So is he a midfielder or forward ? King replacement or option up front ?
Was hoping for more of an out n out striker …
Do say he’s a good baller so fingers crossed
-
Maybe an addition not a replacement ? Could be in anticipation of a decent cup run ( wishful thinking I know)

A subtle way of saying Walker's loan has finished.
"@officialKLtown
Good luck to former Lynn player
@ZainWalker8
who starts for @Official_BRFC tonight"

Joey Barton on discipline! :laughcry:
Heard it all now! :laughcry:

This looks a real punt by the Club. If it comes off could be one hellva signing. Got to fancy IC to turn him around.
Never a dull moment.

Marriot.

Southwell, Smith, Kelly, Brown, Fox, Limb. It’s a two way street this one.
-
Another midfielder, 45 games 2 goals is not going to solve our striker problem.
-
With the loan guy Walker returning to Bristol Rover I guess there was a space to fill.
-
I have to agree with Mall, this looks like a huge gamble for the club but maybe that is where we are when it comes to recruitment? Looking at his fitness levels the obvious parallel is with King so hopefully we have learnt from that experience and with Barrett coming in without any initial outlay lets hope he is on a short-term deal which gives him the incentive to prove Barton made a mistake.

Signed on a 2 year deal Tony .

Thanks, missed that on first reading. Absolute complete madness and just tops off a week of very, very poor decisions from SC. Irrelevant as to how good the lad is, and I really hope he does well, but for us to pick up someone with his history and offer him a contract term beyond the end of this season is incomprehensible.
I know I sound like a broken record but we really don't look like we have a wide enough range of contacts to support a NL set up
-
Positivity please gentlemen🤔. We asked for change and got it, having watched marriot early doors there was a time when I seriously doubted him, but then the rest is history..... Good luck lad 👍
-
B&B, I don't think it's negative to have concerns about the new lads injury record - this is what he posted on Twitter yesterday
"Delighted to be here and kick on, I fell out of love with my biggest passion the last 2 years. But I’m ready to get fit & show what I can do"
Now, much as I wish the lad all the best there have to be questions around his fitness and I think we should be realistic about that, particularly given the size of our squad and the pressure to throw him into games sooner rather than later, but he left Bristol Rovers at the start of September
-
Plus we run on a small squad and seemingly have a much tighter budget than many in our League. We already have King who is on the missing list. Hopefully this new lad can get up to speed pdq and he gets somewhere near his true potential
-
Well, it'll be great if we see just a little of this.....

Very good. I don't think the talent the Lad has got has ever been in question, even by Joey Barton.
This level should be a Walk in the Park for him.
I wonder what his fitness level currently is. :dontknow: Lets hope he's been working hard for the past 6 weeks.
-
That will be the key along with his attitude maybe. However, coming to this thread new and being able to read it all at the same time, I thought it appeared many had judged and convicted him without the trial. If (small word with a big meaning I admit), he does come with a fresh outlook and shows some of that talent, what a capture on a free.
-
If my memory is correct, when a certain Michael Gash joined KLFC, doubts were raised over his injury history. Whatever happened to him.😃 Lets give the lad a chance. He's only 23. To be honest a lot of the goal chances we miss are in the area, just need someone who is alert enough to convert them. If i heard it once on the radio, ive heard it ten times, ooh hes hit the side netting, crossbar, or put it wide. Maybe, just maybe we have someone who can get it in the 8 yards between the posts. :scarf:
-
Could be a perfect storm, but looking at that Clip and the passes he made, lets hope our current crop of players soon get on the same wavelength as him.
:scarf:

Agree B&G. Takes me back to the 70's, when Peterbough had Freddie Hill. Im not say ing this lad is in the same class, but Freddie came from Leeds Utd. He always seemed to be pass ahead of the rest of the team. It ok having a quality player in the team, if the rest know what he is going to do, and can make the correct runs. Time will tell, lets not judge til hes played a few games. Cant be any worse than a certain Mr. Holt. If he's as good as Simon Lappin, then happy days.
-
If anyone wants to know where the 8 yards are, then watch the video on the BBC website, for the great Roger Hunt, RIP, tribute in the 1966 World Cup. Thats the way to do it. Right place, right time.

From what I've gathered he plays either side or behind the striker.
