Two weeks have slipped by since Rowe's 'resignation' and all we have had is the curt message to advise us that the Manager is no longer with us.
No further explanation no uplifting words on what the next steps are. No mention of interviews taking place or the giving JS a trial period to see if he can step up to the mark.
Having a full time CEO surely we should expect something. C'mon Bal wakey, wakey let's be having you. Where is all this community Club philosophy?
What's the plan?
To win on Saturday would be a good start.
:scarf:
There's no such thing as a "free hit". That's defeatist talk!
Keeping supporters informed appears to be a low priority for the club. Perhaps a little digging and asking some pertinent questions from the local media might throw light on the current situation.
The good news days are easy.
The mark of a good CEO is dealing with the brown stuff when that occurs.
Mal you may see it as a curt message from the Club regarding Rowes departure other people see it like this. Quoted from Gavin Caneys recent article in the free local paper " Internal and external investigations need to take place and great care has to be taken not to prejudice any proceedings that may follow as a result. Words have to be used very sensibly and with strict laws around reporting and defamation is it any wonder considerable care is being taken by the Linnets ?
The difficulty is that the court of public opinion turns quicker than it used to. A lack of comment or denouncing is now seen as cordoning. It isnt that simple "
Makes you stop and think about making anything public until all the legal implications are checked and not saying something just for the sake of it.
Interesting post Vera. Far more meat on that bone than we got from the Club's 2/3 liner on the subject.
However I think the EDP coverage of the story leaving readers in little doubt.
I was more looking at things going forward in which way the Club is going. Not been a mention of JS being given a trial period or if the Club are casting the net further afield with possible candidates being invited to apply or indeed invited to interview.
Over two weeks now and no follow up information coming out.

I have to agree, it's a good post.
In fact it's so good, I bet even a CEO would be proud of it.

Excellent post, straightforward and to the point.
In this hi tech era, it's easy to want everything within seconds, but the law and the process of gathering evidence just doesn't work like Amazon Prime (other online shops are also available 🛒🛍)
Why do we have to know everything that goes on at the club day-to-day ? The relationship is simple. We pay and they provide... hopefully.

I don't think anybody has said that supporters need to know "everything".
"We pay, they provide" is not adequate for most in this day and age. Everything is about communication these days, be it football or other matters.
"We pay, they provide" is for customers, not supporters. If the Club wants more from supporters (be it their money or assistance with their community work) and not just have them just turning up for a couple of hours on a Saturday, they need to engage more.
With the Supporters now involved via the Trust, there's nothing wrong with them showing an interest or being curious in whats going on? In fact I would say that's a very positive thing, and that its something that can (should) be developed further.
With the Trust members voting in favour of purchasing shares in the Club, that proves that some supporters have an interest that goes beyond a Saturdays afternoon entertainment (not many, but its something to build on). After all, they have a financial interest in the Club. If you have a financial interest in something, I would say its only natural to want to have as much information as possible.
If the Club wants Supporters involved, and not just for the monetary aspect, they need to understand that life is a two way street.
Also, in this day and age, Supporters expect more than just a few post on a Clubs website. As long as its conducted correctly, the Club need to also engage with Supporters on Social Media (not just post....engage). Social Media is not going to go away.............it will only develop further. It's here to stay so the Club may as well embrace the opportunity, get systems in place and get on with it and not fall further behind than they already are.
I find it so strange that our new Owner has basically earned his Millions by using Social Media and communication, but the Club still lack in this area.
Finally, slightly off track but very relevant when discussing communication.
We finally have a PSC and a Director registered at Companies House. Whats happening with the transfer of the shares? At the moment, it appears that Stephen Cleeve still owns the Club (even if he no longer runs it on a day to day basis).
Until this is sorted, the Trust have said that they won't part with any money (VERY, VERY WISE). Isn't it about time we had an update on this?

You're talking to the person who had Facebook and Twitter accounts providing club news and updates before the club even had any social media accounts.
Once they realised, as you say, that social media wasn't going away, the club crawled out of the primordial slime and, albeit initially inadequate, started to use social media. At that stage I closed my accounts and left it to them.
Since then, I'm afraid it's been a fluctuating service, but perhaps the club is prioritising the list of jobs that need attention. Rightly or wrongly.

Point proven.
That's what we need to know.
Do they want Supporters or customers?
And of course as the (soon to be) co-owners the Trust state, "open and honest".
First game this season. Paid £23 for a seat in the stand and was unable to see some of the game as people were standing in front of us and not a steward in sight. I got the impression that the powers that be were more interested in money than supporters. I hope I am wrong I hope the trust is very careful.
:dontknow: Rowe's gone resigned, been arrested.
Joe is given a chance to show his capabilities
No other news posted.
It's been 2 weeks what do people expect.
If we get hammered at Scunny will action be taken?
If we do well will Joe get an extension to carry on.
There are some items that need time and we need to wait.
Just keep supporting a very exciting team with some excellent players and wait.
Always seems Bal is more reactive than proactive.
I can help thinking of Rowe hadn't taken the job in the summer would Simpson have been 2nd choice ? No of course he wouldn't.
Normally when a manager 'leaves' the press release reads along the lines of ..... we are actively seeking a replacement and have had a high calibre of applicant approach the Club.
Another name to throw in the mix. Aussie. No not Ange. Antony Limbrick.
Anyone else heard this rumour ?

Spot on! The silence from the club has been deafening!
My thoughts are that they are dragging things out until after today's match. IF (big if!) we can pull of a shock today then they will appoint Joe as manager on Monday but if (much more likely!) we get turned over, then expect to still hear some news on Monday, but something along the lines of "we hope to have a new manager in place by next weekend"
Just my opinion as to possibly why we have had the complete lack of communication so far.
Hearing that a couple of players that are listened to, are eager to get Cully back.
Talks have apparently taken place. :dontknow:
Joe will give Bal a nice problem to have, when he turns Scunny over today!

Seems like this chap Bal is preparing to give Cleeve a good run for his money.
Maybe we should have been more careful what we wished for

Is Cleeve still there and involved?
From memory, I think we were informed by Bal (sorry if it wasn't him), that Cleeve was staying on so he could be involved in reducing the Legacy debt (Although I can't see that it's really a Legacy debt as it's a Club debt and the Club is just being taken over, not reformed).
Quarter way through season now, so it would be nice to know how our Ex Chairman (and still major shareholder via Blue and Gold Holdings) is getting on in this new role.
Is he having any success?
No doubt there will be lots of ideas on the table to be considered
