Title: Large Crowds and Queues
Post by: westlynnmike on August 08, 2019, 12:03:26 PM
Lots of comments about Queues stretching out to Tennyson Road and along the Fence Line. Seems to be a blockage at the Box Office.

The problem is at the Ticket Box Office. A speedier way of paying and issuing tickets is needed. I remember on one occasion they had printed off several hundred tickets so less of a wait for printer to print off ticket when there was a queue.

Also they could filter the queue into 3 lanes rather than one lane that then splits at the Box Office - Lane 1 Correct Money, Lane 2 Need Change, Lane 3 More Than One Ticket (1 person queues).

Also Filter arrival at Entrance to 1, On the Right Access to Season and Online Tickets Only (Keep the Person with Scanner There) 2, On the Left Ticket Holders who have been to the Box Office and have bought a Physical Ticket.

They had a pile of pre-printed tickets when I bought mine on Tuesday evening so can only assume they got through them before you turned up?  Not sure there is much benefit in different queues, I guess the trick is to convince more people to purchase online to avoid the queues, also midweek tends to condense arrivals so you get a more of a queue for the same final attendance.  There was an informal arrangement on the scanning when I walked in but if we are going to get bigger crowds then your suggestion seems pretty reasonable.

One additional problem with the ticket office model is when we are forced into a segregated crowd situation - everyone will still have to queue at the same ticket office unless we issue 'away tickets' that can only be purchased from the visiting club and don't sell any on the day for the away turnstile, although that brings its own set of problems
