Why would having Cully back mean that we are going backwards?  :dontknow:

Joe Simpson?

Would he want it, and if so, should he be given a chance?

Joe Simpson has done himself no harm with this result today.  Just have a feeling it would smack a bit of a Mark Hughes type appointment.  Whoever Bal goes with he needs to get this one bang on the money after what has turned out an expensive disaster with his first go at appointing a Manager.

I'm sill in the Cully camp. Proven track record in getting Boston and Lynn out of Step 2. Though his record at step 1 is poor to say the least.

Whoever gets it has a decent group of players to work with so it should prove to be an attractive proposition for the incoming Coach/Manager
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

I've just had a listen to Gary Setch's post match interview following Corby's 1-1 draw on the road.

According to the interviewer and Setch Kings Lynn have made an approach for him

If the new regime wants to go forward within the community, why not give Simpson a go. He started the Academy without any experience and produced players who went on to higher levels and did the same at Boston. He has won promotions in the women's and men's leagues, so no stranger to some success. Or go with the same old same olds with a long throw and passing backwards ideas.

Apparently to Be announced next week and old faces in the frame that got us to the National League :scarf:

To be honest, I wouldn't be too upset if any of the current names being mentioned got the job.

I feel both Cully and Setch have unfinished business at Lynn. If Bal gives the job to Setch, I hope it's for the right reason and not just to score popularity points with supporters, which has been suggested when Fletcher Toll signed. Who else has ever interacted with the Supporters as much as Setch used to do? People say he has no contacts at this level. Maybe, but he also didn't have anywhere near the playing budget that subsequent Managers had.

With the Cleeve distraction removed, just what could Cully achieve?  I'm sure backroom staff of Backie and Joe would love to see him back at the helm, so the move could even be seen as a seamless one.

Joe? Who knows what we really have here. Could be a real Gem, and who would deny him the chance.

Jimmy Dean. I've said before that he appears to be destined to become Lynn Boss sooner or later.

Adam Hinshelwood and Mark Robinson?  I think they would both have very tough competition from those named above.

Nice problem for Bal to have.

IMHO Setch had a big budget for the level we played at. We took all Long Buckbys best players . They came here for extra money and to play in front of a crowd , 500 instead of 50 and a dog . We were big fish in a little pond at that time . Cully came in, introduced discipline and Professionalism. He did well, but in the end threw his toys out of the pram, blaming the pitch etc, giving feisty interviews or not giving interviews at all. Personally I hope we give someone else a chance. Whoever that may be .

Must have been a dream day for Simpson.  It wasn't so long back when he was at Boston that Cleeve described him as someone who puts the cones out for Culverhouse
