What are people's thoughts ahead of Saturdays opener, gate result etc ?
Seemingly a lot of interest in this game. People were already camped on the field next to the stadium today.
AP I don't think they are footy fans ,I will go for 1576 crowd
Been watching Lynn since around the late 60’s, but lost interest after the Kidderminster playoff defeat and only went maybe 4 times in the last 2 seasons.
With all the changes - owners, new manager and players, I decided to purchase a season ticket for this season, which is the first time I’ve ever done that.
I went to the Spalding game and liked the look of a few players, notably Hall-Johnson, Forde-Brown, Nyahwema, Gyasi. Think maybe Chadwick shouldn’t venture so far out of his area though.
I remember FC United fans being thankful to have a team to support and did so whether they won, drew or lost. That is how it should be as I think we are a work in progress. Liked what I saw v Spalding (result was irrelevant), played from the back passing the ball, a much more pleasing style of football.
As for Telford, obviously would be great to win, but it really isn’t the be all and end all. Think we will be attack minded and put in a good performance. Attendance wise, 1500 - 1800.
I've only been to the home friendlies, but I have enjoyed the proactive front foot play.
It was... exciting, which I haven't been able to say in a long time.
Such a pleasure to see us creating rather than reacting. There's had to be a lot of "firefighting" in recent times, due to the style of play.
I commented on another thread my concern for the keeper coming almost to the halfway line and taking part in the field play. He's asking to be lobbed, so will be interesting to see how that goes.
I'm really looking forward to the season and have my usual seat up "in the gods" so I can have an overview and shout rather a lot 😁
Very therapeutic and something I urge everyone to try for the sake of their mental health...plus our players will be encouraged by hearing it 😂
As for the gate : I have assumed that we have sold 800+ season tickets, as mine is 680 and I bought it at the earliest price. On top of that there should be at least the same number of days tickets, from people who want us to succeed and those who don't.
So I'm saying 1966 attendance and I really hope it's more 😺
And a 3-1 win 😯

Quinn. the number on your season ticket is your account number which you opened in order to buy the ticket.
The last figure I saw for season ticket sales was 380ish a few weeks ago.

Thanks for pointing that out to me Kenny, I stand corrected 😯
Looks like I've been a bit too optimistic with my numbers, but I'll stick with my prediction, even if my calculation was flawed 😺
That sort of gate would exceed everyones expections but coupled with an exciting game would set up the season nicely.
will go for a draw as neither team will want to lose there opening game and a crowd of 1000 as many people are on holiday at the moment
I would hope Bal will want to make a huge statement on the opening day. With everything off and indeed in the pitch looking very different.
I'm going with 1400 and a 4-1 win. Crowd behind the team Telford may well find themselves having to deal with a very tough afternoon.
No disrespect to Telford but this looks a massive opportunity for Rowe to put down a marker as I'm sure tougher days lie ahead
Gate: 1200 - holiday season, but there has been a lot of promotion on social media - so hoping for more
Result: 5-0 - I'm expecting a very attacking team right from the start and wouldn't be shocked if we're 4 up by halftime.
Blimey, the blood is pumping through the veins!
Telford also have a new 'moneyed' backer so may have boosted their squad like us.
Gatewise lets hope those who have stayed away in recent years feel able to return and support their Club.
A gate of1400 would be a nice start.
I think a crowd around 1,400 will be really good for first game of season. A good win and we can build from there.
Score prediction 3 - 1 Lynn. Gyasi to score first goal of season!
Winning start 1500 attendance. 12 points from first 6 games!

I think 5-0 is very optimistic, or just your wishful thinking Spiv. Somewhat disrespectful towards Telford too. They won promotion through the playoffs, which is no mean feat and are currently on an 18 competitive game unbeaten run.
I think we will create lots if chances, we just need to score from them. I said earlier between 1500 - 1800. Anything less than 1300 would be disappointing. Score prediction 2-2, we didn't keep a clean sheet in any of our pre season games and thought we looked vulnerable against Spalding.
Looking forward to the new era. Win, draw or lose, we all need to stick together and enjoy the fact that we have a football team to support.
I'd seen on the homepage "Fans, on the Bucks' forum, have expressed concern of the club's defensive abilities going into the new season."
So surely we can take advantage of that. Yes 5-0 is optimistic, but I've always been a glass half full guy. Again from the homepage "The last time a Telford team won a league game at The Walks was in
September 1967!"

In that case, 6-0 with a 2000 gate.
No pressure JR! :laughcry:
Think this seems to be the most exciting start to the season the Club has enjoyed in years.
Have to feel a certain amount of sympathy for Stephen Cleeve ( yes I'm surprised I'm saying it). The guy gave it his best shot for a good few years but never really got the fans in side. Now just a few short months of handing the reins over to Jo/Bal the Club seems to have been transformed and a massive goodwill factor installed.
Have been speaking to several people today who are going to the game tomorrow, some of which haven't set foot in the Walks for years.
I wonder if SC's EDP column has been handed over to a new owner? I guess with a new broom in at Carrow Road, then Kings Lynn won't get much coverage well at least in the short term.
Roll on tomorrow, have the. Club made it public how many tickets for tomorrow have been sold?
Just hope Telford don't turn up with any thoughts on spoiling the party. 🥳 😂
Not long now folks. COYL :scarf:

Very slightly premature. Unless something is happening before kick off today, the owner is still Stephen Cleeve.
It would have been nice to start the season under the ownership of TSI, but the change in ownership must be very close now.
