effort was ruled offside.
Spyros Mentis then warmed Street's hands but on 34 minutes Lynn took the lead with Dayle Southwell heading home from a cross for his first goal for the club.
Three minutes later he scored his second from Jamar Loza's low cross.
A Royston free kick was the first effort of the second half which went straight to Street but on 48 minutes Lynn extended their lead Jamar Loza scoring from close range from Alex Brown's cross.
Three could have been four on 56 minutes but Sam Kelly blazed over from cross range.
Many substitutions followed and on 70 minutes Royston scored when Adams lashed home Josh Williams' pass.
Lynn responded with Jordan Richards firing over and then goal number four came on 77 minutes Sonny Carey getting on the end of Kelly's low cross.
The scoring was completed on 84 minutes when Rory McAuley headed home a Ryan Hawkins' corner.

King's Lynn Town 0 Norwich City U23s 1
Tuesday 1st September
Lynn's third pre-season outing produced a useful workout.
A goalless first half saw Lynn start the brighter but as the game progressed so the visitors began to settle.
On ten minutes a Jordan Richards' shot following a corner went straight to Jon McCracken in the visitor's goal.
Alex Street was tested at the other end following William Hondermarck break-through before laying it off to unmarked Tyrese Omotoye to shoot.
Just before the half hour Reece McAlear tried his luck from 20 yards but, with Street beaten, his effort hit the upright.
The next minutes saw Matt Dennis test Street but the Lynn 'keeper was equal to the shot.
Street was becoming the busiest of the custodians his next action seeing off an effort from Omotoye before watching an overhead kick from Andrew Omobamidele go over.
The final chances of the half fell to Lynn with Dayle Southwell, Rory McCauley and Richards putting efforts wide and then Richards hitting the post in the final minute.
Lynn made a number of changes just after the hour mark and on 70 minutes the only goal of the game fell to the Canaries when Hondermarck found Dennis in space put the ball past Lynn's stand-in 'keeper, Dion-Curtis Henry.
The remaining chances fell to Lynn with Ross Barrows, Cameron King and Chris Henderson having efforts wide.
There was worrying news after the game with news that Adam Marriott and Michael Gash have injuries that could see them struggle to make the start of the season.

Rushden & Diamonds 0 King's Lynn Town 1
Tuesday 25th August
Lynn went to Hayden Road, Rushden and came away with a 1-0 win in a match spoilt by the strong wind.
First half: Street, Barrows, McAuley, Smith, Brown, Richards, Clunan, Kelly, Johnson, Hawkins, Gash.
Lynn saw plenty of the ball but their efforts were off target - a Michael Gash effort being the closest.
The home side were closer to the target with a Tom Lorraine shot partly saved by Alex Street but it needed Ryan Hawkins to clear the loose ball off the line.
On the stroke of half time Jack Ashton's looping header from a free kick hit the bar.
Second half: Street, Jones, Brown (Raspberry), McAuley (Fleming), Smith, Jarvis, Carey, Loza, Southwell, Hawkins, Henderson.
The introduction of Jemar Loza's pace caused problems for the home defence but it was at the other end he almost scored with a back pass going just wide of the post.
On 79 minutes he did scoop Alex Brown's through ball just wide and then on 84 minutes he had a effort which hit the post with Ryan Hawkins on hand to smash home from close range.
Diamonds had a couple of chances to level in the dying minutes with Ban Farrell shooting just over bar and Will Jones forcing a good save from Street.
