Big improvement on last season in terms of League position.  Mind that was down to Cleeve's poor Managerial appointment then was to be rescued by Lakeland.

Think it is going to be an interesting few weeks.

Very interesting post match interview with AL, setting out what is needed going forward.  Both on and off the pitch.

Also emotional interview with Josh Coulson.  He got quite choked up   All credit to the guy.  Heart on the sleeve time. Total respect to him.

Adam Lakeland says he wants assurances that all is well behind the scenes at King's Lynn Town before he can commit himself to the club.

This comment was from the Norwich paper.   Did Lakeland actually say ?   I must have missed that or did he say it off screen ?

Disappointed but not surprised that he left Crane on the bench.  He has ability, and it was a game we had to win, not lose close!  I believe Al's football mindset cost us too many points, particularly against teams in the relegation zone.  Ah well, here's to next season in the league that currently suits us best.  I don't much care who the manager is as long as he can spot a good player and attract him to the club, (and pick him!).  Life goes on!

In his post match interview AL acknowledged a lack of goals as a problem and mentioned Margett''s and Gold's injuries as factors. Is midfield creativity also an issue? If so could Hughes absence over the latter stages of the season be a factor? I freely admit that i have only seen him.play a few times but he did seem to be a forward thinking creative player?

He mentioned Margetts and Gold but failed to shed any light on the other striker HE signed.  Williams.  Why on earth did he waste valuable budget on a player he obviously didn't fancy ?

Attacking creative forward thinking players are not of interest at Kings Lynn ..grinding out games is most important.Until we concede then we really are scratching our heads

Was looking at recent goals for.  Last 10 games we have notched just 7 times.  3 of those 7 came v  a Farsley side who were relegated and playing an a basic academy team.

Listening to Lakeland's interview of last night I thought he was being somewhat harsh to call the players he  inherited as 'crap'

Jones, Ronan, McFadden, Coulson, Crowther, Hargreaves, Ponticelli, Stephens, Hughes, Barrett.
Interestingly Josh Barrett scored 16 goals for Aldershot this season in the National League.  Shame Lakeland couldn't get a tune out of him.  How close would we have got to Brackley with his goal scoring?

It was always going to be a tall order to win the playoffs. We would have needed to outscore 3 very good teams, away too. That's been our downfall all season, not scoring. Hopefully, AL will stay and sign a couple of forwards. I'd like to see him adopt a more passing game too.
However, there is some uncertainty, so until that is clarified we will have to just wait and see what develops.
Overall, a good season.

It was obvious Barrett was a higher standard than the rest of the team, and no surprise at all that he has done well in the NL.  It was poor judgement that kept on the bench so often.  I believe Crane has had the same treatment.  When we badly need a goal it seems crazy to me to take one forward off and put another on.  It might help to have two on, especially if we're dominating the game.  I don't think I've seen a Lynn team so short of creative players, and hope we change it dramatically next season...

Looks like the Play off QF have both gone to form.  Chester beat Buxton tonight.  Semi's

Scunthorpe v Chorley
Kidderminster v Chester.

Chorley are semi professional I think...yet we were all seemingly happy with a 0-0  up until the 83rd minute.
An attacking approach all season would have probably won us the league  and kept us entitled fans happy

We haven't had good enough forwards and just because we are full time doesn't mean we will beat a semi pro team. We are not ready for National League, on or off the pitch.
Let's strengthen where needed and go again next season.

Hi John H. I absolutely agree with your post. You've hit the nail on the head.

And after everything that has happened both on and off the pitch this season, I can see no point in us staying full time.

Presumably that would be less expensive, and might make the future of the club a little more viable.

At this level I think a lot of part time players give more to a club as they are usually playing for the team and not a paycheck? Many full time players jus turn up and go through the motions? :dontknow:

But, if we'd have beaten Chester, we would have had home advantage - albeit only for the Chorley match, but a win vs Chester, then Chorley, get some confidence going and who knows.....

That Chester defeat - well, the manner of it, doesn't sit well with me.

But, it's all done now - overall a better season than the previous one, but after hovering around the top for a good chunk of the season, I can't help but feel disappointed
