Title: Michael Gash
Post by: Mallard on September 19, 2020, 06:34:21 PM
After watching the game today.   How much are we going to miss our big hold up player?   We certainly looked very powder puff up top today.

Mallard. Did you stream the game today, or have a special pass?

Lynn have to adapt to a new way of playing......Michael is 34 and even if fully fit wouldn't be able to manage 90 mins every game. We need King fit and in the midfield to inject the pace and get beyond the first line of defence and then we need more people timing runs into the box when Loza and Power supply the crosses

Quite happy to pay for my football, and support the Club.  I prefer to follow the instructions we have all been given.

What did you think of the game? All looking good?  Should we have held on to Fryatt?

We did not look like we had much to offer up top.    Had a lot of the ball but rarely did we look threatening.
The same at the other end we never really  looked like Conceding either.  Fryatt wasnít really tested and had a comfortable afternoon.

Thought  the new young keeper looked confident and assured.  Will be a close call as to who gets the number one shirt.

Think there will be some hard yards to do over the next fortnight.  Though as IC said thatís when we need to peak.  I would say that very  few positions with a guaranteed name on it for a starting place.

Good to see Michael Clunan back as good as ever and Ryan Jarvis played well. We were more assured when Henderson and Kelly came on and Richards went after everything and does not give up. Certainly missed Gashy up front.

It was a useful workout for team bonding but it has not clicked yet. Maybe trying some different combinations will see some better understanding.

Thought we lacked any real intensity in the game.  Maybe that will come once the serious stuff starts.

Certainly our ball retention was decent.  Cried out for Cameron King to pick passes out and drive us  forward with intent.

Couldnít blame Dale Southwell, Power , or Loma, because the midfield gave them nothing all afternoon.  I thought a Clunan played very well, but Jarvis failed to supply to the 3 mentioned.  King and Kelly would.  Not sure about Loma, but I feel sure Power and Southwell will do well when the ball slides through properly, - same for AM and MG, of course.

Difficult one Dilly.  With Gash up there it gives us the opportunity to hit him and know it will stick.  Southwell is not that type of player.  Even when we got around the back there was no real target to find.

I think Lynn will have to play differently this year, with or without Michael.
I am also thinking that Smith seems to lack pace (?)....do hope Mc Fadden has good acceleration and pace.

KES - youíve proved itís all about opinions. - I thought Smith had really good game !!  I think he will be amongst the best CHs in this level.  Cool and assured on the ball, as well.   Each to his own !
