News from The Walks
Saturday 30 December
Wealdstone 0 King's Lynn 0
Abandoned at half time - rain.
Lynn had the better of the chances on difficult conditions with Toms forcing a save from the home keeper on two minutes and Cooper missing a good chance soon after when he fired straight at the keeper.
Nolan hit the bar with a header just before half time.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Cooper (Crane 32), Camm, O'Halloran, McMahon, Nolan, Notman, Toms. Unused Subs: J Defty, C Defty, Melton,  Higgs

Lynn Reserves 3 Felixstowe & Walton United 4
Lynn Reserves came from behind three times but had nothing to show at the end of 90 rain soaked minutes. They deserved at least a point for their domination but it was the weather that decided the winner on 77 minutes. A shot was going wide of the far post but came to a stop in the puddle in the Tennyson Road end goal and Felixstowe  substitute Danny Spencer was the first to react.
It was another Danny - Danny Phillips who had given the visitors the lead after some ten minutes but Lynn soon began to threaten. Mark Heath Preston was denied by 'stowe keeper Paul Cudworth when his shot hit hit the keepers legs and went up onto the bar and out. Two minutes later and Cudworth pulled off another save but this time Martin Rudd was on hand to put in the rebound. Danny Phillips added his second on the half hour but Lynn replied five minutes into the second half - Martin Rudd scoring from close in following a corner. Phillips again restored the lead and Rudd once more scored from close in following a corner. Then as Lynn looked to take the lead for the first time they were condemned to a defeat they didn't deserve.
Lynn: D Hyde, Gilchrist (Coe), Cussons (Kelleler), Buhlemann, Miller, Peters, Spriggs, Harvey, Rudd (Forshaw), Heath-Preston, Fell.
Thursday 28 December
Robert Norris has left Kings Lynn to rejoin St. Albans City.
He contacted City after being left out on Saturday, and Lynn have agreed to waive the 'seven day notice' so he is free to rejoin them for Saturday.
Tuesday 26 December
Stamford 1 King's Lynn 0
Lynn dominated the opening of this game - but unfortunately it was only the opening five minutes.
Toms was given his first league start since August and Jack Defty was put on the bench with Alex Notman as Keith Webb opted for a Nolan/Frew strike force.
Lynn should have taken the lead in the opening period - particularly when Frew was on the end of Cave Brown's pass but he miskicked with just the keeper in front of him and the ball going behind him.
Eventually the home side emerged from their own half and Shaun Marshall did well to punch Musgrove's in-swinging free kick clear and then deny Robbie Harris's follow up.

Mark Camm put in a stinging shot on 21 minutes which Martin Keaney did well to save and two minutes later Mark Warren put in a looping back header which went just wide.
Nolan then went close with a shot on the turn as Lynn were having the advantage territorial but it was the same old story with the home side getting behind the ball and blocking most of Lynn's attempts.
At the other end Marshall did well to save one-handed to deny Matthews as half time approached but the resultant corner was not cleared and Piercewright scored for The Daniels.
Lynn introduced Jack Defty to little effect:  his best effort going wide and then the home keeper denied a Cave-Brown shot whilst Marshall did well once more to beat away Musgrove's shot just after the hour.
Lynn did try to step up their game but could not find a way through and to round of a miserable afternoon Warren picked up his fifth booking of the season in injury time to earn a suspension for the Team Bath game.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Cooper, Camm, Cave-Brown (Crane 84), Fisk, Nolan, Frew (J Defty 59), Toms (Notman 69). Not used: Higgs, C Defty

King's Lynn Reserves 0 Wisbech Town 2
Lynn did not deserve to lose by two goals in this Boxing Day derby. Wisbech had three shots in the game and scored twice - both goals coming in the first half from Liam Nimmo.
It might have been much different had the ball been kinder to Lynn on the seventh minute.
Wisbech keeper Nick Conroy came out of his goal to deny Mark Heath-Preston but his clearance went to Seamus Kelleher whose 20 yard lob hit the far upright and although a goalmouth scramble followed the ball was cleared.
Wisbech scored against the run of play - Darren Jimson putting Liam Nimmo through with Lynn appealing for offside.
On 38 minutes a Matty Peters cross-cum-shot went narrowly wide of the far post but far too often Lynn were putting in high crosses were which being dealt with easily by the visiting defence.
In first half injury time the Jimson - Nimmo partnership once again swung into action for Wisbech to score their second.
The second produced much the same sort of fare with Lynn producing little in the visiting goalmouth.
The consolation they deserved nearly arrived in the final minutes when first Liam Forshaw was denied by the visiting keeper from close range and then Steve Spriggs had an effort headed off the line.
Lynn: D Hyde, Gilchrist, Cussons, Harvey, Miller, Buhlemann, Kelleher, Peters, Rudd, Heath-Preston, Fell.
Saturday 23 December
King's Lynn 0 Maidenhead United 1
Despite a new man at the helm and changes on the field Lynn managed to produce a performance not dissimilar to that against Gloucester City as once again they took too long on the ball and in attack tried to walk the ball into the net whilst the opposition closed down and blocked with determination.
Lynn had the first real chance when debutant Andrew Cave-Brown crossed from the Lynn right but Jack Defty's header went wide.
On 14 minutes the visitors took the lead - West failed to close down McNamara and his swirling shot deceived Marshall who could only flap an arm at it as it went in by the near post.
Marshall made amends a few moments later to deny Telemaque with a stunning save.
At the other end Jack Defty produced miss number two when he took too long in shooting having been set up by Cave-Brown and his shot was deflected away to safety by a grounded Smith.
Louis Blois was booked for a foul and Marshall produced another save from the resultant free kick.
Jack Defty produced miss number three when he headed down a Notman cross from three yards and Preddie smothered it on the line.
Lynn began to show a degree more urgency (unlike the Gloucester game) as the second half progressed but although they spent more time in the visitors' half Preddie dealt easily with  with what few shots came his way whist Maidenhead looked dangerous on the break.
Lynn's inability to make the most of free kicks since Adam Smith's departure was evident when Cooper in the first half and Nolan in the second both failed to convert them into a a serious chance.
Andrew Fisk became the second "new boy" to be booked following a foul on Nesbitt
Fisk had a shot turned away by  Preddie following a Norris cross and then Norris saw his drive blocked by Cooper which just about summed up Lynn's day.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Blois, Warren, Cooper, Camm, Cave-Brown (Nolan), Fisk, J Defty (C Defty), Frew, Notman (Norris). Unused Subs:  Crane, Higgs

Lynn Reserves gained three welcome points at Leiston. Mark Heath-Preston gave Lynn the lead on 25 minutes but the home side equalised immediately. Luke Fell put Lynn back in front just before half time. Leiston missed a number of second half chances including a penalty.

In the errea Cup Lynn have been drawn at home to Corby Town.
Friday 22 December
Louis Blois has re-signed for Lynn this morning from Mildenhall Town and will be in the squad for Saturday's game.
Louis made his debut for Lynn as a substitute at the start of the 2002-03 season when we lost 0-3 at Dartford. He went on to make 19 appearances before being released the following August he joined Diss Town. A spell in Canada followed. On return he was linked with Lynn but registration delays eventually saw him regain match fitness with Wroxham Reserves in January 2005 before signing for Dereham Town followed by a second spell at Diss. He made a further appearance for Lynn 2006 pre-season against Dagenham & Redbridge but subsequently joined Mildenhall.
Thursday 21 December

Tuesday 19 December
King's Lynn Football Club are pleased to announce that Keith Webb is their new First Team Manager. Keith's name is a familiar one to Norfolk football followers as he has spent over twenty years at Norwich City F.C. as a highly thought of member of their back room team.
Keith has been involved in the coaching of household names such as Craig Bellamy, Ruel Fox and Darren Eady and has more recently been involved assisting Nigel Worthington and latterly Peter Grant in First Team matters.
Keith will take charge of the 'Linnets' for the first time this Saturday when Maidenhead United visit 'The Walks'. Keith has signed a two and a half year Contract and will be employed full time by the Club.
The Board of Directors wish to place on record their thanks to Neil Doncaster and all at Norwich City Football Club for the professional and courteous manner in which they have handled this matter. Keith's appointment is a signal of the Board's intention to gain promotion to the Nationwide set up.
We are confident that with Keith's guidance and Coaching skills that our aim will be realised sooner rather than later.

A former Norwich City trainee, Keith played as centre-half in the Canaries' South East Counties league winning side of 1980. Despite not being offered a professional contact with the Club he joined the administration staff at Carrow Road whilst gaining his coaching qualifications. Beginning with  the Canaries Sunday Youth Team, Keith was promoted to full-time Youth Team Coach in 1986 and then Assistant Academy Director upon the formation of the Academy set ups within football. Following Nigel Worthington's appointment as Manager in January 2001 Keith was promoted to his current role of Reserve Team Manager winning the League Cup in 2001 and runners-up slot in last season's football combination.

Saturday 16 December
Mangotsfield United 2 King's Lynn 1
With Mangotsfield top of the league and on a run of form this was the result many expected. Suspensions and ineligibilities for the Mangoes, however, meant that Lynn went into this game with more of a chance - this is until some of the players failed to arrive before the kick-off and caretaker manager Shaun Carey was forced into late changes with John Higgs coming in for Shaun Marshall and Mark Camm drafted into defence instead of Grant Cooper with Robbie Norris given a start in midfield.
Lynn took the lead on 35 minutes when Matt Nolan took advantage of a poor back pass to nip in and score but four minutes later the scores were level when Warren scored for the home side following a free kick which Lynn failed to clear.
Seven minutes into the second half Lynn were awarded a penalty after a foul on Nolan but Alex Notman's spot kick was saved.
On the hour a cross by French was turned in by Clarridge and Lynn's hopes of a run in another cup competition ended.

Lynn Reserves went down 1-2 at Woodbridge.
Jo Francis opened the scoring for the home side after 12 minutes but that was after Lynn had had a goal disallowed for offside.
Darren Hyde, making his debut, pulled off a string of saves before Luke Fell equalised for Lynn on 54 minutes.
Woodbridge regained the lead on the hour and although Lynn pressed for an equaliser it was not to be.

Lynn A defeated West Winch for the second time in eight days - this time winning 5-3.
Friday 15 December
Lynn have signed 19 year old midfielder Seamus Kelleher. Born in Norwich (10/12/87) he was with West Brom's Youth Academy and more recently on Ridgeon's League forms with Fakenham.
Also joining is Darren Hyde, brother of Lee, a 22 year old 6' 1" keeper who arrives from Wisbech.
Monday 12 December
King's Lynn 0 Gloucester City 1
You might have been forgiven for thinking it was Lynn that had not won in six league outings rather than the visitors as the Tigers started with confidence and Shaun Marshall produced a one handed save in the opening minute to deny Sykes. It was Marshall who made a number of important stops throughout the first half whilst his counterpart, Matt Bath, had an untroubled opening. Matt O'Halloran put in a number of crosses from the Lynn right throughout the game but each time it was the visitors who got to the ball first. Gloucester closed down, hustled,  bustled and spoilt giving Lynn no time and as a result they failed to string passes together - particularly in the final third and went through the game with hardly a shot on target. Lynn did seem to wake up after a let off when Marshall was fouled in a goalmouth scramble but they could not find a way through the visitor's packed defence.
There might have been a hope that Gloucester would tire as the game progressed and Lynn spent more time in the visitor's half after the break. Yet again, however, it was Shaun Marshall who saved Lynn as he beat out a stinging free kick on the hour which was then cleared.  Finally  Gloucester got the break with three minutes remaining through Aaron Wilson to cap a frustrating evening for Lynn fans and team.

Monday 11 December
The demise of Lynn Royals from the NW Norfolk League has put Lynn A back on top - although Ingoldisthorpe are one point behind with two games in hand.
Saturday 9 December
Clevedon Town 3 King's Lynn 1
Lynn's disappointing record at the Hand Stadium continued with their fourth straight defeat is as many visits.
The home side, with whose eight match unbeaten run ended at Chippenham during the week, were a goal behind on nine minutes. Home keeper Greaves was dismissed for bringing down Frew when through on goal and Alex Notman made no mistake from the spot for the second successive match.
Lynn, who were without the injured Jack Defty, failed to get a shot on the stand-in keeper and they too were reduced to ten men when Steve Melton was dismissed for dissent.
Shaun Marshall denied Page with a one-handed save whilst Frew and Nolan put shots wide at the other end.
Three minutes into the second half and the home team were level. Hapgood scoring from the penalty spot following a foul by Grant Cooper. Encouraged by this and with the wind behind them Hapgood then saw an effort land on the bar. Lynn had Shaun Marshall and Charlie Defty to thank for keeping them in the game whilst a combination of blocking and off target shooting meant that Jacobs was not being tested in the home goal.
On 71 minutes the home side took the lead when Jack Pitcher picked up the loose ball from a throw in and his low shot deceived Marshall. Lynn's hopes of preserving their unbeaten run ended in the last minute when an error from Charlie Defty allowed Jack Pitcher through  on goal to make sure of the points.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Charlie Defty, Warren, Cooper, Camm, Nolan, McMahon, Frew, Notman, Melton. Subs: Norris, Harvey, O'Halloran, Higgs. Attendance: 207.

At The Walks Lynn Reserves gained a credible 2-2 draw against Kirkley. Ben Goddard put the visitors in front on 3 minutes but on 15 minutes Lynn drew level. Duncan McAnally threw the ball to Luke Fell who ran nearly the full length of the field before crossing to Dom Dwyer to score. Both teams had chances to add to the tally - Kirkley being denied by some fine saves from McAnally whilst Lynn were getting their crosses in but there was no one to finish the moves. Lynn's cause was not helped by injury to Dwyer who was replaced by Jack Redhead. Kirkley, who have lost just two games in the league this season, took the lead on the half hour through Ricci Butler, a recent signing from Diss. The second half saw more of the same Kirkley being denied by McAnally and Lynn not getting the breaks in the final third but playing attractive football. Lynn then had McNally carried off and Dean Miller took over in goal but his services was not called on as Kirkley appeared to settle for the 2-1 win - Lynn, however, had other ideas and equalised in the final minute when Stephen Spriggs finished off a fine move.
Lynn: McNally (Keegan), Gilchrist (White), Cussons, Buhlemann, Crane, Miller, Spriggs, Gaughren, Rudd, Dwyer (Redhead), Fell. Att: 108

Lynn A continued to keep the pressure on the NW Norfolk League leaders with a 3-2 win over West Winch.
Tuesday 5 December
Windsor & Eaton 1 King's Lynn 2
A penalty from Alex Notman on 71 minutes and a goal from Grant Cooper three minutes later saw Lynn come back from a goal down to progress into the next round of the FA Trophy and a trip to Mangotsfield.

Saturday 2 December
With the first team having played Friday and the Reserves match against Clacton being postponed (now scheduled for 24 February) there was just the A team in action today.
They overcame Terrington 3-0 to keep second spot in the table in what is becoming a two horse race.
Friday 1 December
King's Lynn FC 0 Oldham Athletic 2
As many a neutral fan expected, Lynn's FA Cup run was ended at The Walks by League One highfliers Oldham Athletic. The full timers, more skillful and fitter than Lynn, deserved their victory - although the two soft goals Lynn conceded were something of a disappointment. The first, Chris Porter's twelfth goal of the season, came on ten minutes when Liddell's cross evaded Shaun Marshall and Porter headed home. The second did not arrive until 8 minutes from the end. The Lynn defence seemed to have switched off to allow substitute Hall to glance home a header from Liddell's corner.
Whilst these basic facts put Oldham through to the next round there was much for the 5,444 mostly Lynn fans to cheer. In fact, prior to the opening goal, Lynn had won two corners and certainly did not look over-awed by the occasion, but they were often giving away possession and their passes were going astray. When playing against higher opposition it is difficult to judge whether Lynn didn't play to the full potential or whether it was just the opposition that prevented it. Oldham should have gone further ahead a few minutes later when Gary McDonald shot wide and on 28 minutes Richie Wellens did similar from Paul Warne's lofted pass. Lynn began to grow in composure and confidence as the first half progressed and the final ten minutes produced some of their best chances with Latics' keeper Les Pogliacomi denying a Jack Defty kick and then Matt O'Halloran heading just over. Lynn started the second half much as they had finished the first but the finishing touch was lacking whilst Oldham appeared to be playing well within themselves initially intent on going forward in breakaways but, as the second half progressed, they began to dominate once more. Twice Shaun Marshall performed heroics to deny a 25 yarder from McDonald and then a reflex save from Paul Warne followed by a save to deny Eardley. Alex Notman, more noticeable in the second half going forward, tried a left footer into the crowded Oldham goal but even when they did manage a cross or shot near goal Pogliacomi was on hand to deny Lynn. Any hopes of forcing a replay ended on 82 minutes but Lynn's never-say-die attitude continued to the end but, try as they might, the deserved consolation never arrived. Pogliacomi just managed to deny Alex Notman who tried to drill the ball through his legs and then he tipped Cooper's header around his post.
There were, however, many plus points for Lynn - in particular their attitude throughout the game, Jack Defty's ability to "mix it" with the best and the form of Charlie Defty slotting in for the departed Adam Smith. It was always a big ask to expect Lynn to win this match, but the players did not let anyone down and equally the crowd supported them throughout the ninety minutes for Lynn to end their cup run to a standing ovation.
The attendance of 5,444 passed that of the estimated 4,900 who saw Ipswich visit The Walks for the Keith Rudd/Mick Wright testimonial in May 1980 and the 4,987 for FA Cup visit of Oxford United in November 1962.
Lynn: Marshall, West, C Defty, Warren, Cooper, Camm (Hicks 75), J Defty, McMahon, Frew, Notman, O'Halloran (Nolan 68). Subs (not used): Grane, Norris, Higgs.
Tuesday 28 November
Lynn Reserves ended their interest in Cup competitions this season when they went down 2-1 to Division One highfliers Ely City. Sam Gaughran gave Lynn the lead on 5 minutes but a goal in each half from Tom Beech ended Lynn's hopes.
Saturday 25 November
Following overnight rain Lynn's scheduled match with Windsor & Eton was postponed - another attempt will be made to stage the game on Tuesday.
The A team were the only team in action and, in the battle between two unbeaten teams, they went down 2-6 at home to reigning Champions, Ingoldisthorpe at a swampy 'River Lane' on Saturday.
With the heavy conditions suiting the bigger, heavier and verbally intimidating visitors, Lynn were soon three goals to the bad. Stemming the 'tide' by half time, they recovered to bring the score back to 2-3 with goals from Vincent and Walker in the space of a minute.
Vincent then had a perfectly good goal disallowed, before Ingoldisthorpe powered in three late goals to clinch the points.
Team: Rix, Cox, Nicholls, Tuddenham, George, Setchell, Ing, Rudd, Webber, Vincent, Walker.  Subs: Moore, Drawbridge, Supp  all used.
Friday 24 November
It was a dark and stormy night - and for Lynn it just got stormier as they went out of the Norfolk Senior Cup - going down 3-1 to Wroxham at Trafford Park.
Lynn took the lead on nine minutes through Matty Gilchrist in their first attack but this was already against the run of play as Duncan McAnally had pulled off one fine save and another chance had gone narrowly wide.
The setback didn't stop The Yachtsmen who had one effort hit the underside of the bar before equalising in the 16th minute when Andy Key lobbed McAnally.
Five minutes later and the home side were in front when Josh Carus headed home a corner.
Chances then became fewer and play became more even as the half progressed as Lynn seemed to gain confidence.
Wroxham killed off the tie on the hour when Key scored his second of the game - heading home Gary Gilmore's cross.
Lynn tried to get back into the game but the home side ran out worthy winners.
Lynn: McAnally, Gilchrist, Cussons, Buhlemann, Miller, Harvey, Coe, Gaughran, Bond, West, Fell. Subs: Vincent, Rudd, Peters. Att 171
Thursday 23 November
Lynn have completed the signing of 20 year old Rodney Hicks on a month's loan from Peterborough United. The central/left sided midfielder goes into Saturday's squad and is available for the FA Cup match with Oldham. Hicks, who turned 20 at the beginning of the month, has also had spells with Bolton Wanders and Brentford and a trial with Stevenage.
On signing for Peterborough at the start of November Posh manager Keith Alexander commented: “Rodney is a young lad who has been on trial with us and he has signed really with a view to next season. . .  He is a young lad who has tremendous potential and I am looking forward to working with him. He is certainly keen to impress and we will see how it goes.”
Tuesday 21 November

The Club fully respect Michael's decision.

Stamford 1 King's Lynn 2
Lynn continued their interest in all competitions with a 2-1 win at Stamford in the errea Cup despite fielding a team with no first team regulars. Ex-Linnet Robbie Harris, one of four former Lynn players in the side) gave the Daniels a first half lead but two quick second half goals from Sam Gaughran (54) and Rob Norris (59) (Lynn's 50th goal in competitive football this season) saw Lynn through. Mark Warren has advised club chairman Ken Bobbins that he is fully committed to the club for this season. Club captain Warren is enjoying life at the Walks and has said it would take an outstandingly large offer from a league club to tempt him away.
The club's board have confirmed that they have been in protracted contract talks with striker Michael Frew over the past three weeks. It is expected that these talks will be concluded on Monday when a further statement may be issued.
The deal to take Adam Smith to Peterborough United is expected to be completed on Monday. On the deal being concluded the details of the transfer will be made public.

Saturday 18 November
King's Lynn 2 Cirencester Town 0
A fair half time score might have been 6-3 as league football returned to The Walks for the first time since 7th October.
It was Lynn who started the brightest with Michael Frew and Sam McMahon off target before Lynn were awarded a penalty on 8 minutes. Adam Smith, who seemed to be enjoying a more roving role than usual, tried to control the ball in the visiting area but it bobbled up and found contact with Cirencester's Steve Cowe's hand.  Frew's kick was however, like Mark Warren's the previous week, not strong enough and the keeper saved diving to his right.
The Centurians then had their best spell of the game with Scott Griffin having a shot palmed away by Lynn keeper Shaun Marshall and then, when beaten shortly afterwards, Dean West was on hand to clear off the line.
Cirencester's Lee Smith was the next to test Marshall with a long range effort but once again the home custodian was up to the challenge.
Whereas a lot of the visitor's efforts were on target the same could not be said of Lynn who had frequent shots but which invariably were wide or high of the target with Frew being the main culprit.
It was inevitable that sooner or later Frew would find the net and when he did, in the 34th minute, it was a gem. Jack Defty picked up a loose ball and Frew took just one touch before hooking into the net. Frew and Matt O'Halloran both had chances to increase the lead before half time.
Ten minutes into the second half Lynn doubled their lead when the impressive  Steve Melton smashed the ball home after Jack Defty's initial header had only been parried visiting keeper  Kevin Sawyer.
The bulk of the remaining chances fell to Lynn but once again the opportunities were missed with O'Halloran twice missing the target.
Adam Smith, making his final Lynn appearance before joining Peterborough United, couldn't cap his farewell performance with one of his "free kick" specials but, when substituted in the final minute, received a deserved standing ovation from the 1,471 crowd.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Smith, Warren, Cooper, Camm, J Defty, McMahon, Frew, Melton, O'Halloran. Subs: Notman, Crane, Norris, Nolan, Higgs.

Lynn Reserves produced an excellent 1-0 victory away to high fliers Soham Town Rangers who had ex-Linnets Dean Greygoose and Simon Flanz in their line-up., Stephen Harvey scored Lynn's goal in what was Soham's second home defeat of the season and excellent preparation for their Norfolk Senior Cup trip to Wroxham next Friday.
Out of action Lynn A lost top spot in their league to Ingoldisthorpe - a team they play next Saturday.
Tuesday 14 November
Banbury United 3 King's Lynn 3
A last minute goal from Steve Melton got Lynn their first point at the Spencer Stadium for three visits. Lynn played catch-up through the evening their other Lynn goals coming from Michael Frew and Adam Smith.
Lynn received a wake-up call after just three minutes when Jon Gardiner scored but Lynn gradually clawed their way back into the match - although they had to wait until  Michael Frew's 54th-minute snap-shot before they were level.
Their lead, however, was short lived as Warren was adjudged to have fouled  Stuart Bridges and Gardiner scored his second from the spot - sending Marshall the wrong way.
On 62 minutes Lynn fell further behind when  Howard Forinton headed home at the far post.
Adam Smith did a reprise of his Bishop's Stortford free kick routine to  put Lynn back into the match after substitute Jack Defty had been fouled..
Lynn: Marshall, West, Smith, Warren, Cooper, Camm, Nolan, McMahon (Norris 81), Frew, Notman (J Defty 63), Melton. Subs (not used): C Defty, Gaughran, Higgs. Bookings: Warren, Melton.
Sunday 12 November
FA Cup 2nd Round Draw
Lynn will play Oldham Athletic in a match to be played during the weekend on 2-3 December.
Oldham defeated Kettering Town 4-3 on Saturday. On target for Oldham was former Wroxham player Paul Warne whose name, over the years, has cropped up as a possible Lynn signing.
Another name with associated with King's Lynn FC is a certain Tommy Wright - now assistant manager at Boundary Park.

This will be the first time a League Club has visited The Walks in the FA Cup since Shrewsbury Town on November 14th 1964. On that occasion the visitors won 1-0 in front of 4,183.
Prior to that Aldershot FC became the first Football League club to be defeated at The Walks in the FA Cup when they visited on November 14th 1959.
Lynn's scorers in the 3-1 win being Dixon 2 and Luke in front of 6,533.

Saturday 11 November
Bishop Stortford 3 King's Lynn 5
It took 2-3 minutes for Lynn to find their way into the opposing half at the start of this FA Cup encounter but once they had, they began to create chances with Matt O'Halloran making some inroads on the right.  The home side were, however, very quick in closing players down and blocking and Lynn were finding it difficult to get shots on target.  On 19 minutes Jack Defty was held in the area and Lynn were awarded a penalty but home keeper Wright guessed the right way to deny Mark Warren's spot kick.
Notman put a shot out of the ground as play moved from end to end and on  26 minutes Stambrook conceded another free kick from which Adam Smith fired a fierce shot through the wall and past the static Wright.
The home side began to dominate and the inevitable equaliser came on 36 minutes after a foul by Warren - Stortford's Essandoh forcing the ball home.
Four minutes later it was the home side who took the lead after a break down the Lynn right which was finished by Morgan whose shot went in off the far upright.
Almost against the run of play, Lynn equalised on the stroke of half time. Adam Smith, from slightly further out than on the previous occasion, put in another free kick which Wright got his hands to but the ball still found the back of the net.
Stortford had the better of the opening minutes and Lynn had a scare when Marshall required lengthy treatment for what appeared to be a twisted ankle.
At the other end home keeper Wright's afternoon took a turn for the worse when he was at fault for Lynn's third goal. On 56 minutes Jack Defty played a through ball to Frew who outpaced the defence and shot - the effort finding a way under Wright's body.
Neither keeper had been made to work particularly hard but Marshall did well to first claim a corner in a crowded area and then tip an effort over the bar. By this second save, however, Lynn had increased their lead. On  62 minutes Alex Notman played in Frew who showed great composure to easily beat Wright from 12 yards.
Stortford had a goal disallowed for offside as they tried to come back into the game but Lynn responded by increasing their lead on 71 minutes when a cross from Frew found the head of Matt O'Halloran.
Martin pulled a goal back for the home side on 83 minutes and although the home side pressured they could not deny a historic victory for Lynn.
It is the eighth time Lynn have reached the second round of the competition since the war
recent appearances being the trip to Rotherham in 1997 and prior to that a trip to Alvechurch in 1973. Of the seven previous appearances  in the Second Round only two have been at home so perhaps, by the law of averages, it could be Lynn's turn.

Lynn substitute Vincent got a consolation for Lynn with ten minutes remaining.

Tommy Taylor Departs Lynn
It is with deep regret that the board of KLFC have to announce the departure of Tommy Taylor with immediate effect. It has always been an agreement between ourselves and Tommy that if a league club came along with a suitable position we would not stand in his way if he wished to leave. We also wish to make it clear that Tommy leaves us on good terms and no animosity exists between either parties. We wish to place on record our most sincere thanks to Tommy on his tremendous efforts whilst in charge of KLFC. On his arrival we were a side in serious relegation form at the wrong end of the table. He leaves us now little more than two years on top of the southern league and with a place in the first round of the FA cup. We would like to make it clear that the board will not rush into any decision to appoint a new manager. Next Saturday the club has a huge FA Cup match at Bishops Stortford. We are pleased to announce that the team will be selected by Shaun Carey who will be assisted by Dean West. We expect a tough match but with Shaun's and Dean's leadership skills and the teams continued outstanding form we are confident of a positive result.

Leyton 1 King's Lynn 2
Lynn were without Adam Smith and Alex Notman whilst leading scorer Jack Defty was started on the bench.
Lynn took the lead on 4 minutes when Matt Nolan found Michael Frew who slotted home.
On 40 minutes Lynn deservedly went two up when Melton, taking a fine pass from Frew, scored his first goal for the club.
Most problem from the home side came from Fazakerley who had hit the post early in the second half before cutting the deficit on 77 minutes when a deep cross from left wing by Manny Williams took the Lynn defence by surprise and Fazakerley scored from close range.
Lynn, however, soon recovered from the setback and took the game to the home side and ended the game comfortably.
Lynn: Marshall, West, C Defty, Warren, Cooper, Camm, Frew (Norris 66), McMahon, Nolan (J Defty 45), Melton, O'Hallaron. Unused Sub:  Higgs Att: 154

Lynn Reserves 2 Wroxham 2
Lynn Reserves took the lead twice in this tussle with the league's second placed club.
Lynn deserved their 1-0 half time lead in an opening spell which saw few chances although Lynn had the better of the approach work.
The goal came from the head of Stephen Harvey following a corner on 40 minutes.
Wroxham were far more determined after the break and were on level terms within five minutes of the restart.
Lynn retook the lead in fortunate circumstances - the visiting keeper's kick hitting the back of one of his own defenders and rebounding to Luke Fell who will seldom have easier chances.
Wroxham came back to equalise and had one effort hit the underside of the bar and bounce onto the line before being cleared.

Friday 3 November
In the League Cup Lynn will visit Stamford w/c 20 November.
Thursday 2 November
Hemel Hempstead 3  Kings Lynn 1 aet
A fast and exciting Eastern Junior Cup tie in which for long periods the young 'Linnets' dominated their older and stronger opponents. The Cup favourites took an early lead on 5 mins.
when Austin side footed home a cross from the right after some sloppy defensive play.
Lynn equalised on 17 mins. with a superb individual goal from Alex Vincent which was well worth going the long way to see. Receiving from Rawlings, he controlled the ball with skill, sent one defender one way, turned back to send another astray and then unleashed an unstoppable shot from 20 yards which beat the keeper all ends up.
From then on Lynn dominated proceedings but unfortunately their finishing then let them down plus some not too helpful decisions by the officials as when West, clean through, was blatantly pulled back by the shirt which went unpunished. West also hit a post when it seemed easier to score.
Extra time saw Lynn give another poor goal away in the 91st. minute through lack of concentration. As pushed forward for another equaliser they were vulnerable to the counter attack and in the last minute speedy left winger Brumwell added a third goal to put a harsh reflection on the scoreline. Lynn now enter the Plate Competition.
Team: Rix, Glendinning, Nicholls, Gaughran, Tuddenham, Spittlehouse (Supp), Setchell (Moore), Rawlings, Vincent (Browning), West, Walker.

Saturday 28 October
King's Lynn 3  Hucknall Town 0
This was an excellent all-round performance from The Linnets who were never overawed by the club from the higher division in a fast and exciting game. Matt O'Halloran was involved in many of the early moves, his pace causing problems for Hucknall's veteran left back Legg. It was he that won a corner which produced Lynn's first chance - Alex Notman, playing probably his best game in Lynn colours, trying his luck from fully 20 yards which brought an outstanding save from Smith.
Lynn took the lead on 16 minutes with Cooper winning the ball just in the Hucknall half. He surged forward and his pass found Jack Defty who read the defender's intensions and neatly teed the ball up for Cooper to shoot home.
Danny Miller was the visitor's most dangerous player but apart from a spell ten minutes before the break little was seen of the Hucknall frontline.
Lynn had the last chance of the first half with Frew attempting a 25 yard shot which Smith in the Hucknall goal touch away for a corner.
Notman sent in a long range effort early in the second half which hit the visitors bar as Lynn refused to rest on their single goal lead. Hucknall tried to step up the pressure and the pace but the Lynn defence held firm.
Hucknall were reduced to 10 men when midfielder Dempsey was shown a second yellow card after ending an Adam Smith run down the left.
The introduction of substitute Matt Nolan for Matt O'Halloran helped ease the pressure on Lynn as the fresh pair of legs gave the visitors more problems and on 86 minutes he eased Lynn's nerves when, picking up a pass from Notman, he lobbed keeper Smith.
The scoring was completed in time added on when Nolan produced a copy of first goal
 with Smith again well beaten.
So Lynn progressed  to the draw for the first round proper of the FA Cup for the 17th time and for the first time in nine years where, they learnt that they will travel to the winner of the Bishop Stortford/ Dover Athletic tie.

Elsewhere Lynn Reserves got a useful point in the 2-2 draw at Halstead ahead of their "six-pointer" at Norwich United on Tuesday.
Halstead were two up in 15 minutes but the Reserves turned the game around and were unlucky not to gain all three points.
Richie Meadows headed home Glen Driver's corner kick on three minutes and on 15 Driver rounded keeper Duncan McAnally to score his first goal for the home side.
Lynn fought back and Liam Forshaw cut the margin with a goal out of the blue on 20 minutes and from then on they dominated.
Alex Vincent took over from the injured Ashley Keegan and he proved to be a thorn in Halstead's side for the rest of the game.
On the hour Forshaw levelled the scores with his second of the afternoon when he ran through unchallenged.

Saturday 21 October
Worthing 0 King's Lynn 1
A goal from Rob Norris put Lynn through to the next round of the Trophy when scoring from a tight angle.
Lynn might have added more in the first half before and after their 9th minute strike. A Dean West header was cleared off the line on 10 minutes whilst Nolan and Jack Defty were denied by the home keeper. Shaun Marshall saw his first piece of serious action just before half time to deny Tom Lawley.
Lynn were never got out of first gear in the first half then the second saw them running in neutral as the home side gained in confidence.
The bulk of the second half chances fell to Worthing but their best effort - a shot from Knee was palmed away by Marshall.
Lynn: Marshall, West (Melton), Smith, Warren, C Defty (Cooper), Camm, J Defty (Frew 45), McMahon, Notman, Nolan, Norris. Subs: Cooper, Melton, Fry, Higgs, Frew.

King's Lynn Reserves 1 Diss Town 2
A 63rd minute goal from Daniel Partridge lifted Diss above Lynn in the table.
Lynn had started well and took the lead on 9 minutes when Jason Coe went on a mazy run, did a quick one-two with Chris West, and then shot to put Lynn ahead.
On 25 minutes Diss drew level - Daniel Partridge's shot from the Lynn left hit the upright and the ball went out to Ricci Butler to thump home.
Lynn continued to make chances but had few efforts on target - the most noteworthy being good work from Stephen Harvey whose cross-goal shot went narrowly wide of the far post.
A long ball (a feature from both sides) from the Diss defence was chased by Partridge and Coe but it was Partridge who got the first touch to lob McAnnally.

Lynn get Hucknall in FA Cup
Lynn have been drawn at home to Conference North side Hucknall Town in the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

Hucknall defeated David Staff's Nuneaton 1-0 on Saturday.

Lynn to sign Steve Melton
Lynn will sign midfielder Steve Melton on Tuesday evening on release from Alfreton Town.
Ex-Linnets manager Gary Mills, now in the Alfreton hotseat, was described as "disappointed" at having to release Melton - along with forward Jermaine Palmer - but the club had to try to balance the books following the Reds disastrous FA Cup exit at the hands of Solihull Borough and disappointing attendances.
Melton played 12 games in a Reds' shirt, scoring once.
Born in Lincoln (3/10/1978) he started his career as a trainee with Nottingham Forest in 1996 before moving onto Stoke City in 2000.
Subsequent moves took him to Brighton and then Hull. He joined Boston United from Hull City in March 2004.
During his League career he had made 99 first team appearances scoring five goals prior to joining Boston.
He made nine appearances at the end of the 2003-04 season for The Pilgrims and a further further nine (including four as sub) the following season.
Last season saw a loan spell at Tamworth where he made ten appearances, scoring once.
Melton will not be available for the FA Cup clash with Hucknall as he is cup tied.

Lynn Youth 4 Bourne Town Youth 2 (aet)
Lynn should have secured a place in the next round of the Ridgeons' Youth Cup in normal time but allowed Bourne to twice break away to score and take the game to extra time. Lynn scorers: Vincent (32), West (79), Drawbridge (93), Browning  (117).
Saturday 14 October
Halesowen Town 1 King's Lynn 2
Lynn made it to the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the first time since the 2001-02 season thanks to two Matt O'Halloran goals in a close and entertaining tie.
Lynn started brightly with Frew forcing a corner after four minutes but the home side slowly came into the game.
By half time Halesowen were well ahead on corners whilst Lynn possibly had the better scoring chances - notably when Frew found himself one-on-=one with the keeper but saw his effort saved and an Alex Notman shot which forced home keeper Woodhall into an excellent save.
Halesowen continued to apply pressure and win corners and for a while it seemed that the home side must score.
Their best effort, however, came when Szewcyk hit the upright but the ball rebounded to the hands of the grounded Higgs. Lynn introduced Nolan for Notman and he gave Lynn had their best effort of the game when Pierrpoint cleared off the line.
The names of McMahon and O'Halloran were added to the referee's notebook along with Jack Defty.
Lynn broke the deadlock on 82 minutes when West's throw found Matt Nolan, whose neat back heel tee'd up O'Halloran with a low cross shot.
Four minutes later Lynn doubled their lead when a rebound from a Frew shot fell nicely for the number 11 to finish off.
With two minutes of normal time remaining a McMahon was adjudged to have handled and Lewis sent Higgs the wrong way.
The home side were reduced to ten men when Lewis was given a straight red card for a foul on O'Halloran, who had to be replaced by Norris.
Lynn might have added a third in the final minutes but Nolan shot over.
Lynn: Higgs, West, Smith, Warren, C Defty, Camm, J Defty, McMahon, Frew, Notman (Nolan), O'Halloran (Norris). Unused Subs: Gaughran, Fry, Harvey
Attendance: 632

Monday 9 October
Kings Lynn Youth 1 Dereham Town Youth 0
This was another pulsating Cup tie between two very evenly matched sides with the visitors more direct approach countered by the footballing abilities of the home side.
As at Dereham last Thursday, play was end to end, with Lynn creating the best of the early first half chances and Dereham coming more into the game as the interval approached.
Both keepers had been called upon to make good saves to keep the half time scoresheet blank.
It was a similar pattern in the second half with Lynn opening brightly, going close on several occasions before Dereham again got back into the game. With extra time looming and only five seconds remaining of normal time remaining Lynn scored the all important goal. Alex Vincent was fouled on the Lynn left, the ball was played into the box where Gaughran's perseverance enabled him to force home what proved to be the winner.
Five minutes of added time was played but Lynn held out for a deserved victory.
Team: Rix, Glendinning, Nicholls, Spittlehouse, Gaughran, Rawlings, Moore, Setchell, Vincent, West, Walker. Subs: Browning (Setchell), Drawbridge, Supp, Griffin.
Attendance: 83
Lynn will be at home to Lowestoft Town  in the 3rd Qualifying Round to be played week commencing October 23rd.
Saturday 7 October
King's Lynn 3 Mangotsfield United 0
Lynn fully deserved their victory over Mangotsfield - ending their visitors' unbeaten run.
For long periods, however, it looked as if this would be a goal less draw with three efforts being cleared off the line before Michael Frew broke in the 66th minute with a superb solo effort - jinking past three tackles before putting his shot just inside the post.
This goal came after Mangotsfield had pressed early in the second half but the introduction of substitute Matt Nolan and the switching of Matt O'Halloran to the opposite wing sparked new life into the Linnets.
The first half had seen few shots on target with Lynn just edging it in the final quarter which saw a Smith shot cleared off the line by Price and then a reflex save from Green denying McMahon.
Having survived early visiting pressure in the second half Frew had a header cleared off the line with Green appealing for a foul.
A splendid piece of teamwork set-up Matt O'Halloran for the second goal on 73 minutes and Jack Defty scored his 50th league  goal for the club when he took advantage of a misunderstanding between visiting skipper Warren and Green to nip in and score eight minutes from time.

There were mixed results elsewhere - the Reserves losing 5-0 at Mildenhall and the A team winning 11-1 against Snettisham to go top of the league.
Friday 6 October
Shaun Carey Benefit
The club are pleased to report that in excess of £4,000 was raised for Shaun on Wednesday evening.
Thursday 5 October
Dereham Town 1 Kings Lynn 3
Lynn Youth gained a psychological advantage for their forthcoming FA Youth Cup match by defeating Dereham Town in the Eastern Junior Cup at wet and windy Aldis Park..
Setchell put the Youths ahead with a header at the far post from Spittlehouse's free kick. Heavy Dereham pressure produced an equaliser and the home side should have been ahead by the interval.
Against the elements in the second half Lynn again withstood heavy pressure to win the game with late goals from the spedy Vincent, one a penalty after Nicholls had been brought down and the clincher a minute from time as he raced clear of the defence to finish with a superb lob over the keeper.
Team: Rix, Glendinning, Hooks, Setchell, Tuddenham, Spittlehouse, Nicholls, Rawlings, Vincent, West, Watson. Subs: Drawbridge (Vincent), Supp (Watson), Moore (Hooks).
Lynn travel to Hemel Hempstead in the next round.
Wednesday 4 October
Rob Norris Returns
Rob, who impressed with Lynn in pre-season and signed Southern League forms, was  signed by Nationwide Conference club St. Albans City five days before the start of the 2006-07 season. Having been unable to secure a first team place with the Saints (he made one start in his eight appearances), he asked to be released following the Saints goalless draw at Clarence Park with Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday. The 18 year old (he will be 19 on 12th October) is a talented right-sided winger  who can also play on the left.
A former Boston United Youth and Reserve team player Rob became the youngest player ever to feature in a Pilgrims first team Football League fixture when he came on as a substitute during a 2-2 home draw with Bristol Rovers on 30 October 2004.

Made three league appearances (two as sub) for Boston and also appeared in one FA Cup tie having previously had a spell with Lincoln City.

Leaving Lynn is Luke Kennedy who has signed for Stamford.
Tuesday 3 October
Hemel Hempstead Town 1 King's Lynn 5
Hemel went into this game unbeaten at home in the league but two goals from Jack Defty, plus strikes from Alex Notman, Adam Smith and Matt O'Halloran saw Lynn go three points clear at the top of the table with second placed Mangotsfield visiting The Walks on Saturday.

Lynn 'A' are currently second in the table.
Monday 2 October
FA Cup draw - Halesowen Away
One of the attractions of the FA Cup is drawing teams from other leagues - but then again there is the saying "better the devil you know . . "
Halesowen have been something of a jinx for Lynn - in the first meeting on 17th Sept 1983  it was a heavy FA Cup 6-0 defeat when Lynn were top of the Southern League - rather like we are now!.
More recently Lynn have failed to score against The Yeltz in their past five meetings and started the current season with a 2-0 defeat - although on that occasion Lynn were without Mark Warren and Grant Cooper.
A difficult tie, but not a banana skin as in previous rounds and something that could produce a positive result.
Halesowen defeated Chasetown 3-1 at home on Saturday and in the previous round saw off the challenge of AFC Telford United away by four goals to two. In the league, however, Halesowen, like Bath City, are still looking for a home win.
Saturday 30 September
Lynn 3 Causeway United 1
Shaun Marshall, who picked up a knock on Thursday, felt a reaction during the warm up and John Higgs came in as a late replacement.
Causeway should have taken the lead on 40 seconds after a one-two between Warren and Smith saw the ball stolen from Warren but Bladen missed when presented with an open goal.
Jack Defty headed Lynn into the lead on three minutes following an O'Halloran cross from the Lynn right.
On eight minutes Gavin Mole had an effort tipped away by Higgs as the visitors looked good forward going and, despite being a tall side, looked vulnerable at the back.
Lynn had the next three chances with Defty being denied by the keeper on 11 minutes and then Frew shooting wide three minutes later.
On 17 minutes Defty hit the cross bar as Lynn's rather nervous defence began to settle.
In the final five minutes of the first half McMahon set up O'Halloran who forced Fellows to save at full stretch.
From the resulting corner Adam Smith found Jack Defty unmarked to head in his second.
Lynn introduced Nolan for Frew at half time and Lynn began to dominate but shots from both sides were either wide or straight at the keeper.
Alex Notman almost scored with his first touch on the hour his header and McMahon's follow-up produced a goalmouth scramble which was cleared off the line.
Causeway keeper Fellows denied Nolan on 69 minutes and then Fell. Causeway had not been the attacking force they had in the first half but 77 minutes Notman fouled and the resulting free kick was only parried by Higgs and Gavin Mole put the visitors back into the game.
Lynn's two goal margin was restored three minutes later when Fell set up Matt Nolan for his first competitive goal of the season.
Luke Fell had a further effort denied by the keeper in the closing minutes as Lynn made sure of a place in the third qualifying round.
Lynn: Higgs, West, Smith, Warren, Cooper, Camm, J Defty (Fell 75), McMahon, Fry (Notman 59), Frew (Nolan 45), O'Halloran. Subs:  Kennedy, C Defty. Att 843

Lynn Reserves were not in action whilst Lynn A defeated Millfleet by four goals to one.

Thursday 28 September
Lynn sign Adam Fry
Lynn have signed Adam Fry from Peterborough United on a month's loan.
He will be available for Lynn's FA Cup and Trophy ties if selected.
The 21 year old midfielder is the son of Posh's Director of Football Barry.
Adam, who took part in the pre-season game against Lynn, has made four appearances for Posh although none in the past season.
He began the 2006-07 season on loan to Kettering Town but did not feature in a starting line-up.

Lynn have also been linked with former Lowestoft defender Greg Crane currently with Cambridge United. Crane is currently suspended for offences committed last season to be followed with a three game suspension  following his sending off in the CRC v Wisbech game. Once this is cleared the signing should be completed.
Wednesday 27 September
Kings Lynn Youth 3, Whitton United Youth 0
This was an excellent exhibition by our youngsters in this FA Youth Cup tie, who eventually gained a deserved success in a thrilling game that was a credit to both sides.
Lynn scored three goals in a devastating ten minute spell in the second half through Gaughran 2 (1 a penalty) and a superb shot from Fell. They now meet Dereham Town, at 'The Walks' in week commencing October 9th.

Saturday 23 September
Bath City 1 Lynn 1
Lynn extended their unbeaten league run at Twerton Park to six games (back to August 1998) thanks to a 68th minute equaliser from substitute Michael Frew..
Alex Notman kept his starting place in the team with Michael Frew making way for Matt Nolan whilst fit again Mark Camm came in at the expense of Charlie Defty.
Bath took the lead on 22 minutes, having forced a number of corners McKeever's kick found the head of Jon Holloway.
Lynn poured forward in the second half and got a deserved equaliser when Michael Frew beat two Bath defenders and shot across goal for the equaliser.n

Lynn: Marshall, West, Smith, Warren, Cooper, Camm, J Defty, McMahon, Nolan, Notman, O'Halloran. Subs: Frew, Kennedy, C Defty, Harvey.

Lynn Reserves 2 Newmarket Town 1
This wasn't so much an end-to-end affair as a game played in patches and, in the first half in particular, Newmarket had the better of the goalmouth chances but somehow managed to go in at half time 1-0 down.
Twice the ball crossed the Lynn six yard box but on both occasion as there was no player there to either convert the chance or clear it.
Newmarket then attempted to walk the ball into the net but when that failed the resultant shot was straight at John Higgs.
Finally they found their shooting boots but John Higgs denied them with a diving save to his right.
Lynn's first half chances were fewer but they took the lead on 43 minutes. A Luke Fell shot was blocked by Liam Forshaw but he managed to retrieve the ball to score.
After a brief spell of Newmarket pressure at the beginning of the second half it was Lynn who had the bulk of the chances.
Martin Rudd had a header hit the bar on 62 minutes and then an effort well saved shortly afterwards whilst at the other end Luke Fell header off the Lynn line with Higgs beaten.
On 75 minutes a long ball into the Newmarket area found Forshaw who was adjudged to have been fouled and Forshaw scored from the resultant penalty.
Newmarket substitute Tony Beck scored a late consolation for Newmarket in injury time.
Lynn: Higgs, Buhlemann, Cussons, Gilchrist, Miller (Keegan 59), Gaughran, Spriggs (Webber 64), Redhead, Forshaw, Rudd (Bond 89), Fell. Att: 146

Lynn will entertain Bourne in the next round.
Saturday 16 September
Tring Athletic 1 King's Lynn 5 Lynn lined up with Alex Notman being preferred to Matt Nolan in attack whilst Mark Camm failed a late fitness test with Charlie Defty drafted in to replace him..
Playing down the slope in the first half, Lynn dominated from the start but it was Lynn keeper Marshall who was called into action to deny first Gray and then Humphreys.
Lynn deservedly took the lead on 16 minutes although Frew looked suspiciously offside when he scored from eight yards.
Lynn's second came from a period of Tring pressure, Marshall made an important save and block and the resulting clearance found Jack Defty in space who took his time before lobbing the keeper.
A 28th minute free kick saw Alex Notman tap in from close range after Jack Defy's header was not cleared.
Lynn went four up with five minutes of the first half remaining with Matt O'Halloran shooting home from 20 yards after being set up by Jack Defty.
Any faint hopes that Tring may have had of getting back into the game in the second half now that they had the slope in their favour were ended when Nolan, on for Jack Defty at half time, crossed for O'Halloran to score.
Lynn had further opportunities to score but their efforts were either wide or straight at the home keeper.
Sam Gaughran was introduced for his senior debut  as Lynn continued to look for further goals but rarely tested the home keeper.
For Tring, substitute Aldridge over from close range and then two minutes from the end Ben Williams was on hand to apply the final touch from a right wing move.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Smith, Warren (Gaughran 66), Cooper, C Defty (Kennedy 61), J Defty (Nolan h/t), McMahon, Notman, Frew, O'Halloran. Unused Subs:  Harvey, Fell, Att: 301.

At The Walks a young Lynn Reserves team went down to two first half goals against Halstead.

There was better news from the A team who defeated Watlington 10-0
Thursday 14 September

Grantham Youth 1 Lynn Youth 2

Lynn took the lead after just fourteen minutes when the speedy Alex Vincent collected a through ball from Sam Gaughran and raced into the box to place a low shot into the bottom corner.
However, Grantham retaliated straight from the restart as Lynn failed to concentrate, Craggs firing in from 10 yards to give Rix no chance.
Vincent again ran hard at the defence, but the Grantham keeper saved at the edge of his area.
As the game swung from end to end, the 'Gingerbreads' forced a corner and Barrett was only just wide with a header. The home centre forward then set up a chance for Craggs who wated the opportunity by shooting well wide. After a quickly taken free kick, Rawlings had a shot for Lynn but it was straight at keeper, Lamb. Right on half time Lynn scored what was to prove the winning goal.
Sam Gaughran brought the ball along the right touchline and swung a long, swerving ball into the goalmouth from fully 40 yards. With Vincent making diagonal run across the goal and distracting the keeper, the ball eluded everyone and nestled firmly in the far corner. The second half was less entertaining as both sides made many unforced errors, but there were some good moments. Spittlehouse had to clear off the line as Grantham made an early attack. Vincent had a chance to make the game safe but his lob hit the inside of a post and ran along the goal line only to be cleared. From a free kick taken by Watson, Alex Moore had a fierce drive parried away for a fruitless corner. Lynn brought on the two subs. as Grantham pressed for the equaliser, Rix twice coming to the rescue with excellent saves. He again saved in style when Grantham sub.Day volleyed hard from 20 yards, producing a flying save. For the last ten minutes Lynn were down to ten men as More pulled a hamstring and had to leave the field with both subs. used. The ten men held on to record their first League win of the campaign.
Team: Rix, Glendinning, Hooks, Spittlehouse, Gaughran, Nicholls, Watson (Drawbridge), Rawlings, Vincent, Browning (Walker), Moore.

Lynn 0 Merthyr Tydfil 0

Lynn had the chances but basically ran out of ideas in this top of the table clash.
Alex Notman made his first start of the season and Lynn made a bright start with Matt O'Halloran and Jack Defty both causing problems in the Martyrs' defence.
Matt O'Halloran had a shot saved in the opening five minutes and the resulting corner cleared off the line.
On ten minutes Jack Defty found Matt Nolan in the Martyrs' area but he placed his shot rather than blasting it and it was cleared away.
Mark Camm just failed to connect to a Defty cross on 22 minutes as Lynn continued to have the better of the chances.
O'Halloran and Defty both went close on 26 and 39 minutes respectively but Merthyr had their best spell just before half time although apart from Shaun Marshall spilling one shot - there was little to worry about for the Lynn defence.
Jack Defty had his best chance of the game a minute before half time when set up by Nolan but he opted for a first time effort which went straight to Martyr's keeper Ashley Morris. The opening minutes of the second half belonged to Lynn with an Adam Smith free kick cleared off the line being followed by a succession of corners - but that was it.
Shaun Marshall produced a good save from Craig Steins on 54 minutes but the goal mouth action in the second half was much less.
Whereas Lynn were threatening around the six yard box in the first half they were having to create chances at best just inside the penalty area in the second.
Matt Nolan had an effort saved on 80 minutes but Lynn lacked the ideas and had to settle for a draw.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Smith. Warren, Cooper, Camm, J Defty (Frew 56), McMahon, Nolan, Notman (C Defty 69), O'Halloran (Fell 61).

Lowestoft Town 2 Lynn Reserves 0
For their visit to reigning E.C.L. Champions, Lowestoft Town, who were seeking their first victory in this year's competition, the Reserves were facing a more than difficult task as they had been decimated by late First team call ups, injuries and some late unavailabilities. Last minute signing Troy Bond, a 'conscript' from the 'A'  Team, Martin Rudd  and Manager Matt Henman made up the 'bench'.
Lowestoft, well served in the first half by former 'Linnet' Richard Woodrow were much the better sideand took the lead after 22 minutes when Woodrow  broke through a square defence and neatly slotted home/. Earlier Jamie Stokeld had rattled the Lynn 'bar with a pile driver.
After a half time roasting by Keith Rudd, the young 'Linnets' came out for the second half in a much more determined frame of mind. With the influential Woodrow having to leave the field due to injury, Lynn came much more into the game. They had much more possession, but often a poor final ball and lack of of a real cutting edge up front let them down. The 'Blues' were still dangerous and McAnally made several good saves. As Lynn's effort faded it seemed likely that the home side would add a second goal, this duly materialised in the 85th. minute when substitute , Lewis knocked the ball in after McAnally had blocked Russell Stock's first effort.

Finally the A team won 3-1 at Great Massingham

Shaun Carey is now back home having had one bone pinned whilst the other should hopefully knit itself back together. He will be on crutches for around three months.
Video footage of the leg breaking tackle has been obtained and shown to the club's solicitors. the video was, however, shot from the other side of the ground and needs enhancing.
Friday 8 September
Leaving Lynn are Paul Atkins (now with Haverhill Rovers) and Lewis Brooks (Grantham). We wish them every luck with their new clubs.
Tuesday 5 September
Lynn 2 Corby Town 1
Lynn won this local derby in a fast, competitive game but the price was high as Shaun Carey was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg following a late tackle from behind by Robbie Maddox who escaped with just a yellow card.
It was that 43rd minute foul which resulted in Lynn's opening goal.
The resultant free kick eventually falling to Michael Frew for his first goal for the club.
It was a lead that Lynn just about deserved although, despite their first half pressure, Corby had come the nearest to scoring when a header that went just wide of the upright.
Lynn extended their lead four minutes into the second half from the penalty spot.
Nolan was adjudged to have been fouled and although Cooper saw his shot saved the kick was ordered to be re-taken and Mark Warren made no mistake.
Ex-Linnet Jamie Clarke pulled a goal back for The Steelmen on 68 minutes after Marshall had spilled a shot from Byrne and Lynn, who ended the game without the influential Adam Smith and Jack Defty, were forced to hang on.
Lynn: Marshall, West, Smith (C Defty), Warren, Cooper, Camm, J Defty (Atkins), Carey (Frew), Nolan, McMahon, O'Halloran.

Saturday 2 September
Cirencester 1 King's Lynn 6
Lynn took the lead on
eleven minutes when an Adam Smith free kick was deflected into his own net by a defender.
The floodgates opened in the second half with goals by Jack Defty and a Matt O'Halloran header(!) before the home side pulled a goal back through sloppy defending.
Further goals came from an own goal, Luke Kennedy and  Mark Camm's first league goal for two days less than two years!

Lynn Reserves 1 CRC 2
CRC got their first win of the season in a disappointing game at The Walks.
Lynn lost the services of Lee Hyde within 15 seconds of the start, Hyde being stretchered off with a knee injury.
It was the visitors who had the better of the opening exchanges and they deservedly took the lead on 15 minutes, Sam Cutler converting a cross from Collins.
Lynn had just the one shot on target in the first - fortunately that finding the back of the net. On 43 minutes a long ball from the left found Alex Notman in space and he drew the keeping before slotting home.
The second half was much like the first with chances at a premium. The best of Lynn's chances fell to Luke Fell and Stephen Spriggs whilst Ed Cussons put a free kick over after Notman had been pulled back on the edge of the area. CRC took the lead on 78 minutes when a long throw into the area found the head of Sam Gaughran who put the ball over McAnally and into the net. On two occasions McAnally had did well to thwart the visitors by smothering the ball at their feet whilst the closing minutes saw a desperate scramble in the Lynn goal which somehow was cleared and then minutes later the ball was headed off the Lynn after McAnally had been lobbed.
Lynn: Higgs (McAnally h/t), Gilchrist (West 82), Buhlemann, Cussons, Miller, Gaugran, Notman, Keegan, Forshaw, Hyde (Spriggs 1), Fell.
Lynn A kicked off their league campaign  with a 2-2 draw at Wiggenhall. Scorers Ashley St.John ( penalty)  and Michael Browning.  Tom Rix saved a penalty. Team: Rix, Cox, Hooks, Spittlehouse, Rudd, Schmuda, St.John, Rawlings, Vincent, George, Nicholls, Subs (all used) : Ing, Glendinning, Browning
