Spalding 0 Lynn 4

LINNETS boss Gary Setchell hailed his side's display as Lynn swept aside the challenge of local rivals Spalding with two goals in each half. The Walks outfit laid down a title marker with a brilliant display against the Tulips, who had title aspirations of their own at the start of the season. A delighted Setchell said: "We're absolutely flying at the minute and that's two good sides we've destroyed in the space of a few days.
"Some of the football we're playing at the minute is a delight to watch.
"Tuesday was a controlled performance. We demoralised Spalding with our possession of the ball
and we scored goals at the right times."
Former Lynn player Andy Stanhope is still full of admiration for the club.
The Tulips' boss, who played for the Linnets in the 1990s, had no argument with Tuesday's result.
He said: "We had some good chances in the first half and I was gutted we didn't take any of them but we weren't good in the second half.
"Lynn have a lot of good players and scored four great goals.
"Money isn't everything but it does matter when you're able to attract the kind of players they have."

He added: "It's a great club with a great following."
But Stanhope still believes Lynn will finish runners-up in the league for the second season running. He's backing Long Buckby.
Spalding started brightly with Ryan O'Laughlin testing Alex Street, but once Lynn had taken the lead on 21 minutes the Tulips challenge began to wilt.
Danny Beaumont swept in Jordan Yong's centre to give Lynn the lead and seven minutes later Jack Defty headed home Dan Buhlemann's cross to make it 2-0.
Simon Mowbray was guilty of missing two chances for the home team each side of the interval but Spalding chances were few and far between.
Lynn's third came on 64 minutes from Danny White, who peeled away at the back post to head home a great cross from Jamie Thurlbourne.
Robbie Harris completed the scoring five minutes from time when he emphatically volleyed home a centre from Stephen Spriggs.
