General Discussion / Re: Program notes from Saturdays postponed game
« on: December 18, 2017, 04:46:04 PM »
Firstly lets cover the pricing issue first. It was decided last season that 3 games this season would cost £ 3 more for entry save those fans that had bought season tickets or membership cards where the pricing would remain the same Ė benefits of being regular fans... Im a regular fan , but due to work it dose not benefit me getting a season ticket.

General Discussion / Re: Boxing Day vs St Ives £15

Its 3 quid extra.  Is that really going to impact on people's pockets ?   Can people really blame Mr Cleeve for trying to make a few extra quid on what will be  a 4 figure crowd ?  Some may say its blatant profiteering.  I see it more as making hay while the sun shines.

Certainly people will be expecting to pay the higher price for the 5 biggies that are going to come along.   Has anything been said re the home game with Slough on the 16th Dec ?    The trouble with inflating the price for this  one is gates tend to dip a bit on the lead up to Christmas.
If your so rich you pay the extra £3 for the fans that don't want to pay it, happy days big crowd.

General Discussion / Re: Linnets Live & The Chairman
« on: October 18, 2017, 11:01:30 AM »
I took part in Linnets Live last night and asked the chairman a direct question -  Iíve heard a rumour that Grant Holt is being paid £2000 a week, and if so, who is paying his wages?
His answer was that the fans pay his wages and if there is a shortfall, he covers the cost.
Itís nice to see Holt and Lappin at the club, however, it reminds me of the previous incarnation and we all know what happened there!!!
Personally, I think the club is not or heading towards not being on a sound financial footing. How can it be, when one single player is being paid £2000 a week, at this level? Itís positive to have ambition, however, I consider this Chairman to be acting wrecklessly.
As good as the management and squad is, Iím disappointed to state that I think the club will go bankrupt :glum:
Iím interested to know other peoples thoughts on this?
Thank you for reading my post.
Keep guessing, only 2 people know what hes on.

Just like you did with basketball fenman - then when you're fed up don't bother any more
So Fenman helped with the basketball for free in his own time. Your having a go at him . Why don't you step up and carry on what he started if you have so much time on your hands.

On paper we've gotta be pleased with signings made so far but does anybody think there's gonna be a big name signing to come?
No , I cant see us making a big name signing.

George Thompson got a few.
Reliant on midfielders to score our goals, perhaps we should bin off the strikers and just have attacking midfielders up front.  :laughcry:

I am sure if Mettam doesn't cut the Mustard with the rest of the lads in pre-season he will be left behind.   Culverhouse has dealt with a lot bigger names than Leon Mettam.  If Mettam buys into Culverhouse and what he is trying to achieve then we could well have a real goal scorer on our hands.   When was the last time we had one of those ?
Last goal scorer we had I would say jack defty. Dunkley done ok but not a 20 goal a season striker. We also had chris bacon, frew, messiah McDonald, speight , none of these scored many goals for us anyway.

looking at some of the comments on here. I would say the club are doing things the right way as to announcing players. How many time in the past have we herd a player is coming in only to find out he has been offered more money to stay or gone somewhere else . If we kept our mouth shut about who is going to sign maybe we would actually get the players. instead of another team coming in or the team there at offering more money because they have seen something on social media.

Enjoyed the game Lynn showed that little bit more class in the second half, worth the win but Fakenham did their share despite the difference
in leagues. Only  marred by the dross behind us using foul language throughout the game showing no respect for adults and children around them, they should have been put down at birth.
I have never been to a match where I haven't herd swearing , if not the fans then the players.

Played for us when we first started again was used as a defender.
