Really good result against the top of the league.
Unbeaten in 10 which is something none of us can have seen coming a couple of months ago.
Full credit to SC/AL and all of the players.

How quickly things have changed, now we have 1 or 2 games in hand of most of the teams around us.
Draw game in hand and we go above Blyth into 18th, win game in hand and we go above Farsley into 17th.
What a turnaround in the last half a dozen games, full credit to AL, his staff, players and lady luck changing.
Onwards and upwards. :salute:

If you look at the current league standings I think that any of the teams up to and including Buxton (14th) who are only 8 points clear of Lynn could be drawn into a relegation battle.
With just about parity in games now being reached the current positions are more of a true reflection.
Of these teams mentioned Darlington and Lynn are the in form teams if you take the last 5 results.
One plus is that Lynn have played a game less than Darlington.
Very interesting last 10 games with lots of points still at stake.  :mystic:

Played for Peterborough U21's against Bristol City last Saturday. Presumably loan period has finished, not given much game time at Lynn to impress.
We are certainly lacking in pace across back line and as the only fit left back he should have been given a chance but it seems AL would rather play a centre back in this position instead.

Think B&G that if you see my recent post  it was congratulating Alex Cross on Academy progress.
I don't believe I have criticised any other posters on this site.
My last criticism was of SC in Sept having no commercial side working to raise income which I think all would agree has been a continuing  problem.
Crabby no, but slow you down boy if you enter the gem of the Norfolk coast.  :shark:

As usual B&G we can count on you to turn any positive into a negative.
Reading your points pulling apart the deal I'm surprised that with your buisness acumen that you are not listed on the Stock Exchange let alone Wall Street or running a football club.  :mystic:

Good read on club website from Alex Cross regarding progress during 2023 of an ever expanding academy.

See that Oke has linked up with MH at Bishop Stortford on a season long loan.
Hopefully it will make room for an incoming addition ?

What a poor result, I'm afraid the buck stops with AL as his team selection was far from satisfactory.
We had our top goal scorer Cybulski (6) who is also our only natural no.9 sitting on the bench, on his introduction the team performance improved.
Barrett starting whilst coming back from injury doesn't make sense as he needs to be used as an impact player off the bench until full fitness is reached.
Smith I'm afraid is just not good enough for this standard.
Ponticelli & Stephens have scored 7 goals in 27 league starts and 6 sub appearances, whilst their positioning to make chances is very good their conversion of chances into goals is dire.
Back 3 of Crowther, Coulson & Mcfadden have not kept a clean sheet all season, surely AL must see something has to change.
Apart from 2 young loanees from Fleetwood there have been no incoming players, with all AL contacts you would think there would have been some experienced players incoming or is it that there is no finance to fund such players.
Without a team shake up or a couple of experienced incoming players appearing quickly we will be cut adrift in the bottom four over the next few games.

According to facebook all injured players are back in squad for tonight's match, Messrs Ponticelli , Barrett, Hughes & Clifford but no mention of Mcfadden.
With a full squad and all having had a two week break now is the time for the team to deliver and cut out the defensive mistakes.
Four home games out of next six with 18 points at stake I feel we must pick up 10 points, anything less and we will be in for a long struggle.

A brilliant result and a continuation of the improvement under AL.
What a pity that it is only worthy of a couple of comments which is surprising , actually it isn't as all the negative posters on here have not a good word to say when results are improving but are quick to jump in feet first when things are not going so well.

That makes 6 points out of 12 under AL which compared to 8 out of 30 from MH looks quite promising.
Surely the position we were in when AL took over it is more important for points over style of play.
It must be a nightmare trying to move players out who are not good enough as who is going to want them.
As for the crowd last night it must be remembered that Norwich were at home and we have another home match on Saturday, let's see how many turn up then.
Congratulated media on their improved coverage earlier in the season but it now seems to slipped back again.

General Discussion / Re: Managers Interview Post Buxton
« on: October 09, 2023, 04:20:07 PM »
I thought he was very clear and concise with his comments.
The one stood out for me was that a full time club after pre season training and friendly matches and 11 league matches in he can see within a few days that the players are not fit.
If that is the case it will not be turned round in a couple of weeks and it also raises the question what have they been doing since starting pre season,  :countingmoney:

General Discussion / BUXTON SATURDAY
« on: October 04, 2023, 08:56:59 AM »
A tough start for the new management team against a good Buxton team who are playing well and whom only last Saturday won 3-0 away at Scunny.
It will be interesting to see how many of the injured players return to the matchday squad and who if fit is left out of the squad which would be perhaps a sign of who will be released to make way for new blood.
As the manager has only had a week to work with the squad I think most supporters would be happy with a point.
A loss would not be a disaster as it would be more important the manner of defeat, how the team played and if tactically some improvement can be seen to go forward with.
