Vauxhall Motors 1 Lynn 3

THE Linnets gave the perfect send-off to outgoing manager Keith Webb on Saturday With one of the best displays of his tenure in the hot seat
Lynn finished a rollercoaster inaugural Blue Square North season with a fine victory thanks to goals from Adam. Smith (his first since returning to the club), Jack Defty, and Ross Kelly's debut strike for the first team.
It means Defty, with 13 goals, became the season's top scorer for the first time in his Lynn career. just pipping the now-departed Michael Frew:
Webb said: "We started well and played as well as we've played all season.
"We soon got into a- lead, they equalised, but the boys kept going; and Jack Defty got a goal from a set-piece.
"The young lads came on and did well, and Ross Kelly got a good goal with his left foot from 12 yards out."
The win was all the more remarkable as the team arrived late at 2.10pm due to accidents on the M6 and M56.
Kelly, who was making an almost miraculous comeback from injury which was thought to
have put an end to his season, was on the bench.

There were three changes by Webb. Scott Mitchell returned to midfield when skipper Andy Johnson failed to recover from a groin injury.
Bradley Thomas came back to central defence and Andrew Fisk came in for Charlie Defty. Just two minutes into the game Lynn took the lead as Mitchell put through Smith, who scored from six yards.
Vauxhall's Lee Furlong headed home from a set-piece to equalise. The Linnets restored the advantage before the break. Defty won a corner and he turned home Smith's flag-kick.
The decisive third goal came when Dominic Dwyer, who entered proceedings at half-time, set up fellow substitute Kelly who netted past keeper James Coates. Now the Keith Webb era is over, there has already been speculation on his and Lee Glover's replacement(s).
Current players Andy Johnson and Mark Peters, and former boss Tommy Taylor have all been tipped.
