King’s Lynn Town FC can confirm that following a number of meetings and discussions over the past few days between club chairman Stephen Cleeve and the manager Ian Culverhouse, that a mutual agreement has been reached for Ian Culverhouse to leave his role as manager of the club. Club Chairman Stephen Cleeve and Ian Culverhouse both agreed this action is in the best interest of the club going forward.

Stephen Cleeve said “There is no doubting that Ian played an important and integral part in our recent history, not least in gaining back to back promotions.  However, football is a results driven business and given this season’s results and our home form, it was simply not fair to allow the situation to drift any longer for the club or for Ian.  I would like to place on record my thanks for what Ian has done at the club and would like to wish him well in his future footballing career.”

With the Club only now advertising for a Manager and with the DoF missing, who takes charge of the next game?

Answers please, on a post card addressed to....................................

I would guess a couple of the senior pro’s would fill in for a couple of games. Or maybe SC fancies himself in the dressing room ?

Have to say I’m not surprised IC has gone.  It just hasn’t worked this season.   Big thanks to the man who brought some great days to The Walks ( and away).   Wish the guy all the very best for where he ends up next.

Or maybe SC fancies himself in the dressing room ?

I'm sure he does!

Would he also fancy taking charge of the training ground?

Time will tell!

I don't think there's been any mention of Bastock leaving at the moment, although news of that could follow.

So until it does (if it does), I suppose he will be the No 1.

Perhaps SC will fancy playing as well as managing. We desperately need someone up front who can score.

I think Cleeve will take charge with Jamie Farr as his assistant.

Jamie Farr isn’t a football man is he ? Figures space and building regs etc maybe but I don’t think he would be assistant manager at a kids little league let alone national league. Although it’s Lynn anything can happen I guess

Simon Rusk. Peterborough born played for York City and Boston Utd amongst others. Was U23 coach at Brighton and had a glowing reputation of developing young players many of whom are now playing in the Premier League at Brighton. Would be ideal if interested.

Interesting one Nicki.  Ya dad knows his stuff.  Think Rusk is Peterborough based.  UEFA B Badge is very impressive.  Not sure if IC was a B Badge or if he had his A badge ( one from the top)

What was his record like at Stockport ?  I know he was sacked from there and the new guy Dave Challinor has gone in there and done a fantastic job

Bastock would know Rusk too from their Boston days.

What a wonderful spell we had under Ian Culverhouse. Back to back promotions with little old King's Lynn Town. Exciting times with good football. Now we find ourselves up and amongst teams that when I was growing up collecting stickers were in the football league. I could barely imagine that we'd be competing with some of those sides. Such a huge shame really.

He got 3rd place but beaten semi finalists with Stockport County last season. On, presumably, a very large budget. Would he be interested in us? I wonder.

Weymouth, slough, Hereford, york, Boston, Warrington......memorable times.....👏🏻👏🏻
But, sadly it had too happen, the chairman has acted quickly and hopefully with the
Extended time before we play again, we can look forward to a fresh start and a plan b 🤔
As for the players there are some that should be looking over there shoulder, (aka gold)
Because the new management team hopefully will not be so forgiving...😡
So good luck to culverhouse and best wishes on his next project...
Hard work/passion is a given with the new regime,
And I’m sure the fans will return and back the club ⚽️💙💛

Thanks to the  SC /IC combo for some incredibly exciting stuff over their tenure together.
If it was to end this way, I kinda wish it had happened 6 games ago, but can fully understand why it is happening now...a real tough decision after what has gone before.
Good luck to IC in his future ventures.
Tough now for SC to resummon his energies, pick up the pieces and go again.
Some of the current squad appear not to realise what pre-existed at the club....be very  interesting to see how things develop now.

Sad to see IC depart but given results and performances it was only a matter of time.  Certainly the best manager I have seen at the club, yes it was at a time when SC's financial doping aided things but certainly got the squads at step 2 and 3 playing above their individual parts.  Unfortunately couldn't repeat the trick at step 1, not helped by poor recruitment in both seasons for which IC has to take some responsibility, particularly this season when he should have identified the glaring lack of NL knowledge within his set up and sought to bring in some help.

Don't envy his replacement - poor squad with probably very little wriggle room for strengthening and then a complete rebuild next year at step 2 when I would imagine we will revert to part time after offloading as many of the multi year deal players that we can

I think he must just look at bringing someone in until the end of the season to steer us a cross the line, then look at next season depending on where we are? Whether by the miracle of all miracles we stay up or go down there is no point in appointing until we know? :dontknow:

I think we should go for Marcelo Bielsa's interpretor. Just think of the knowledge he's picked up over the years.  :sinking:

Or the late great Bobby Robson's interpretor from his time at Barcelona!
