Can confirm that the AGM will take place in the cafe at the club on Wednesday 10th July. 7pm for a 7.15pm start.

All current members are welcome.

Still looking for a couple of committee members. If interested please let us know before hand or on the evening.

On the night we will be taking membership payment for new season, alongside the 100 club and 12th man club.

Also, donít forget the pitch squares initiative where for £10 you can pick a square on the pitch to ďownĒ. All proceeds go towards pitch improvements.

Update from last nights committee meeting:

As already posted the AGM takes place on Wednesday 10th July at 7pm in the cafe at the ground.

2 new committee members have joined - full roles of committee members to follow soon.

FOTL are pleased to be sponsoring Ryan Fryattís away shirt for next season.

From the new season, members will have the chance to win a free programme for every first team home game. Full details to follow.

Also for the new season, we will arrange for the winner of the player of the month award to be presented with their award by the players home shirt sponsor.

100 club and 12th man to continue. If interested please contact us.

Pleased to say the 12th man has raised over £4,000 in the last 2 seasons. This money goes directly into the playing budget.

To be confirmed, but looking at offering discounted travel for all members.

Members will continue to receive discount in the club shop as currently.

All junior members (u16) will have the chance to win a signed shirt/ball at the end of the season. Free to join.

All current members can rejoin at the AGM, new members can join after this date; the application form will be on the club website soon. Cost continues to be £5 a year.

We will also be taking payments for membership/100 club/12th man and the new pitch squares scheme on the 29th June, when the club is open for season tickets (12pm to 1.30pm).

Thank you to all our members for your continued support.

This is my problem with the Friends - how can you appoint new people to the committee 'before' the AGM?  I know for many people the rules and constitution of the Trust are sited as a barrier for it being as proactive as some would like, but I think some of that is in the interpretation but that is a better option for me than the very, very loose structure that the Friends has always operated.  Its not that the Friends should have lots of rules and regulations but if they are taking peoples money and having a 'membership' then it is only right that they have a constitution so people can see what they are signing up to.

Also as a very minor 'pet hate', why the hell do the Friends get involved with player sponsorship (and last season were a fully blown match sponsor)?  Given that all their funds should find their way to the club by some means or other, sponsorship should be the last thing that they are involved in, surely the club can find enough 'external' sponsors to fill the gaps?

The friends do have a constitution thatís that answered, the next one you asked about was why do they have the players sponcership the answer is so the club do not have to pay the V A T  if you have any more worries on how the F O T L is run you only have to ask me and will do my best to answer them has a F O T L committee member as of tonight

Thanks for the answers, please could you direct me to the said constitution to have a read at my leisure?  Also the issue I have with sponsorship is not whether the Friends process the receipts, although that does raise all sorts of other questions, but why the Friends themselves sponsor a player and also in last night's accounts sponsored a match - given that all surpluses generated by the Friends should eventually find their way to the club in one form or another it seems strange to use a route that would a) attract VAT (for match sponsorship) and b) block 'external' sponsorship income coming into the club.

Don't get me wrong, the AGM last night demonstrated how well certain elements of the Friends operation is working and there was a good chunk of money into the club that wouldn't have otherwise been generated but that doesn't mean questions can't be asked and unless you were elected to a PR / supporter liaison role at the mini committee meeting last night after the AGM I think you would probably be better saying you would be happy to take any questions back to the committee.

Hi Tony. If you attended last nights AGM why didn't you ask same questions there, you had ample time?  You could have also volunteered to be on the Committee.

Good point but some people donít think that fast when in a public meetings itís only after when they have had time to think about it ,regarding being the liaison officer maybe I should apply for the job as I have no problem speaking in public

Up until last night I wasn't a member of the Friends so had no right to ask anything at the AGM, next year I may not be so quiet.  As for going on the committee, there are a couple of logistical things I need to sort first so not the right time but I had already offered to help out informally when I can.

Maybe now is the time for the Trust to resurrect the position of Friends liason officer, a position I held whilst I was a Trust director? :dontknow:
