THE Linnets recorded back-to- back wins for the first time this season as they ended Hucknall Town's four-match winning streak in convincing fashion on Tuesday night.
Lynn were good value for their win, with player-boss Carl Heggs marking his home debut with a goal and Anthony Robinson on target with a brace.
The Linnets moved up to seventh in the table as a result and Heggs said: "We got what we deserved to be honest.
"Hucknall had a good 15- minute spell in the second half, but other than that we were the better side by a long way.
"The clean sheet or myself scoring didn't give me the biggest thrill on Tuesday night, it was the fact that when Hucknall had their good 15 minutes we stuck to our guns and weathered the storm, whereas earlier in the season we would have crumbled. "Getting Lathaniel Rowe- Turner in has given the defence a massive boost and we've now got a good mix at the back."
On two-goal hero Robinson, Heggs said: "He was just awesome. I had a chat with him before the game on Tuesday and told him that he will be a target in this league for the sole reason that he is one of the best strikers in the league.
"I told him that players will stand on his toes, pull his shirt and try and upset him but I've told him not to react and rise above it.
"When he plays like he did on Tuesday he's a brilliant player to have in the team."
Heggs, who had seen an early effort flash wide of the Hucknall target, handed Lynn the lead in the 26th minute following a quick throw
His first attempt was blocked by visiting keeper Daniel Haystead but Heggs reacted quickly to scramble the ball home.
Lynn continued to dominate, without any joy, before Hucknall were handed a lifeline in the 70th minute, which Laurie Wilson wasted from the penalty spot after Bobby Aisien had hauled down Antwon Bonnick in the box.
Wilson then struck the Lynn woodwork from a corner before Beswick's corner kick found Robinson's head in the 78th minute.
Danny Gay then produced a fantastic double save, kicking away Bonnick's shot and parrying Steff Frost's follow up. Lynn completed the scoring as the game entered stoppage time. Robinson latched onto Beswick's 40-yard crossfield pass and, having forced Haystead to commit himself, cheekily rolled the ball into the empty net.
