With the seemingly positive news coming out of the EFL meeting. Do we dare look ahead to next season ( whenever it may start).?
Season Tickets and general admission costs will be one of the first things to be sorted.
What are people’s thoughts on this. How would the following sound ?
General Ground ( standing) £18
Seating right and left hand side £21
Seating mid stand £25.
Then how about a £1 surcharge per ticket sold to go to the War Chest.
Tin helmet is on, but for Step 1 Football I think the prices are about right. ( based on 2019/2020 prices)
Thoughts ?
-
I think Notts County were most expensive at £22.00.
Harrogate £18 standing, £19 seated with a £2 discount if purchased on line before the game.
Halifax £20 NEXT season.
-
Season tickets need to have a significant discount for them to be attractive, Lynn's was pitiful.
Bromley for 2019/20 was £18 which include seating but if booked in advance online £15.
Premier League/EFL season ticket holders £15
Concessions/NHS/Armed Forces/Emergency Services £13 if booked in advance online £10
Full paying adult also include 2 free children if required.
-
I think throughout each League you get variations in price.
Squire, what sort of gates did Bromley enjoy for that kind of money ? Hopefully it paid off for them
-
To be honest I’m willing to pay £18-20 to watch lynn standing and seated £20-22
If I ever sit I normally move side to side lynns attacking as I find the pillars obscure view
This topic will cause many an opinion mine is based on last season , and if promoted a real chance to give it ago of staying up and also to support the work all of those Involved who have got lynn to be in this position .
Perhaps they could look at either family season tickets or similar match day tickets to get the next generation involved .
Also would love to think away travel would be better supported when a coach is laid on perhaps a incentive there some how could be found

Bromley averaged 2018. That's an increase of 36% on the previous season.
-
Thanks Nigel,
Yes it paid off Mallard, they haven't increased their prices for 3 seasons with season ticket sales breaking records each year. They did an early bird offer which offered a substantial discount. I think it worked out at around £11 a game for a full paying adult.
They also don't charge for their U/23 games, also they open up their facilities to screen lunchtime PL games on match days and the first pint is free.
-
Blimey that is some marketing initiative, Squire.
Looks like they have a very innovative and forward thinking marketing dept at Bromley. The fans seem to be buying in to that modus operandi.

Counting chickens before they've hatched..... could still end up null and void. Hopefully a special resolution can be passed to allow York and Havant to be promoted without play offs.

Totally agree KES, normally 2teams go Up from each League (N & S) to National so why not keep that tradition - York and Havant both deserve Promotion by PPG as well.

0% chance of that happening. Can't promote with that, so Barrow would miss out and any sides in the play offs. They need 17 votes, NL get 24, N/S get 4 each. In NL alone, they'll comfortable hit that target because I could only see at worse Chorley/Stockport and maybe another side being against it.

Whichever way you look at it - One League (EFL 1 / EFL 2 - National - NL North - NL South) will be playing next Season 1 x Team light (Bury FC Ejected from EFL 1).
Unless FA decide that 2020-21 will again be played with a Team light or find a "Team" out-of-the-hat. Bury FC have applied to FA to go into National League (Step 1) but that would put the cat-amongst-the -pigeons. Better solution is Bury FC go into NL (North) and York go Up.

Think the logical decision is one of Gloucester/Brackley will move to NLS again, and Bury FC will go into North.

Had a conversation with an acquaintance who does some ground advertising at The Walks. Mark Hearle has been in touch ( good to hear he is back from Furlough) and broke the news that the cost has risen by a staggering 150%.
Seems like we are entering a whole new ball game game now we have moved up to the top tier of Non League Football. A really professional outlook seems the order of the day. Can you imagine how much the main shirt sponsor will be expected to cough up this coming season ? Must be big bucks.
-
If there is significant TV coverage of matches going forward, then prices of advertising opportunities in the ground need to reflect that .
-
That’s exactly it KES. A different level now. TV will be involved from BT Sports. Let’s hope the local business’s haven’t suffered massively from the Covid situation and can find the budget to support the Club.

At the same time Mr. Hearle needs to be careful not to burn too many bridges with the small local firms on the way, incase they are needed on the way down.
On a slightly different note, will we be the only PT teams in the National League next year, (if none of the FT go PT for corona costs)?

That's fair enough, but a 150% increase?
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a misunderstanding there. That would make a £400 pitchside board now cost £1200, or an £800 board £2000!
TV coverage or not, with the financial fall out due to the Pandemic, I would have thought many sponsors (all over the country) will be thinking long and hard about the amount they usually spend on sponsorship, let alone increasing the expense by 150%.
I cant see it myself, so l'll believe it when I hear it, or read it, from an official source.

Does that 150% mean an increase in notice board uptake or is it price increase. It is not quite clear which one you mean
-
Come on Hill have a word with yaself. :laughcry:. Using the Word ‘cost’ must have given you a clue. Plus where in the ground could 150% more boards be accommodated?
-
Duck it wasn’t that clear sorry

Come on Mallard. You never heard of Sky hooks? :laughcry:
-
Sorry Hill, I will try and be much clearer in future instead of using the cost I will use the term in exchange for money. :countingmoney:
B&G. Along with wire netting seed and tartan paint.
-
Could it be that it's a 50% increase..ie cost is now 150% of the original cost ?
-
Going back to B & G comment regarding the use of Sky Hooks in my younger days I was. Scaffolder and them Sky Hooks came in very handy
-
Did a Long Weight come into the equation
-
Never did use them never had need to but I know they were available
-
Apparently there always used to be a supply at the Council Offices.
Always a problem when they were needed though, as the Cuckoo Clocks always had to be moved out of the way first, to be able to get to them.

Maybe it'll be made clear in the next podcast, that have dried up all of a sudden..... :dontknow: :dontknow:

We did have 3/4 Podcasts in a Week Dil. I would think SC has had a very busy week since promotion was confirmed. A lot of Prep to put in place in readiness for next season. I would think he needs to get his ducks all in row. Hopefully including pulling in a big name sponsor who can help in supporting the Club at our new level.
Can’t expect the owner and the fans to fund it all.
