Banbury United 0 Lynn 2

LYNN secured a vital three points with a quietly efficient display in a game of few incidents on Tuesday.
The result may seem unremarkable for the title-chasing Linnets, but The Walks outfit had shipped a total of double figures in their last three winless league appearances at the Spencer Stadium.
Football here is never straightforward, with a heavy pitch inevitable after the ground was under four feet of water during the summer floods.
The Puritans, under new boss Kieran Sullivan, are never pushovers at home, so this was a useful marker for Lynn's improvement.
Linnets boss Keith Webb said: "It was a battle and we had to show another side of our game from the weekend.
"Banbury were very direct and we had to grind out a result and compete on a very difficult pitch.
"With their direct style of play I knew we'd be under pressure and they'd create some chances. It wasn't an easy situation but we coped."
On Dan Buhlemann, who came on as a second half substitute for Michael Frew, Webb said: "Dan was absolutely superb playing out of position. He had an outstanding game and it was though he'd been playing there all of his life.

"His performance has certainly given me some food for thought."
Lynn took the lead on 22 minutes when Jack Defty headed home a Joe Francis centre. For an hour that seemed to be it, barring a few threats to the Lynn goalmouth.
At the other end, keeper Wheeler saved at the feet of Danny Bloomfield, then foiled a Michael Frew header just before the break.
Subs John Turner and Buhlemann out wide set up Defty, who had a "goal" disallowed for offside on 75 minutes.
Banbury's best effort fell to Bryan after a ball from sub Gooderick, but Scott Howie saved at his feet.
The game was sewn up with three minutes remaining when Francis burst into the box and fired home from a cross with his trusty left foot.
Buhlemann's effort from 25 yards struck the angle of post and bar as Lynn moved into second spot.
They went down a place following Team Bath's win at Tiverton on Wednesday.
