Chesham 1 Lynn 0

LYNN have gone five-and-a-half hours without scoring as a decent start to the season continues to elude them.
On Saturday they lost their third successive game 1-0, and were well beaten. The margin of victory would have been greater if Chesham's forwards had their shooting boots on.
The best the visitors could muster was Jack Defty hitting the woodwork.
More problems for Linnets manager Tommy Taylor, who is searching for a striker as Danny Bloomfield was absent with a foot injury that has been troubling him over the summer; while defender Simon Clark has been allowed to leave the club and coach at Ryman Leaguers Leyton.
As Bloomfield's replacement, Taylor used up front former Chesham man Paul Kelly, who has apparently never played in that position, in a 44-2 formation with Cedric Anselin and Sam McMahon in wide midfield.
For Clark, Martin McNeil made his first start for three years on his return to the club.
In a dire performance, the team's passing was poor and gave the ball away too often.
Chesham had a good first half spell that should have resulted in more goals.
John Lawford (who's scored 140 times for the Generals) wasted the first chance on seven minutes, smashing the ball high from just two yards.

Graham Hall headed over from a few yards out on the quarter-hour mark, and two minutes later Lawford had a penalty appeal turned down when keeper John Higgs rushed out.
After the match Higgs said he had made contact with Lawford, whose strike partner Gary Sippetts soon headed over from Steve Sinclair's cross, then fired over from just two yards on 35 minutes after Dave Fotheringham had pulled the ball back.
Chesham scored just before half-time when Adam Smith and Mark Camm gave the ball away. Sippetts made amends, netting the loose ball after his first shot was blocked by Higgs.
Both sides hit the underside of the bar in the opening five minutes of the second half.
First Lawford with a free kick from the right, then Jack Defty following a trademark run and chip over home keeper Darren Bonfield, who otherwise had a quiet day.
Defty was replaced by his brother Charlie following a bad tackle on the hour, when Lynn got their first corner.
This resulted in a header into the keeper's arms by Grant Cooper, who pushed forward and had three shots saved as the Linnets sought an equaliser.
In the closing minutes, Higgs denied Fotheringham and lively sub Leon Callender who also had a goal bound effort deflected wide.
