Absolute farce...I had been checking all social media since 11am as it was looking very dodgy.Game was on so arrived at the walks at 14.30 to see everyone walking away soaked.Poor old Macclesfield what a wasted trip.

Obviously people are not going to be happy about it but I guess Bal and co wanted to give it every opportunity to go ahead, not just because people traveled but it would be important to get the cash in sooner rather than later.

I hope the new boys in charge have budgeted for such things, as my money is on that there could be a few like this during the coming winter.

Some serious and quite vicious comments already appearing on X and Facebook, but I don't think Bal can do anything about attempting to censor those platforms.

I don't think it's unreasonable for the people who had already paid to be given a refund if requested.

Are you saying he can censor this forum then?

The referee makes the decision whether or not the game is on, not Lucy Verasamy.

I'm sure Bal would have pulled in a local ref to give it the once over this morning. Today's ref must have arrived at the ground around 1pm so why was it left until 2.15 to pull the game ?

Never a good look for the Club to have game called off so late but some of the social media comments aimed at Bal are somewhat over the top.

Not a lot he can do about those comments so best he stick to  tackling  the low hanging fruit

When the ref turned up the pitch was playable and at 2.00pm there was 15 minutes of torrential rain. The ref took another look and water was collecting and pooling especially in front of the main stand. With the forecast of more rain the ref decided the pitch would not be safe to play on. You cant control the weather and nobody would have wanted the game to go ahead more than the Club.

Didn't we have a game called off late at Brackley?

Some irony in there Mallard. Time to get off the fence .

Scarborough game off before 14:00 ! Don't think the ref took the weather forecast into account.
I pity the poor sod who travelled from Norwich to get halfway up the rear of the main stand to be met with game off at 14:20 ish.

Just spoken to a mate who went today ( travelled 60 mile round trip). He wasn't a happy bunny.  The reason he was given was that a drain at the Hospital end of Ground hasn't been drained which backed up so the water from the pitch couldn't get away.

17.6mm of rain in Lynn today! The Scarborough match I believe was called off yesterday as the pitch was covered in snow.
Travelled from Hunstanton( rainfall here 12mm).
Paid my £20 warmed up with hot chocolate went to the stand, postponement announced, went to ticket office £20 refunded! came home! Good news;fine for Xmas lights switch on tomorrow.

Great that they gave you a refund.

This won't help cashflow one bit, especially after just paying the PAYE bill.

Difficult job, this footballing lark.

Would have kept the ticket for the rearranged game which is likely to be on a Tuesday evening in December
but didn't fancy this prospect.
