Hopefully he’s there as rotation/an option on the bench, not as a signal of Marriott’s departure. (Though starting to think if Marriott was going he’d have gone by now).

Don’t really remember him standing out particularly in the Boston games, but sounds like an astute piece of business.

Great work from Robbie Back pulling this one off.  Great support from the Chairman and a big signal that we are looking for National League Football next season with that contract.

Must give IC a massive uplift to think if something happens to his front two then he has that kind of quality to come in.

Hard to remember better days than these as a Lynn fan.

Great asset to the team he will give Gassy a helping hand I have noticed he has been playing with a straped up knee

You’d like to think so griss and as mallard has said certainly looks like the eyes on national league
After Saturday surely the buzz around the town and the football we play would like to see att: nearer 1500 to 2000 each league game .... come on everyone hop on board this could be some journey/ season to be apart of .... :scarf: :bus:

Good to see we have finally found cover for the front two, been a gap there all season but it is obviously a difficult area to find someone of the right standard and accepting that the way Gash & Marriott have played this season opportunities might be limited.  Now down to IC to find the right balance in terms of rotation and also to find a style that will suit the new lad - can't remember him at all from either of the two games over Christmas but then Boston do have a bit of form in not always getting the best out of their strikers!

Just watched him on YouTube, a very mobile forward with a lot of goals under his belt.  Not a “target man” type.  Looks a very useful acquisition indeed !.....  Steven is doing this club proud, no doubt about that.....

Halifax fans seem to think Southwell got a rough deal playing under their previous Manager who used him as a lone striker.

Also on their forum it seems a certain Cameron King is out of contract there in the summer.... guess where they suggested he might be heading.   They rate him as highly at The Shay the same as we did.

Just read the thread on the Halifax forum, doesn't seem to have won over too many of their fans and lots of 'rumours' re wages that I sincerely hope are nothing like he will be getting at Lynn (unless it's all performance related bonuses).  Not convinced we should be throwing 2+ year contracts around for anyone other than IC but maybe that is all part and parcel of where the club is going?  Hopefully SC's 'big January announcement' will give some more information about how the club is moving forward off the field because, with the greatest respect to SC & MH, we seem to be falling further and further behind what is happening on the pitch.

In fairness Tony I’m not sure anyone ( inside or outside the club) thought we would be in the position we find ourselves.  It would have been hard to keep pace with events on the pitch, off the pitch.  Appointing a full time commercial Manager is a positive step.  I wonder if Mark will also be taking on all duties with regard to the media side as well ?

Did Bevin Asher film a video of Dayle Southwell with his thoughts on joining the Club ?

Boston supporters on their forum seem to be very concerned with whats going on at The Walks these days!

Strange that!

I don't think there is too much on there to disagree with, mainly concerned with where the money is coming from and if it will run out (they have got that t-shirt) and whether what we are reportedly paying Southgate is 'value for money' - certainly not many on there wishing he had extended his time at York Street but really only time will tell if it IC can get the most out of the him or if the lad's best days are behind him, at 26 he certainly has the chance for it to be the former, either way I'm still not a fan of a 2+ year contract
