Have to agree with Alan Sugar and Simon Jordan no place for fans on the board are these fans who join owners on boards going to contribute to transfers or financing club when it’s required
-
Yes always best to keep these people as customers.
Jordan does a great job on Talk Sport. Wasn’t he a failed owner at Palace in a previous life. Guess that’s why he is on Talk Sport, doing just that. Talking about it. Giving his views by way of Radio on where Clubs are getting it wrong.
-
Sugars club were/are probably the biggest underachievers in the PL since it was formed, despite previous/current owners wealth.
He didn't hang around long when he realised it was going to cost him some serious money. The sensible thing he did was to get out!
Maybe entertaining listening. :dontknow:

Easier to talk the talk than walk the walk?

Valid point Loopy.

Is this really Loopy, or has SC got his log in details.

So basically clubs should be run by people who are willing to throw money at an issue rather than have competent people running clubs properly? If ever you needed a reason why the Crouch Report was necessary and the sport in this country is in the state it is then look no further than LL's post.

I suspect this Loopy ( whoever he may be). Is casting a few Crumbs on the water to see what nibbles he can get. :laughcry:
Alan Sugar and Kings Lynn owner ? Hmmmmm I bet Sugar didn’t have to sell an old Landrover to pay some bills.
-
I can't understand the need for anyone to contribute. Not with these all these ex League players that were going to be looking for clubs and only needing £400 a week.

Always useful to have fans on the board, they are the only ones who can give the views from a fans perspective. :dontknow:

As both said fans talk the talk until there’s a transfer to pay or bill to pay are these fans going to dig deep in their pockets IMO they either put up the £££££ or clear off and shut up

The German 50%+1 model has worked pretty well over there.

Fans do put up money every game.

Grissles you being silly now if fans want seats on boards then they should stump up money when transfers are happened and help foot the bill
-
Do you intend to stop supporting the Club when there is supporter involvement?
-
Should be no need for fans or any director/owner to pay for transfers or running costs. The money should be generated by the club itself. Pay the bills first. If there is a surplus then think about transfers.. It's called living by your means. Most people do it daily all their lives. But it seems common sense goes out the window, as soon as a football club is involved. Do you not agree Loopy/ Stephen.. :countingmoney:

Not being silly at all loops, when you have a board of directors those directors normally have a paid position within the club, like finance director,or HR director etc? All financial transactions are funded by the football club or the owner, fans are sometimes co-opted onto the board to give their ideas which the board can react to. :dontknow:

How does anyone get a seat on ‘The Board’ at a club like Kings Lynn when you have one man who thinks he can run it all himself? What a ridiculous argument. Plus IF there was one available who in their right mind would buy a position at a Club that is in debt to the tune that we will see when the next lot of figures are available.

Really? Where is he then?
Not wanted, even if such a thing still exists.

Was that comment made In-between munching on prawn sandwiches ?

Mallard is right. A board is there to represent the shareholders. There’s only one shareholder and it seems

And to make sure business is carried out in accordance to the law.

I don't know if the sandwiches were Prawn.

White Knight or cowboy, you can never really sure about strangers on horses riding into town? Hopefully the Crouch Report will get through parliament which will then make owning a football club under the benefactor model less attractive, might be a bit of pain in the short term for existing owners but well worth it for the longer term benefits

Mallard is right. Ridiculous argument. Board members represent the shareholders, in this case I'm assuming SC is the only shareholder and he obviously thinks he can represent himself. The biggest issue here Mallard mentioned above is given club are in debt, a director steps onto the board, he/she takes on shared personal liability for that debt if it isn't paid. Who on earth would do that?
Having an advisory board who can interact with SC would make some sense. Having fan representation on that would be more likely; problem is not all fans agree, just look at this forum. So which fan/fans would get that opportunity? And then whichever fan/fans join the advisory board they would get slated on this forum by the fans which aren't happy with the agenda they are pushing.
