I am going all out and expect a 4-0 win with Attendance of 945.
Start with an All Out Attack and then sub a few for York on Saturday.
-
Bonus is Rory McAuley serving his 3rd Match Suspension so will be OK for York.
-
I’m hoping for 2-0 carey and Marriott
Att:846

Actually looks pretty awful weather forecast for Tuesday...but assuming it all goes ahead then I will go for
3-1 to Lynn if Gash plays and 1-0 to Lynn if he misses out.
Attendance around 500 if weather poor.

The weather as forecast does suggest we might not be playing Alfreton tomorrow after all. I’ll be keeping an eye on the website tomorrow afternoon for sure.

Mat office forecast appears to show rain clearing the area by about 2pm with a slight possibility of light rain shower around 7pm :rain:

Doesn't always help the attendance when forecast not looking great. Think if they clear 600 tonight it'll be an achievement.
Wonder what kind if reaction their strikers going to receive :laughcry: :laughcry:

Their number 10 did apologise on Saturday for getting Rory sent off at the Walks by deliberately missing the penalty !!!
-
If he did would not be enough for what he did. What's the weather like in Lynn at the moment?
-
1200. 3-1 to Lynn. :cup2:
-
Nice tidy win. Should be favourites in the next round against Leek, and if we find ourselves in the 4th qualifying round, only 1 game from the cup proper. COYL.

Could make amend by signing for Lynn remember ryan Roberts; not Morgan-brown calibre, this chap is dangerous;would do well with 3 strikers, and a little bit of discipline from Ian :cup2: :cup2: :cup2: :comeon: :comeon: :comeon: :comeon:

Morgan-Smith even but as you say he is dangerous Thought our Smithy did a good job tonight

Really good all round performance last night, particularly in view of the change in formation caused by Gash's absence, possibly not a system we could employ away from home on heavier pitches but given the massive improvement at the Walks something that we look at again, even if only as a plan B. Certainly will have given IC food for thought with how some of those who haven't had loads of game time took their opportunity.
I didn't hear who was man of the match and would probably have given it to Marriott who worked tirelessly throughout but for me the biggest performance was Burrows as the spare centre half, given that he can't be 'match sharp' I thought he looked more comfortable there than he has in his games at right back. Payne and Carey again impressed in a packed but fluid midfield and IC has to find a way of giving them more game time, we also moved the ball much, much quicker (and slicker) than against Gloucester and duly got the rewards. I guess the only slight disappointment was that Kelly didn't fully take his chance - he looked good early on but then got a bit one dimensional always wanting to take a player on when, in truth, where we were hurting them was by moving the ball on quicker.

Agree with much of TonyM’s post. All our attacking players played well and in a style that I’ve been advocating, (not a boast, just pleased to see it). We had the fluidity I expected with those personnel, and keeping the opponents on the back foot is DEFENDING as well ! IC must have a real problem picking a side at the moment because all 16 players deserve to be in ! Don’t quite agree that Kelly didn’t take his chance. His ability is obvious and he is one of our most important assets. Anyway - what a season we are developing here - York and Leek could rock the town and hugely lift the attendances......

An excellent evening's entertainment. Firstly, well done to everyone involved in contributing to and producing a fantastic programme. Must have been a busy Sunday writing the articles and getting the printing done for Tuesday evening. After some good reading we were treated to a hardworking performance by the team and now we can look forward to visiting York and Leek. The Staffordshire club are certainly looking forward to welcoming us and already have a poster for the game on their twitter feed!
p.s. for those of us interested in heritage railways as well as football ( e.g. Linnet 1947) the Churnet Valley railway is quite close to Leek!

Wouldn't disagree with the comment about Kelly's ability, although not sure I (nor IC it would appear) would class him as 'one of our most important assets" at present. I think we are just struggling a bit to find a role / team shape that gets the best out of him, in a similar way as happened with Ryan Hawkins. Against Gloucester he suffered from the team not moving the ball quickly enough, he was finding gaps / space but often didn't receive the ball. Personally I would have liked to see him stay on for the full 90 last night and slot into Henderson's position (slightly inside) to see how he fared as I still think he needs minutes. Unfortunately for Sam, but great for the team, I think IC currently has better options in terms of shape / form with Fox having a storming season, particularly when playing slightly forward when we have a back three and Henderson also having stepped up well playing in that more advanced midfield role.
-
Agree with most of that, but feel Kelly had too much of a left-wing role and would be very threatening inside as it’s more of his natural position. Don’t know how IC will pick the team for York. All 16 give us real advantages in different ways, but rather than a “Carragher/Neville” diatribe of tactics and formations I suggest the team personnel should be picked to produce last night’s slipperiness with added Gash !

Enjoyed the game the team played football throughout. Was a good performance and crowd very vocal. :cup2:

I just watched the highlights on the "tele" Pedros kit looked very similar colour to Alfreton's

Alfreton lost their unbeaten home record on Saturday....here are their manager's thoughts:

What has an Alfreton news story got to do with Lynn?

I think it is pointing more to the fatigue in a squad in general, and the forum is for all things worthy of a mention football related. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Thanks Griss :thanks:

Ok, so what has fatigue in the Alfreton squad got to do with Lynn? Seems a bit of a strange thing to post.
