Title: New manager
Post by: Linnet1993 on May 15, 2018, 08:24:33 PM
Any news? Really hoping for it to be sorted this week.

Feel like we may already behind our rivals if they are coming and poaching one our best players.

Would Adam Stevens fit the bill?

Adam Stevens has definitely left Grantham. No idea if he's being linked to the current vacancy at Lynn though. I suppose he could be interested in the Coalville job as he has history there.

From Grantham's forum:

Kevin Watson has just left Bishop Stortford. Could be an option (especially if he brings his mate Teddy with him).

We be an ideal job for IC, who lives in Bishops Stratford I believe.

Ex Lynn player Simon Clark who was in Directors box for play off games?
Apparently big friend of Sam G.

Has Sam been helping our cause?

One ex Lynn player who has done very well is Harrogate Town FC manager Simon Weaver, he has taken them into the National League, also on his squad is ex-linnet George Thompson. Their season ticket in the highest non league will be £277, (terrace) which =£12 per home game. Sounds very fair to me, and well done Simon.

Think Simon Clarke would do very good job for Lynn.

Is this the Simon Clark who was a player with Lynn and Managed Stamford ?

This sounds a ĎMarriageí from hell with himself and Cleeve.  Can see a good few players leaving if this is true.  Big changes coming

Yep - also at Worksop, so I guess a friend of Mettam.

Clark seems well qualified and was cetainly one of the best centre backs who has played for us.

We do not need a "Journeyman Manager" - we need a manager who has contacts, player respect and has played the game.  Simon Lappin for me.

Clark has contacts and they will probably be young and from the Nottingham area. If he is friendly with Sam G perhaps he can pick up a few from Peterborough.

On the subject of season tickets Macfleet, Bromley have extended their early bird season ticket offer, £200 for an adult which includes 2 free children's season tickets and entry to all friendlies. £240 thereafter. Not bad for National League football.

I did wonder how long it would be before Worthington's name came up!

I think I'd prefer a manager looking to progress his career, not one just seeing out his time.    :oldman"

He was I believe Mr Cleeve first choice before IC came along?  :dontknow:

Worthington would certainly be on par to what we had with IC, if not better.  Ticks a lot of boxes.  The thing, for me is, whoever comes in.... can they work with Cleeve? Letís hope after the IC/Cleeve fall out, that the owner will have learnt a valuable lesson

I know as much as everyone else, IC resigned three months before the season ended,, with the option for Mr Cleeve to put things right and stay, Mr Cleeve didn't put those things right so he left!

All the people who have quit the club, canít be down to Cleeve it has to be everyone else. Loopy I always admire your blind faith where owners are concerned.

Would seem part of the IC issues, namely the pitch was already planned. Nothing could be done until the end of the season.

Very true Mallard but itís not just the chairman who the manager has got to work with, itís his loyal natives behind the scenes too especially when there seems to be someone leaking information out of the club.

If there is a mole at the club that would explain the state of the pitch last season.  :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry:

Following on from that ,is there any truth in the rumour that Barry Fysh is stepping down from the FOTL? I know he is stepping down as programme editor as they have advertised for a programme compiler. Maybe he wants to enjoy the rest of his retirement stress free? :dontknow:

Have I been banned as well Loppy, did you get this from someone in the know at the Club?

As for what I have been told during the season with regard to the relationship between IC and SC.  I would totally trust this information as everything I was told, happened.

A tie-up with Peterborough with Sam G could prove interesting with Steve Evans there.

I think Sam is going to have his work cut out keeping the peace between SC and SC according to sources.

Itís not going to be dull, thatís for sure.  If people want  to find out all things Kings Lynn FC then Saddlebow of a Wednesday night is the place to be!

I see today that  Mike Derbyshire has left the UEA set up  where he was head of Mens and womans football

Former Great Yarmouth manager   Posibilty he might come here  just a thought

Derbyshire ?  You canít be serious. Have a look at his history. Yarmouth Gorleston Diss, Watton plus a few others.  Might as well look at someone like Danny White at Thetford.

Have to say Iím disappointed that Neil has 100% ruled himself out. Canít think he is the sort who would go back on anything. Man who knows his own mind.  Could it be Backie in with a Coach ? Are the likes of Ronnie Moore now ruled out? As in will we go down the part time Manager on part time money ?

How important is a Cup run?

Could it be a decision regarding a new Manager is dependent upon if there is money coming in from a Cup run or not?
Title: Re: New manager
Post by: Mallard on September 21, 2018, 05:48:04 PM
I donít think the Chairman has made any secret of the fact that a cup run is the difference between breaking even or working at a loss. Double bubble this year as well.
