Title: Sack Race
Post by: Mallard on August 08, 2019, 10:03:30 AM
First casualties of the new season In The NLN.  Bradford Park Avenue have sacked their Manager after 2 games ( both 5-0 defeats.  One being at home to Guiseley).

On the subject of Guiseley they are the only team with a 100% record after just 2 games.  Could be a tight League.

AFC Flyde had 2 Wembley appearances last season.  Winning the FA Trophy and getting beat in the Play-off final.  Then 16 points from 16 games gets the guy, who brought all that success, the sack.

Amazing.

Not a sacking as such but The Gloucester City Manager has quit.

Russell Slade at Hereford maybe looking over his shoulder going by recent results and fans not being happy.   Big test for him at The Walks this coming Saturday.

Mallard, Russell Slade wanted by some Leyton Orient fans to 'steady the ship' following the death before the start of the season of Justin Edinburgh and the 29 day tenure by Carl Fletcher. Slade was manager there previously from 2010-2014.

I wonder if the meeting with Slade started with their Chairman simply mentioning "Kings Lynn Town FC?"  :swear: :swear:"Shut the door on your way out!" :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :banghead;

I wonder if there are any regrets for letting Peter Beadle go. That was a shocking decision.

I see Cambridge Utd and Calderwood have parted company, hope they don't come sniffing our way for a replacement

Think Cambridge Utd would be mad if they didn't at least consider IC but whether he would want to go there at this point in the season is another matter, given their current form they could easily be dragged further into a relegation scrap which if it all went wrong (and we did our bit) could see them replacing Boston as our Boxing Day fixture in 2020!  I think IC is enjoying this season more than the previous two (less expectation / pressure?) but come the end of the season things might change if we did gain promotion to the National League depending how the club adapted to that challenge.
